"Father, I'm going into town," you called to your father as you grabbed a basket.

"Oh, okay. Be careful," he called as he pushed himself from under the large machine.

"Nothing's going to happen father. Not here, at least."

"Still, you never know," he said as he walked up to you.

"Okay father." You kissed his cheek. "I'll be back soon."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Bonjour."

"Hello."

"Bonjour."

"Good day."

You made your way through the town's people, greeting them as you went.

"Monsieur!" you called. "Is there any bread to spare?"

"Ah, (Y/N). How's your father? He ate all the bread again?" the baker said, placing the food into your basket.

"He's doing fine. That stomach of his never stops though. Thank you!" You placed some of your coins in his hand before continuing through the village.

"What a strange girl."

Opening the wooden doors to the small library, you called for the owner, "Bonjour? Monsieur? Are you here?"

"Ah, (Y/N)! You're here! I was wondering when you'd show up," The librarian called from the back.

"Ya, I would been here sooner, but I had to pick up some bread for my father," you said, pulling a red book from your basket and placed it on the shelf.

"Any particular book you're looking for this time?"

Climbing the available ladder, you grabbed one with a blue spine and cover that matched your dress. "This one."

"That one? Again? But you've read that five times now. Aren't you tired of it?"

"Of course not. It's an amazing story of a girl who meets a prince in disguise and later finds out when she saves him from danger," you said, swinging on the ladder, making it role to the other side of the book shelf.

"Well, then, keep it!"

"What?" you asked, jumping of the ladder and rubbing your sore hands together.

"Keep it. It's yours."

"Really? Thank you so much!" you yelled, running out the door.

"Such a strange girl."

You sat at the edge of the fountain in the middle of town. The amount of people walking around diminished as you continued to read your book. It was calm and quiet for the most part, well it always was.

"Ahh, Oikawa~"

"Girls, girls. I know I'm handsome, but that doesn't mean you need squeal quietly," the man said, hands on the waist of his red coat.

"Aw," the triplets sighed in dismay.

"It means you need to squeal loudly." He winked at the girls.

The girls sighed and leaned on the bench for support as they watched him walk away.

"(Y/N)! What a coincidence, I was just looking for you."

"Then it's not a coinci—"

"Anyway, how would you like to go on a date with moi?" he asked sitting next to you.

"Date? No, thank you Oikawa. I don't want to—"

"Oh, what's this? A book? Wait, how do you understand this, it has no pictures?" he asked, grabbing the book from your hand.

Snatching the book back, you stood up from the fountain wand walked away.

"I read. Maybe you should try it sometime."

He looked after you longingly. "I'm going to marry that girl."

"Father, I'm home!"

The next day you walked into a silent home.

"Father?"

"Down here, darling!"

You opened the door to the basement to be met with dark grey fumes.

"Father," you coughed. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, darling," he called as you went down the stairs. "It's just a little hard to breath."

Once the fumes cleared you saw your father sitting on a chair in front of his machine.

"Father, it's not healthy down here. Come on, let's go upstairs," you said, grabbing his arm.

"No, no. It's alright. Oh, Oikawa stopped by earlier, he asked if you were home. Anything you think he needed?" he asked.

"I sure hope not."

"Well, why not?" your father asked, wiping some grease onto his pants. "He's a fine gentlemen who will protect you."

"Yeah, protect me from ducks and books. He's incompetent and I'd rather not have to deal with him on a daily basis," you said, crossing your arms.

"Oh, well. Head upstairs. He said he would drop by later. You might as well get rid of him when you can, right?"

Nodding, you left your father to his work and exited the basement as a knock sounded from the door.

"(Y/N)~ I know you're home. I saw you walk in earlier. Let me in, I have a proposal."

Opening the door, you were met with an Oikawa decorated with medals and his red uniform.

"(Y/N), have you ever thought of settling down?"

"Um, no, actually."

"No?" he said, plopping himself down on a chair. "Wrong answer. You actually have thought of settling down, with me."

He grabbed your hand and pulled you down to his sitting height.

"So, what do you say? Marry me? You could watch over our ten children as I go hunting, make me food, and wash my sweaty clothes. Doesn't it sound amazing?"

You pulled away from the brunette and walked to the back door for a quick escape. A hand grabbed your shoulder, turning you around and pushing you against the door.

"So, what do you say?" His breath reeked of beer, and his arm leaned against the door next to your head.

You grabbed the door handle behind you. "Will you marry me?" he asked.

"Um, maybe when I die," you said, and then turned the handle and ducked out of the way.

Oikawa fell face first into a pile of mud. You kicked his legs out of the house and slammed the door.

"Well, it wasn't a no."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Okay, father. Do you have everything you need?" You asked, adjusting the collar of his jacket.

"Yes, sweetie. I have everything."

"Okay," you sighed. "They are going to love your invention. Good luck."

