《Living a Lie {Anakin Skywalker x Reader}》20

Anakin insisted he rowed us to the lake house, and the guide didn't hesitate to take his offer.
"Let's just sit here for a minute," Anakin awed over the glorious view.
I look out, "I wonder why they actually let us go on leave. Together." My gaze goes back to Anakin.
"Well," he smirks, "I may have convinced Yoda..."
"What did you tell him?" I raise an eyebrow.
He laughed, "I told him we were actually going on a mission. Well, technically now we have to do part of it, but only for a day or so."
My eyes widen, "I didn't want to have to work, Anakin!"
"Oh," Anakin waves his hand, "it's not that big of a deal. I told him we are going to crack a case."
"Like?"
He shrugs, "to find a man who's been hustling drugs. And I think we got a lead. Doonga was the suspects supposed species." I nod in response, slightly annoyed by his actions.
We continue to gaze out to the magnificent view. The water runs into the canoe, causing little splashes. I remember when Anakin and I went swimming. It was one of my favorite memories.
"I was scared half to death," Anakin blurts.
"What?" I furrow my eyebrows.
He begins to row the boat, "when you fell off the pillar. You had just admit you loved me, and I thought I lost you."
"Anakin," I place my hand on his leg, "I wont leave you."
"Never?" His eyes gaze fixedly onto mine.
"Never."

We walk into the bar Doonga told us about. All around Anakin and me were a variety of people. I was shocked to see this kind of business on Naboo. From businessmen who had a hard day, to prostitutes, this place had them all. As I entered the buzzed place, I caught many men looking my way.
I remember Anakin and I changed into normal clothing. He had told me we should go undercover, so we don't draw any attention to ourselves. It's not rare to see a Jedi, but usually when there's one present, especially in a place like this, it doesn't always mean good times.

We walk further into the loud place, and Anakin grabs my hand. "I see all these creeps looking at you." I look up at him and smirk, and he returns it. All of the men who were checking me out scrunched up their faces and turned away. I gave a sigh of relief.
"Anakin! (Y/N)!" An all too familiar voice calls out. The place goes silent, and everyone's attention is directed towards us. "There you two are! Funny thing, I was just thinking about you star crossed lovers!" Doonga walks over to us, and the pub soon returns to its usual loudness.
"We are not star crossed lovers, Doonga," I lie.
He clears his throat with a grin, and points down at our fingers intertwined.
"She was getting some weird looks," Anakin almost shouts over the noise. "I wouldn't anyone taking her." He gives a discreet wink.
The alien chuckles, "ah, too true, my friend, too true!" He scratches the back of his head, "so what're you two doing here? And so soon!"
"Is there a place we could... Talk in private?" Anakin tilts his head.
"Oh yes, my friend," a grin reappears onto the mans face, "follow me." He spins around on his heel, and walks towards an entrance. Anakin is still gripping my hand as we enter a corridor. We continue down the hall until we reach a metal door. Doonga punches some numbers in on a keypad, and the door slides up. "Come on in," he gestures for us to enter.
I let go of Anakin's hand as I sit down in a chair in the middle of the room. The only things in here are three chairs. Nothing more, nothing less. Anakin sits to the left of me, and Doongu closes the door and sits across from us.
"So," the alien starts, "what did we have to speak alone about?"
Anakin settles back in the chair, "I think you know, Doonga."
"What do you want?" He growls.
I shrug, "the truth." Doongas hand reaches towards his holster, which I didn't even know he had. His fingers wrap around his gun, and he keeps them there.

"You two best be leaving," he insisted.
"I'm afraid," I sit up straight, "we can't do that."
Anakin does as I, "but, what we can do is a little deal."
Doonga loosens his grip on his blaster, "I'm listening."
"Well, we got someone we really need off our back. Help us, and the 'truth' stays with us," Anakin negotiates.
The drug dealer ponders on this for a moment. "Throw in some credits and we have a deal."
I dig in my pocket and grab a handful of credits. "No more than this," I tell him as I reach my hand out.
"This'll do just fine," he snickers. He releases his grip off his gun and reaches for the coins, takes them, and puts them in his jacket. "Now who do you want dead?"
"We don't need him dead, we need him away. Ever heard of Blay Q'vantin?" Anakin inquires.
Doonga nods, "that bastard steals from everybody. What'd he take from you?"
"Our pride," I admit. "He's working with the Trade Federation, like most of his kind are. He tricked us into buying thousands of crates for cargo, but they ended up being explosives. They detonated, blowing up half of a Star Destroyer and its crew."
"Aha, sounds like him," the alien chuckled. "Leave it to me, and you won't need to worry about him any longer."
~*~
After our little chat with Doonga, Anakin and I head over to the bar. We sit on tall stools, and order ourselves something to drink.
"You know," Anakin takes a sip of his drink, "this could work."
I too take a sip, "what could work?"
He sets his drink down with a ting of the glass, "us."
"I thought we decided not to become a thing," I explain. "Our relationship would be a secret. We would be living a lie."
"I don't care anymore," Anakin sighs.
I furrow my eyebrows, "why? What if the Council found out?"
"Because," he turns towards me, "I love you. And if the Jedi Council found out then that's too bad."
I look down at my hanging feet, "it doesn't work that way. We can't do this because we love each other, but because we can."
"Who says we can't?" Anakin throws his hands up.
I look back up with him, a little edge in my voice, "the Jedi Code, the Council."
A frown appears across Anakin's face, "can we talk somewhere in private? This isn't the place."
I nod to his suggestion, and we leave the pub.
~*~
It is dark when we arrive back at the lake house. The moonlight reflects off of the dark body of water.
"Welcome back!" One of the maidens greet Anakin and me.
I offer a smile, "thank you."
"Is there anything I can get you?" She asks.
I ponder on this for a moment. "Actually, you don't need to serve us. Tell you and your crew you are free to leave for the rest of the week."
She jumps in excitement, "thank you so much!" And skips away. I laugh a little about her enthusiasm. She must really hate her job. Anakin and I walk to the formal sitting room, and he stirs up a fire.
I sit down, "what more is there to talk about?"
He finishes up the fire, and sits next to me. "So much more. I love you, (Y/N)."
"I love you too," I sigh, "but this cannot work. How many times must I tell you?"
"You will never convince me to give us up," he declares.
I smile, "I've figured that out."
"I can't live without you," Anakin frowns.
"I can't either," I whisper. Slowly, we lean closer together, and our lips crash into the other. I place my hand on his jaw, the kiss becoming passionate. Anakin leans out by inches and rest his forehead against mine.
He whispers, "then marry me."
