"You want me to do what?"
Your father put a hand on your shoulder and sighed. "We've talked about this (Y/N)."
"Yeah," you laughed humorlessly, "but I thought you were joking. I never, in my wildest dreams, would think that you'd set me up to marry someone I don't even know. I'm only 18, I'm not even supposed to think about getting married."
"I'm sorry," he said. "But you have to."
"No I don't." You brushed your father's arm off of your shoulder and took a step away from him. "I'm a legal adult and I don't have to do what you say."
"Please, (Y/N)," you father begged.
You've never seen him so desperate. You knew things weren't going well at work, but you never thought that it would lead you into an arranged marriage. "Our family need this marriage. If you don't, then everyone at our company will lose their job; I would lose my job. I can't let that happen. Thousands of people work there, (Y/N), you know that.
"The only way we can stay alive in our business is if we join together with another company. The man that runs that company will only let us do that if our children get married. You know how traditional our society is."
You closed your eyes. Why did it have to be you? If only you had a sister instead of a brother. Your brother had always been the family favourite, and there was no denying that. He'd get to do anything he could ever want and your parents wouldn't say a word against it.
A word to describe this?
Favouritism.
Against your better reasons, you still had to ask. "Don't guilt me into this. Why couldn't you marry my brother off? He does nothing!"
Your father sighed. "He's in college (Y/N)."
"I'm going into university."
"And you can still go," he said. "I never said anything about you not going. Also, your brother is in the middle of a semester, it would be idiotic of us to do that. His grades could drop from the sudden pull from school."

"He dropped out last semester!" You yelled at him.
Horror crossed you father's face. "How could you say that? Don't bring your brother into this just because you don't want to this. You are going to do this either way. Besides, he's a boy"
"So? There is nothing wrong gay marriage," you said.
Your father rubbed his eyes. Clearly seeing that you were not going to budge, he decided to compromise. "At least meet him, okay? I'll think of another way if you don't like him. Deal?"
You glared at him, but nodded. "Fine, but that's not going to easy on your part."

You had to put on a dress. Though it was a nice dress, it didn't change the fact that you hated dresses. It was a royal blue dress with a thick band of white silk around your waist, but you refused to give up your (shoe that you always wear). You father stood beside you as you walked into the boardroom where your father worked.
Neither you or your father had spoken to each other in the time between your fight and now.
You reluctantly stepped into the room.
A man, about your father's age, sat at the head of a long rectangular table. He's glasses were perched at the tip of his nose that made him look older. On his left was a boy your age. He looked uncomfortable in his suit. His hair was sticking up into to spikes and a streak of blonde hair that hung in front of his face.
It was his way to rebel against the way his parents controlled his life. He went out one day and just did it. When he went home, he got the scolding of a lifetime, but not once did he regret it.
"Ah, thank you for joining us," the man said. He stood up from his spot and bowed slightly to and your father and your father did the same in return.

The man turned his attention to you. "You are much prettier than your father described."
It sounded like an insult. You raised your eyebrows slightly towards your father, but he gave you a stern look.
"Umm...thanks. I haven't been told that before," you laughed nervously.
An awkward silence followed.
The man clapped his hands together and sat down once again. "Yu, why don't you and (Y/N) go out, get to know each other. Make sure to show her a good time." His voice changed. The nice voice that he used towards you and your father was gone the second his turned towards his son.
His son, Yu, immediately stood up and bowed to his father. "Yes, sir."
He got out of his chair and pushed it back under the table. You were still standing at the door, watching the exchange.
He walked towards you and gently grabbed your wrist, leading you out of the room.

You and Nishinoya were walking down the street in complete silence.
"So...I'm Nishinoya Yu," he said. He looked at you with expectancy in his eyes, but you didn't say anything.
"Not much of a talker?"
Nothing.
He was starting to get impatient. His hand was starting to tap on the side of his hip and he was clicking his tongue. You were about to cross the street, but the light turn red, so you both stood there in silence.
When the light turned green, you moved to go, but Nishinoya put his arm in front of you and turn you around.
"You know that I don't want to be here as much as you, right?" he said. "I want to live my life, play volleyball and not really care about anything until I'm older. I can tell that you don't want to be here, or in this situation, but if you try it might not be as terrible."
You tilted your head up so that you were looking at him. "My name is (L/N) (Y/N)."
He gave you the brightest smile and nodded. "It's nice to meet you."
The light turned green again, and Nishinoya grabbed your hand carefully and lead you across the street. Once you both were safely on the other side of the road, you decided to try.
"Does your father normally talk to you like that?"
He shrugged and gave you a sad smile. "He expects a lot from me. I think that he sees me more like an heir than a son."
"That sucks." He didn't quite answer your question, but you let it go.
"Yeah." He nodded. "If you don't want to marry me, you don't have too. I know you're being forced into this."
"Aren't you too?" you asked.
"Kind of," he shrugged. "I want to focus on my volleyball career, but I know that I'll have to give that up one day and take over the company. I'm trying to play as much as possible before I have to give up my dream."
You didn't answer to that. His situation was much worse than yours. Your father said that you could do whatever, study whatever, as long as you were happy. Nishinoya didn't have this choice. All you had to do was sign a paper, but he had to sign his life away.
"You could run away."
He laughed. "Already tried, twice. They found me both times."
"Then I guess you're stuck with me," you smiled at him.
"I guess so," he smiled back.
Maybe marrying him wouldn't be so bad.
