《Living a Lie {Anakin Skywalker x Reader}》1

I was 13. As I sat just outside of the Jedi Council Chamber, a young boy walked in and sat across from me. He was probably a year or so older than me, with spiky light brown hair and a braid reaching just below his arm pit. His eyes though, were beautiful. They were bright blue, filled with hope and love. Those eyes kept a gaze on mine. The connection I felt between him was so intense. Both ends of his lips curved into a smile.

The boy sat up in his chair, "hello."

"Hi," I mumbled. My heart began to pick up its pace.

"My name is Anakin," he leaned towards me. "Anakin Skywalker. Pilot, Padawan, and mechanic."

"Pilot? Mechanic?" I tilted my head.

Anakin sat tall with pride, "yeah. I can fly just about anything, and fix just about anything. I built a droid, you know."

"Impressive." I had to admit, Anakin was very charming.

He opened his mouth, about to say something, when a Knight exited the Council Chamber. My turn.

I smiled at Anakin, "it was nice to have met you, Anakin."

He stood up, "but you never told me your name!"

Just as I was about to open the door I turned around and looked at Anakin. "We'll meet again. I have no doubt of it." And I meant it. I opened the door and walked into the Chamber, with my Master, Roland Argus.

I could barely hear Anakin say, "it was nice to meet you too," glumly outside the Chamber.

"(Y/L/N), Argus, it is good to see you," Mace Windu said from his chair.

"And to you," I bowed.

Master Argus smiled, "what has brought my apprentice here today, Master Windu?"

Mace let out a small laugh. This should be good. "Well, it's more for you. You see, Seperatists were found setting up a recon base on Yavin 4. The droid control ship is blocking our Jedi's signals on Endor."

"And you want... Me... To take down the base?" Master Argus furrowed his eyebrows.

Mace had a devilish smile on his face, "oh no, Master Argus. We want you to destroy the control ship."

"Take time on this, we should," Grand Master Yoda insisted.

Mace turned to the green alien, "we should take this as an opportunity to show the Jedi are in this war as much as the Republic. For the Republic. Democracy. If we get rid of the droids as soon as possible, we can get a chance to neutralize the forest moon."

"No time to waste, there is," Yoda started. "Agree with the decision, I do not."

"I will destroy the ship, Master Windu. When is my departure?" Master Argus asked.

Mace looked from Yoda, with disapproval on his face, back to my master, "you will leave tomorrow morning. (Y/N) will stay here. Good luck, and may the Force be with you." I wanted to argue that I go with, but decided not to.

"Thank you, Master Windu," Argus replied.

"Young (Y/L/N), nice to see you, it was," Yoda looked at me.

I smiled, "it was a pleasure to see you as well, Master Yoda." We walked out of the room, and I caught a glimpse of Anakin looking at me. I glanced over with a smile to acknowledge him. His smile widened.

Sweat was all across my forehead. I fought wave after wave of droids, slicing each one in half. As I sliced the last droid, I took my ten seconds before the next wave to meditate. I dropped to my knees and closed my eyes.

I shot up onto my feet as the wave began. Two ground assassin droids twirled their electrical staffs in the air. As they ran towards me, I began to run towards them. Blocking each of their strikes, I caught one off guard and sliced its head off. I chopped the second ones legs off. A droidekka and three super destroyer droids came into view. I penetrated the rolling machines force field and stabbed it, causing it to shut down. While I'm dodging bullets, I slice two of the droids in half. As I'm about to put my saber through the last droid, the sim shuts down and I feel I sting on my left leg.

"Ouch!" I yelped. "What happened?"

Master Argus slowly walked over to me, "the assassin droid wasn't dead. You may have sliced half its body, but it didn't die."

Frustrated, I harshly clipped my lightsaber to my belt and stomped out the room.

"(Y/N)!," Argus followed after me. "You must control your emotions. This takes patience, my young apprentice."

"I am under control!" I shout angrily. Shocked by my own actions, I apologize, "I'm sorry, Master."

"These things take time, (Y/N)," Master Argus paced around the room. "Listen, I think we should call it a night. I have to leave tomorrow morning for my mission."

"Okay," I nod. "I will see you in a few weeks."

"Indeed," Master Argus smiled. "Don't get into to much trouble, (Y/N)."

I laughed and he walked out of the room. Little did I know, that would be the last time I saw him.

"Good morning, Padmé," I greet the Senator.

She smiles, "hello, (Y/N)."

"Did you sleep sound last night, miss?" I ask her.

"Oh yes," Padmé walks over to the sitting area. "I sleep perfect knowing I have a Jedi protecting me."

"I am only a Padawan," I correct her.

She shook her head, "you are much more skilled than one."

"I take that with honor, miss," I smile proudly.

"I say that with honor," Padmé says. "And I wanted to inform you, we are having company."

"Who?" I ask.

"Two Jedi," she rolls her eyes, "they say I need more protection, especially with the explosion of the ship Corde was on." Her eyes began to look sad.

Perturbed by the fact they are bringing help when I'm here, I decide to comfort Padmé instead of complain, "it was not your fault, miss. Corde had her job, and you had yours."

