It was unbreakable....
Until some one did...
And they were never the same...

Before
You had found the person you'd have in your life forever and you were happy.
You and Tsukishima were lucky enough to have found each other at a young age. The red string burst with life when they walked into the same classroom their first year of school, ever.
The string looped around their left ring finger and bonded them. It was the same finger that people used when they got married, it was known to have a vein that lead straight to the heart.
Everyone was shocked to see the strong red light when you two connected. Most people didn't meet their red string person until they were in high school.
Tsukishima was sitting at his desk doing homework. The night has already fallen, but being a second year made the workload harder. You were lying on his floor, not wanting to go on the bed that was filled with dinosaur plushies.
He'd let you do almost anything in the world and wouldn't care. You could kill a person and he would help you hide the body. But the one thing he didn't stand for was the disturbance of his dinosaur collection.
"Are you almost done?" you asked.
You were slowly standing up, making your way to him, a smiled painted on you face. You placed both of your hands on his shoulders and rested your chin on his left shoulder.
"Huh?" he said. His eyes never left the math problem that was in front of him. Though the problem was fairly easy, since it was review from year one, he just stared at it.

"Do you need help? The floor isn't very comfortable and you don't let me on your bed with the dinosaurs on it," you said.
"No, I don't need your help. I'm just tired," he said lamely.
Your smile faded. "You say that all the time. There's nothing wrong to want help."
His head whipped towards you. There were dark circles around his eyes, indicating that he wasn't sleeping. You already new that he wasn't sleeping, but whenever you tried to help, he would wave you off.
"There is. It's review (Y/N), I can do this in my sleep."
"If you can't do it when your awake, I doubt you could do it when you're asleep," you mumbled moving away from him.
He glared at you. It wasn't one of those playful glares. It was a glare that you never saw him use towards you, only people who was a stranger and wanted someone.
But you weren't a stranger. You were so much more than that.
"If you don't like being on the floor then you can go home. I didn't ask you to be here."
You opened your mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Words that came so easily to you, died in your throat, and spread through your body. You took a step back and shook you head. You grabbed your messenger bag and looked back at him.
"Fine," you said and left.
Tsukishima stood up. The sound of his door slamming shut echoed through his brain. It became louder as your shut his front door.
He sighed and looked at his bed. The stuffed dinosaurs looked at him with fake eyes and plastered smiles. He glared at them.
He threw his closet door opened at started throwing each dinosaur in it. There was a slam as it hit the back of the closet and a thud when it hit the floor. When he didn't find anymore animals on his bed, his walked over to the closet and locked it shut.

He didn't sleep that night. He just stared at the plain white sheets that covered his bed.
•──────⋅☾ ☽⋅──────•
It was early in the morning when you arrived back at your house. All of the lights in your house was off. Your parents were probably expecting you to stay over at Tsukishima's house.
All of the time that you've known him, he had never spoken to you like that. There was a tug at your stomach just thinking about what happened that night.
A sharp pain crawled up you left arm. You looked down. As always, the red string was there, tied to your left ring finger, but something was off.
It was dull.
•──────⋅☾ ☽⋅──────•
The next day of school was worse. Being in the same class, you had to see him again. A pit was in your stomach the entire day of not talking to him. Since you've meet him, there has never been a day where you haven't spoken to him.
The pit in your stomach only grew throughout the day. You kept glancing at him, hoping he was looking at you, hoping there was at least something inside of him that wanted to apologize. But he only kept his headphones on, his head down, and occasionally exchanging words with Yamaguchi.
For the first time ever, you ate lunch alone.
•──────⋅☾ ☽⋅──────•
You stood in front of Tsukishima's door. It had been a few days since you last spoken to each other.
It was pure torture.
Everyday you tried to talk to him, and everyday you got nothing in return.
Your hand kept making a move for the doorbell, but then your brain said something, and it fell. It was after school and you were doing this for five minutes before the door opened. Tsukishima towered over you like the first time you had met. Except this time he didn't meet your eyes.
"Did you need something?" he asked. The last time you talked to each other he sounded angry, but now he just sounded tired.
"Why are you avoiding me?" you asked. You lost your patience and just wanted answer from a the person who never kept secrets from you.
"I'm not avoiding you," he said still not making eye contact with you.
You sighed. "That's bullshit." There was so much power in you voice that he flinched away from you. You even flinched yourself.
What shocked you the most was that you didn't even know the reason why he was treating you like this. There was no reason to any of this.
"I—I don't know what you want me to say," he said.
"I don't care what you say!" you said, you hands flying up as you did. "At least talk to me, say something, anything. Why are you so cold to me? What did I do? Give me a reason! Something! We are fated to have each other in our lives no matter what."
Tsukishima sighed and pushed his glasses up to rub his eyes. "Sometimes even fate isn't meant to be."
You stared at him.
And just like that, you felt the string snap and the light died.

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy.
