《Haikyuu!! AUs (x Reader)》Hinata Shoyo - Breather

You were laying in the tall grass just outside to castle. You were bringing your breathing back down to a normal pace after training with your father.
You sucked in a large breath of the cold night air and sat up from your spot.
"(Y/N)?" you heard the Prince call from behind you, "what are you doing this late at night?"
You turned your body to the young Prince as you stood from your spot. Bowing, you replied, "My apologies your highness. I'm sorry if I worried you. I was just getting some air after my training. I thought the sky looked beautiful, so I decided to take my breather out here."
"(Y/N)," he said as you straightened your back. "You shouldn't call me 'your highness.' We've known each other for too long for you to call me that. Please, just call me by my name."
"Your highness, as much as I would love to, we aren't aloud to refer to each other so casually until you are crowned. That's still in 8 years. Then, and only then, will you have the authority to allow such a thing."
The Prince sat down next to your feet and motioned for you to join him.
"You will be here until I'm 18, right?"
You nodded firmly. "Of course, I will."
"And when you become a knight, you will protect me, right?" he asked quietly, staring at the shining lights above.
You waved your hand slightly to produce a rose, as if it was made of air.
"I will protect you with everything I have, Hinata."

"Your highness, you wished for my presence?" you asked as you kneeled in front of the king.
The man on the large throne coughed slightly before he spoke, making sure his voice would be clear.
"The neighbouring kingdom; they have demanded the engagement of my son and their princess. If we don't comply, they will attack," he said solemnly.
You stared at the ground in hatred. Your eyes squinted as your breathing began to shake.
"(Y/N)," he said informally. "I relied on your father in such situations but—" he cut himself short.
"You, at only 17, are our kingdom's head of protection against enemies. You are strong," he spoke loudly in the large room. "And I know that it will be the hardest thing to do, but I wish for you to take him to their kingdom and be the best knight we have."

The king placed his large hand on your metal covered shoulder.
"I want my son to be safe. You're the only one capable of providing such protection to Hinata, and to the kingdom. Please."
You lifted your head to look at the red-headed king. "When are we set to leave?" you asked as your heart raced.
"At day break."
•──────⋅☼⋅──────•
"We head north, make sure the path is clear. They demanded we arrive my noon. We do not want to find out if we arrive late." You set of in front of the carriage where Hinata slept, speaking to a group of knights.
"If anything occurs, you have your abilities to rely on. But you follow my command."
The group saluted and mounted their horses. Using their magic, they created light to guild the way along the path.
You sat on the horse guiding the carriage. Looking up at the sky you saw that the once bright star were beginning to fall over the horizon and the was rising across from them.
"Let's go."
•──────⋅☼⋅──────•
You and the rest of the group had been traveling for a few hours through the woods.
Despite it being a couple hours till noon, it was dark due to the coverage of the thick woods.
You pulled on your cape, a bright blue one, showing your level in the hierarchy. It kept the warmth from your body close to you and kept you from the cold.
A snap was heard.
You raised your hand, signaling to your subordinates to stop moving. They closed their hands, shutting of any light that had been useful.
You all stayed quite for a few seconds before you spoke up.
"It was probably just a dee—"
Pain shot through your body as you fall of your horse. You scrambled to your feet to hear the clanking of metal around you.
"Everyone! Head back you the castle," you yelled.
"And what will happen to you?" one of the knights yelled back.
"Don't question an order, go!"
One jumped on your horse and quickly lead the large group away from the area.
You stood alone in a dark forest trying to face the attacker.
"Who are you?" you called out swinging your purple looking cape around you.
You stood guarded, hands ready to fight and place a spell on anyone in the area.