"I just wish she didn't die, that's all," she frowned. I nodded in understanding.

"Hiysa, (Y/N)!" Jar Jar Binks skipped out of his room.

I laugh, "good morning, Jar Jar."

He walks over to the elevator, and Padmé, Captain Typho and I look over the balcony.

"Senator Padmé!" Jar Jar calls out. "Lookie lookie, Senator. Thesa Jedi arrived." We walked over to them.

"It is a great pleasure to see you again, M'lady," one of the Jedi bowed. He knew Padmé? This upset me even more.

"It has been far too long, Master Kenobi," she smiled.

Padmé looked at the other Jedi, "Annie? My goodness you've grown."

The Padawan's eyes sparkled, "so have you. Grown more beautiful, I mean. Well, for a Senator, I mean."

Padmé laughed and shook her head, "Annie, you'll always be that boy I knew on Tatooine." This bothered the Jedi.

I felt my cheeks began to heat up. For a weird reason, I became jealous. There was this weird connection between him and I. Did I know him?

Obi Wan looked at me, "I am Obi Wan Kenobi. You must be (Y/N) (Y/L/N). I have heard many great things about you from Padmé and the Council." He gestured towards his Padawan, "And this is my apprentice, Anakin Skywalker."

It hit me like a speeder. Anakin. It was him. The boy I met five years ago. Anakin looked at me, and his eyes widened. He gave me the same look when we first met.

"Nice to meet you Kenobi, Skywalker," I smiled.

Anakin walked towards me, "what's your name?" He grinned.

"My name is (Y/N). (Y/N) (Y/L/N). Pilot, and Padawan," I smirk.

He tilts his head, "pilot?"

"Been one since I became a Padawan. I can fly just about anything," I tease.

Anakin laughs, "impressive." We held each others gaze in silence.

Until Obi Wan broke it, "I suppose you two have met?"

"Something like that," Anakin was still staring at me. I blushed and glanced over at Padmé, who was obviously bothered by mine and Anakin's reunion.

Padmé sat down on the couch, and Anakin and Obi Wan sat down across from her. I stayed standing next to Captain Typho, trying to look official.

"Our presence here will be invisible, M'lady. I can assure you," Obi Wan said.

"I'm Captain Typho of her majesty's security service," Typho introduced himself to the Jedi. "Queen Jamilla has been informed of your assignment. I am grateful you are here, Kenobi. The situation is more dangerous than the Senator will admit."

Padmé looked at Typho, then to the Jedi. "I don't need more security, I need answers. I want to know who is trying to kill me."

Obi Wan answered, "we are here to protect you, Senator. Not to start an investigation."

Obi Wan looked at me and asked me and questioned, "what do you think of the matter, Jedi?"

I opened my mouth, about to speak, when Padmé answered, "actually, (Y/L/N) is only a Padawan learner."

I shot her a look of dissaproval, but she kept her attention on Anakin and Obi Wan.

"Anakin is only a Padawan, and I still ask him for his opinion, Senator Amidala. And she is a Jedi. At least she will soon," Obi Wan furrowed his eyebrows. Anakin looked at me and shrugged. "So tell me, (Y/N), what do make of this?" Obi Wan looked at me.

"I think there is no reason for you two to be here. Miss Amidala is perfectly safe under my watch. Plus security is alert here. There should be no worries," I tell them.

"We will not get in the way, and will find who is trying to kill Padmé, I promise you," Anakin chimed in.

Obi Wan looked at Anakin unapprovingly, "we will not exceed our mandate, my young Padawan learner."

Anakin looked at Padmé, "I meant in the interest of protecting Padme, Master, of course."

"We will not go through this exercise again Anakin. And you will pay attention to my lead," Obi Wan scowled.

"Why?" Anakin questioned.

Obi Wan looked suprised, "what?"

"Why else do you think we were assigned to her if we were not to find the killer. Protection is a job for local security, not Jedi. That's overkill, Master. Investigation is implied in our mandate," Anakin said. Was he saying I was security? Did he have the nerve?

"We will do exactly as the council has instructed," Obi Wan said sternly. "And you will learn your place, young one."

Anakin's face softened.

"Perhaps with merely your presence, the mystery surrounding this threat will be revealed. Now if you'll excuse me, I will retire " Padmé said. Everyone stood up and Padmé and Norde left. Obi Wan and Typho walked off and talked.

"Mesa bustin with joy to seesa you again, Annie!" Jar Jar said to Anakin.

He looked over at Padmé who was now entering her room, "she barely even recognized me Jar Jar."

"She was pleased to see you," I insist.

Anakin looked at me, "not as pleased as I was to see you."

*******

Night fell across Coruscant. I was sitting on Padmé's bed, talking to her.

I decided to change the topic. I was sick of hearing about politics, "so, how do you know Anakin and Obi Wan"

"They're old friends," she glanced out the door at the two talking on the couch.

"Oh," I follow her glance and catch Anakin looking at me. I've never turned my head quicker. Honestly, I hated the way he looked at me. Kinda...

"So you and Anakin have met prior to this as well?" she raises an eyebrow.

"You could say that..."
