《Living a Lie {Anakin Skywalker x Reader}》23

Normally I was not that nervous when going to speak with the council, but today when they asked for me to come see them, I suddenly became on edge. I did not fear it was about Anakin and I, but I felt slightly excited as well. Possibly my senses were telling me it was a good thing.

The sounds of my boots echo across the hall. As I walk along the corridors of the Jedi Temple, I spot the large entryway to the council chamber. When I reach the door, I pat down my robe to smoothen it. I take a deep breath in and enter the room.

"Hello," I greet the council as I walk to the middle of the chamber.

Yoda smiles, "hello, (Y/L/N)."

I open my mouth to say more, but Mace starts before I can, "(Y/L/N), we have found great skill and ability with you lately." Pride inside of me builds. "And as you may know, many Knights of the Jedi are needed for this war."

"Yes, I do know, Master Windu," I answer.

The master Jedi nods, "but without a teacher, there can be no Knights."

"Are you saying," I gulp, "I get my own Padawan learner?"

"Yes, yes," Ki-Adi-Mundi adds in. "And, if you succeed, you shall be rewarded with a chance of Mastery."

I look to Obi-Wan, who wears a sly smirk. "I request of her presence at my Padawans ceremony. To give her a taste of what is possibly in her near future." Was he saying I was to become a member of the council?

"Part of the Council, (Y/L/N) is not," Yoda frowns. "Besides, yet to pass the Trials, Skywalker has."

Kenobi cleared his throat, "we are in need of Knights, aren't we?" The council nods in response. "I believe Anakin has proven he is worthy of being a Knight. Not only has he single handedly saved me from a well experienced Sith, he has successfully won many battles with the clones."

"What are you suggesting, Kenobi?" Mace rose an eyebrow.

"I'm saying," Obi-Wan motioned his hands, "Anakin needs no Trial. He is ready for Knighthood."

"What?!" Mundi exclaims. "A Padawan to become a Knight, without a Trial? That has never been done, nor is it of tradition!"

Kenobi hardens his voice, "tradition must be broke in a time like this, Mundi. Anakin is far beyond his current rank, and you know it." The two Jedi Masters glare at each other.

"Hmm," Yoda hums. "A secret Ceremony, Skywalker will have. Know of this, no one shall." Yoda eyes me, "be apart of Kenobi's Padawan's ceremony, (Y/L/N) will not."

"I understand, Master Yoda," I humbly obey.

Windu furrows his eyebrows, "you are the only one not apart of the Council who knows of this. This will stay between us, and is not to be discussed with anyone other than us."

"Yes, Master Windu," I respond.

"Well then," Obi-Wan leans back in his seat, "you will be able to request of your Padawan if you'd like. I suggest you take some time at the Academy and look over all of the younglings. But for now, we are done."

I bow in response and exit the Chambers. As I walk along the halls, my mind lingers from possibly being apart of the Council, then to Anakin. When I turn a corner, I spot Gabriel. Quickly, I spin around and walk the other way. Then I hear footsteps.

"(Y/N)!" He catches up to me and stops me. "Just the person I've been looking for. Long time no see. Is everything alright?"

I give a tight smile, "yes, everything is fine. Thank you, Gabriel." When I try to walk away, his grip stays on my arm, keeping me from leaving.

"You seem eager to leave," he frowns.

I nod, "I have much to do."

"Please, five minutes. Must speak to you," the Jedi begs, letting go of my arm

I inhale deeply, "no, Gabriel. I will not give you five minutes. Do not think for one second I don't know you tried to kiss me. 'Trying to smell my hair'. Was that the best you could think of?"

"(Y/N)," Gabriel gulps. "I cannot deny how I feel towards you. I know it is not the way of the Jedi, but I cannot help myself."

"Well you need to learn how," I glare.

He speaks softly, "I know how you feel towards me."

"What?"

"I know you feel as I, (Y/N). I can sense it," Gabriel claims.

I snort, "your senses are not that attuned, then." Realizing I was acting rude, I soften my voice, "forgive me."

"No," he sighs. "Forgive me. I have done what is forbidden, and you've put up with it. Im some moof milker to declare my feelings for you."

My thoughts travel back to Anakin. "Not all of those who declares ones feelings are necessarily being ridiculous."

A smile creeps up on the Jedi before me, "what are you saying, (Y/L/N)?"