It was quiet. You sound could be heard but your own breathing. But your breathing was cut short.
"I'm your worst nightmare, Princy."
Princy?
"(Y/N)!"
•──────⋅☼⋅──────•
"You idiot."
"How was I supposed to know that she was the knight?! It was dark you know."
When you opened your eyes, you looked up to see what looked like a ten year old yelling at someone twice her age.
"We'll, for one she's a girl!"
"She has a fairly manly voice for a woman."
Your blurry eyes looked down at your hunched self. From what you could tell, you were still in your armor, but both your arms and legs seemed to be tied around a pile that was placed behind you.
"Oh," the annoying girl's voice called. "She's awake."
You looked at the girl who sat on the throne as if she was supposed to be there.
"Hmm, what to do with you?" she sneered kerning on close to your bruised face.
"I suggest you back it up pixie dust, or your gonna get a face full of hate coming your way," you growled.
"Ooh, I'm so scared. Ya, right, tin man. You can't do anything. I've got you captive. And despite wanting the Prince. I guess I could use you for ransom though. Now kneel in front of your new leader," she yelled, holding out a wooden cane as if she knew how you use it.
"I'm already on them, twinkle," you grunted, fiddling with the rope on your wrists.
"Then get lower," she said, kneeling in front of you.
You looked her in the eye and smirked, letting your arms fall to your sides as you stood up in front of her tiny form.
"You know," you said, cracking your knuckles. The girl looked at you shocked.
"I would normally refrain from fighting a child."
She stood up in front of you and glared into your eyes.
"But in this instance, I'll let my person rules slide."
You laid your flat of your hand on her stomach sending her backwards into the rustic throne.
You continued to swing your arms in patterned motions, knocking out guards that ran towards you from multiple directions.
You tried to avoid most attacks, but you did end up denting your armor and ripping your cape a couple times.
The last man fell to the wooded floor and you got him in the head. You panted and turned your body to the large chair where the small girl hid.
You swiftly grabbed the front of her dress and slammed her down onto the throne.
"And another thing," you leaned in close to her panting form. "You never want to mess with a kingdom known for magic."
You flung her onto the closest wall and limped out of the now silent castle.
It was 7 hours by horse approximately and you could likely get back to your Prince by foot in 21. That is, if you didn't die of hunger first.
•──────⋅☼⋅──────•
About 5 hours into your travel, your body began to give way to fatigue and hunger.
You leaned against a tree, almost hoping it could provide you with more abilities than you already had, but everyone has limits.
And you, probably the strongest knight your kingdom has seen, were at yours.
You pushed your back against the tree and let your body slide down to the muddy ground.
At least I kept Hinata safe.
•──────⋅☼⋅──────•
"Where is she!?"
"Your highness, you mustn't go in there. She must rest."
"Don't tell me what to do! She's my best friend, let me see her."
When you woke up, you were out of your armor and your head was turned to the side in an uncomfortable position.
You groaned as you sat up in the bed.
"Ow."
The door slammed open and in came a red-headed boy, heart racing.
"You're okay," he panted, running into your arms.
"Your highness I—"
"Hinata. My name is Hinata, and you will call me that," he said, pushing his face deeper into your neck. You placed your hands on his side and tried to pry him off of you.
"Your highne—"
"That's an order." He tightened his grip as his hands began to play with your (H/L)(H/C) hair.
"Hinata," you said, letting your arms relax around his frame.
"Ya?" he asked quietly.
"I'm sorry," you sighed.
"It's ok."
"Hinata?" you asked again.
"Hmm?" he nuzzled the arch of his nose into your shoulder.
"Could we go outside?"
"Why? It's warm here," he said, still not letting go of you.
"I know. I just need a breather."

The cover is from: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fire_in_darkness_-_LOHDI.JPG No copyright infringement was intended from the use of this cover. If the original owner of the picture wants me to take it down, please message me and I will do so, as quickly as possible. Notice 2: This is my first novel, it would be great if you guys can give me feedback (in the form of comments) as it progresses, especially in the first few chapters. I am planning to make this novel at least a few hundred chapters long. Otherwise, thank you for reading my novel. Wild Steam
Get on a train. Head east. Get on a ship. Travel further east, in style. See some wonders of the world. Find what was lost. Find where home is. How hard is any of that?Well, for Jake Ranger, pretty damned hard. The world being a wild, crazy mess from a global altering event called the Shattering doesn’t help much. Nor does being a famous folk hero. That last one really sucks, because people always run up to famous heroes and beg them for help with all their problems. Then there are the actual outlaws and monsters. They don’t help much either. Mostly they just get in the way and make everything way worse. And in a world that is so screwed up decades after the Shattering, there is a lot of variety to both outlaw and monster. Then there are the more civilized, (read: sane), non-human folk, and good old humans as well. They all get along just spectacularly. Totally best friends, on every level, for life. Of course getting to the east coast is only half the battle. Once there, he must contend with the so-called “civilized people.” Then there’s the ship ride; pirates and sea monsters are a thing too, after all. Should have read the brochure. But when the chips are down, the bad guys are winning and the wild winds of chaos are blowing, it helps to have a fighter on your side. Even if he is a little wild. After all, that’s not really a problem. That’s what beautiful women and lots of gold is for. Proper motivation is always key to success. Welcome to a Steampunk, Wild West, Victorian era, Lovecraftian infested, fantasy, shoot ‘em up world. Complete with a slow build harem of badass beautiful women, crazy adventures, and fun, monstrous villains. Welcome to the world of Wild Steam. Do enjoy your stay.
