Kageyama was shaking from head to toe.
Hinata peaked open one of his golden-brown eyes up at him, his cheeks a cute, blazing red, and his orange hair sticking up in every which way as he laid down under Kageyama. Kageyama bared his teeth angrily, small beads of sweat dripping down his face.
"G-gyaaa! I'm sorry Kageyama!" Hinata stammered, turning away, "that was totally your ball just now, huh? I'm really sorry!!"
"Wow, they sure bite it!" Tanaka exclaimed. He came running up to the two fallen boys, followed by most of the worried volleyball club. The two had token quite a tumble.
Kageyama felt like his entire skin was on fire as he balled up his fists that were right beside Hinata's head.
"Are you two ok?" asked Nishinoya
"Any injuries?" Daichi questioned them worriedly.
"No! We're both fine!" Hinata told everyone, sitting up onto his elbows. Kageyama stayed silent, not understanding a damn thing.
Hinata noticed Kageyama's silence. "You're fine, aren't you Kageyama?" Hinata asked him. His eyes were wide with anticipation. He tugged lightly on Kageyama's shirt while still laying under him, completely unaware of how it made Kageyama's heart jump straight into his throat.
Kageyama couldn't take it...
Kageyama snapped up, slapping Hinata's hand in the process as he jumped onto his feet. Hinata looked just as surprised as Kageyama felt.
The dark-haired boy wiped his sweat lightly with the edge of his shirt. A little out of breath, he asked, "Captain... may I be excused for a bit?"
"Huh? Did you hurt something?" Daichi, the captain of the volleyball club, asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Shimizu!" Sugawara called to Kiyoko, who was just about to call the school nurse, "they're ok!"

Kageyama had to run away before it all came tipping over and he can't do anything to stop it. Without a second thought, Kageyama turned on his heel sand run straight out of the gym. He needed some air-
"Kageyama?" Kageyama heard Hinata say in a soft whisper as he sprinted out the door.
"Eh-- hey!" Sugawara called out. He wasn't supposed to skip out on club practice and he never would usually but in this case, he had to leave before he thought things-
Kageyama then stood outside the gym after slowly walking out, the cold wind blowing the trees all around him. He stared down at the concrete ground. His cheeks were on fire and he could not get his heart to stop pounding! He was reminiscing what happened before to allow him to be on top of Hinata...
Hinata was trying to receive the ball that was given to Kageyama, ramming his orange head straight into Kageyama's chest sending them both tumbling to the gym floor. Hinata fell on top of Kageyama but Kageyama was able to flip the two over ending in him on top of Hinata instead. There was a moment where Kageyama forgot where he was. Who he was
The way Hinata looked under him was an amazing sight.. The blush dusting his cheeks, the wide golden eyes, the warm skin...
The gym went silent as Hinata laid down, twitching with his butt up high in the air and his face smushed painfully into the gym floor. He snaps himself up again. He was like a ball, always bouncing back up again.
"Geez Kageyama-san! Do you have any idea how many times that's been now!" Hinata angrily grumbled, rubbing the cheek that was hit with a volleyball. The ball was slowly rolling away into a corner. "You're doing that on purpose!"

It was true that Kageyama just kept on messing up his sets but it wasn't like he meant to. He knows more than anyone how off his timing is. He just kept getting distracted by-...
"Sorry." Kageyama rubbed his hand while turning away from Hinata's death glare.
Kageyama walked away, his face in his arm while Hinata was still sitting on his knees.
Kageyama stuck his head under one of the faucets that were outside the gym meant to fill all their water bottles. He let the cold water run down his head.
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi watched from afar. "Kaegayama's been really off his game lately," Yamaguchi said to Tsukishima in a hushed tone.
"He obviously lacks focus," Tsukishima said back without hesitation.
Kaegayama could hear them, all of them in the volleyball club, talking about how he's been losing his focus lately. How if he doesn't get any better, they'll lose. The water "shhhhh" right over his ears, drowning it all out, but only slightly.
"Hey... did you by any chance... get hurt t-the other day when I ran into you?" Hinata asked Kageyama nervously, leaning over him.
Kageyama gripped the side of the sink. Kageyama lifted up his head in slow, careful movement. He turned off the tap and it squeaked loudly in response. The water dripped into his eyes, blinding him from looking at Hinata along with him just refusing to. He grabbed the towel hanging from his shoulders and dried his wet, black hair. "No, that's not it," he said simply.
"Yeah, I figured!" Hinata sighed, clearly relieved. Kageyama remained silent as he continued to focus on drying his wet hair. "Then maybe it's just that.. you had an off few days," Hinata said then turned himself around.
Kageyama watched him. Hinata pumped his fist and smiled brightly, the way he always does. It was a quiet celebration."Hey, after practice today, do you want to do some solo-practice?" Hinata asks him innocently. The drip from the faucet seemed to echo them. "We can do some tosses!"
The world surrounding Hinata was sparkly again, Kageyama's heart rate quickening in response the way it always does when he stares at Hinata for too long. Before Kageyama knew it, his hand was reaching out to Hinata's shoulder that was slowly drawing him closer. Hinata jolted in surprise.
"Wha-what?" Kageyama breathed. He looked scary to Hinata, looming over him. Kageyama looked at his hand for a moment, lost for words. Hinata looked over his shoulder at him with a confused expression...
Kageyama knew he had to run away. Now, before he did something. Something wrong.
He pushed past Hinata, stomping his feet away from him.
"Wait!! Kageyama?" Hinata yelled, "hey! What's wrong?" Hinata reached out and grabbed the edge of Kageyama's shirt. Kageyama froze, something tingling up his spine at the touch. He didn't want to like it. "Wait a sec, Kageyama!" Hinata desperately followed.
"Don't touch me!!" Kageyama yelled. He shoved Hinata down onto the dirty floor, pushing him away. Hinata fell onto his butt with a grunt.
"Hinata." Kageyama stared down at the ground then brought his head up, looking directly at the orange-haired boy staring up at him with wide eyes. "From now on, stay away from me outside of the court."
Kageyama walked away from him.