"I'm not saying what you're thinking," I remind him. "There is no room in my heart for another."

"Another?" He raises an eyebrow. Oh shoot, I've done it. Congrats (Y/N), good luck becoming part of the council now.

"You know, the Jedi and all that," I make up.

The Jedi now tilts his head, "like... A certain Jedi or all of them?" The way he looks reminds me of a lost puppy.

"No," I offer a unconvincing smile. "Like the Order. That is what occupies my heart, soul, and way of life. There is no room for another since it is there." Since when could I come up with excuses so fast?

Gabriel's eyes widen in understanding, "ah, yes. I see now. Truly am I sorry for bothering you."

"It's okay," I lie.

"Well," he points his thumb behind him, "I gotta go and you've got... Stuff."

"Yea," I mutter and wave as he walks backward, then turns around completely and shuffles off.

After a few hours of moping around the Temple, I decide to go to where the younglings train. Luckily, Yoda was training a class of younglings that are preparing for the Padawan trials. I study one boy, with tan skin, and scroungy dark brown hair. He had green eyes as green as the meadow on Naboo. The boy realizes I'm watching him, and tenses up. As I release my gaze from him, he relaxes a bit.

"(Y/N)," Yoda smiles. "In time to watch the younglings, you are."

I nod, "indeed, Master Yoda."

A small giggle escapes from Yodas mouth, "say hello to Jedi Knight, (Y/L/N)."

I smile as all the young Jedi greet in unison, "hello, Master (Y/L/N)." But I realize the boy I was watching earlier stayed silent. My eyes narrow on him, and he tenses up like he did earlier.

"Show me what you are learning," I insist, releasing my gaze from the tan boy once more.

A fair skinned girl with red hair and many freckles raises her hand and jumps up and down. "Yes?" I point to her and laugh.

"Please," she begs, "please, please, please, can I demonstrate? May I Yoda, may I?" Her face was full of anticipation and passion.

I take a step closer to her, "what's your name?"

"Maya L'notal," she smiles wide, revealing her dimples.

"Master Yoda," I turn to him, "you have quite a learner here. No doubt young L'notal will follow her destiny with much achievement. May she demonstrate?" Maya blushes and smiles wider.

"Hehe" Yoda giggles, "demonstrate, she may."

"Yes!" The youngling whispered under her breath. She set her light saber on the ground and pulls the dome covering over her eyes. Her hand reaches for her green lightsaber with the Force, and it comes to her, just as the training droid comes to life. Fluidly, she spins and turns, blocking each one.

When she is finished, she turns off her lightsaber, pulls the helmet off her head and stands there waiting for praise.

I clap, "most impressive." As I look around the room, I spot the boy again. "You try," my finger points at him.

He gulps and slugs over to where Maya was once standing. As he places the dome over his eyes, he ignites his lightsaber, the blue blade shining brightly. It looks just like mine. The droid turns on, and begins to shoot at him. Stiffly, he moves his hands in choppy motions, sending the blaster fire everywhere. Then one hits him in the shin, then in the leg, then forearm. After three hits, he is laying on the ground to get out of of the droids view, then a shot fires at his butt.

"Ow!" He yelps, reaching for his behind.

All of the younglings begin to laugh, and the boys face becomes red in embarrassment. "No more!" I demand, and the room goes silent.

I walk over to the boy and reach out for him. He grasps my forearm and boosts himself up.

"You did excellent," I whisper.

He frowns and looks down at his feet in doubt. I wasn't lying. Trying to block those shots is hard! Even if he only blocked one – on accident – I would tell him he did amazing. Because he did.

"Dismissed, all of you are" Yoda sighs. The younglings all pour out of the room. He walks over to a chair, "interested in the girl, are you?"

I shake my head. "Who's the boy?"

The green alien sits down, "Von."

"Von...?"

"No other name, the boy has," the Grand Jedi Master frowns. "Unknown, his parents are."

"How did he get here then?" I question.

"The streets of Coruscant, Master Fisto found him. Sensed his powers, he did," he explains.

"No one gave him a last name?" I tilt my head.

He sighs,"want one, Von did not."

"How long has he been here?" I ask again.

"Years," Yoda exhales loudly, "showing no progress, still."

"I want him to be my Padawan," the words spill out of me faster than the waterfall on Naboo.

Yodas eyes widen in shock, then he smiles. "Your Padawan, young Von will be, then."