You two bid your goodbyes and your father hopped on his horse and rode down the path away from home.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

You were about to get dressed and go to sleep when the sudden neigh of a horse caused you to stop.

"Father?"

You draped your cape over your shoulder and put on the hood as you exited your house.

You saw your father's horse rip itself off of the attached cart and run toward you.

"Woah, woah, slow down. Where's father? Where is he?"

The horse whined and continued to move around.

"Take me to father."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

You approached the large gloomy castle that seemed haunted in the dark.

You pushed the gate open and got off your father's horse. But as soon as you got off, the horse roped from your grip on the leather strap.

You hissed and gently rubbed the palms of your hands.

Entering the large castle, you grabbed a torch that was sitting on the wall next to the large doors.

"Bonjour? Hello? Anybody there?"

As you walked, there were small sound that seemed loud in the empty area.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Suga! There's a girl!"

"Hinata, what are you talking about?"

"A girl. I saw her!" the small tea cup bounced around.

"That's absurd. There is no girl in the castle," Daichi said as the hands of his clock moved. "It's midnight anyway. No one would be here at this time."

"Father!" a feminine voice called in the distance.

"It seems that's where you're wrong," Yamauchi said, his candles flickering as he moved.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Father!"

You sobbed as the large doors of the castle slammed closed.

"You didn't even let me say good bye."

"Come with me."

"Why?" you asked, looking into his dark blue eyes.

"You'll be staying here. You at least deserve a room."

When you entered the room, the beast stood in the doorway.

"You will be joining me for dinner. That is not an option. Oh, and never go into the North tower. It's forbidden." He slammed the door as he left.

You stood frozen, staring at the door he left from as tears began to stream down your face. "He's a monster."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

The was a small knock on the door, followed by a gentle voice.

"Hello? I'm coming in."

There was a small tapping sound.

"He wishes for your presence at dinner."

"I'm not hungry." you spoke into the pillow.

There was a sigh, followed by the tapping again and the closing door.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"She's not coming down," Suga said.

"And why not?" the Prince roared.

"Kageyama. Don't you think, maybe, that you were a little harsh?" Yamaguchi said.

"I wasn't harsh in any way. She was asked to be here, so she should be here," Kageyama growled.

"Um, sir. You never did ask. You ordered. She's been in her room for days and you haven't tried to be sincere," Suga said as Hinata bounced around him.

"Fine," he sat on his cushioned chair. "I'll ask her to eat."

The workers of the castle sighed in relief.

"Tomorrow," the Prince continued.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Are you really going to wear that?" the wardrobe asked.

"Yes, that is there a problem. You've been wearing that blue thing for ages. You need something new," the wardrobe said as it opened its cupboards.

"Choose something. They're all better than what you've got on now," he said.

The group of workers we're on the bed watching as you chose a dress from their co-worker.

"Tsukki, don't you think your being a little rude?" Yamaguchi asked.

"What? No."

Straight to the point I see.

"Ok, fine. I'll wear this one, happy?" you asked, taking out a pink dress.

"Hmm. It'll do. To bad there isn't anything we can do about the whole face situation."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

Days went by and at some point, you found yourself wandering the castle. Not following the given orders by the beast, you made your way up to the North wing.

Your steps echoed through the castle as you walked up the staircase. Pushing the door open at the top, you were met with a destroyed room with only a table intact.

Walking in, you surveyed the room. On the walls were paintings of a boy. He has slick black hair and dark blue eyes, both contrasting with his pale skin. A large painting, probably the most recently made, had three large rips running a cross it. You pushed the pieces together and formed the image of the boy.

You continued to look around. Your eyes landed on the untouched table as you made your way towards it.

Surrounded by glass was a glowing rose, a few of its dead petals sat at the bottom and had lost their glow. Next to the glass was a mirror that seemed to glow with colour like the rose. You reached your arm out to pick up the glass.

"What are you doing here."

Gasping at the growl, you turned around to see the Beast in front of you.

"I was just—"

"Get out." He growled.

"But—" you began.

"I said get out!"

Tears began to pool in your eyes as you ran out of the room and to the exit of the castle.

The sound of wood breaking rang through your ears as you left.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Stay still. This may hurt," you said, dipping the cloth in water.

"I'll be the one who—AAAAAHHHH! That hurts!" The beast yelled.

"Shh, calm down," you said holding his hand. "It'll be okay."

You dabbed the injured areas with the wet cloth, you stroked his... paw, gently.

"Thank you."

"Would you look at that," Suga said.

"Look at what, Suga?" Hinata asked, bouncing next to the tea pot.

"Yes, what is there, Suga?" Daichi asked.

"Something that wasn't there before," Suga replied looking at everyone.

"What's there, Suga?" Hinata asked.

"Oh, you'll understand when you're older."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"I would like for you to join me in the ball room."

"Why?"

"I have something for you."

You were forced into a yellow dress by the wardrobe. You stepped into a ball room and made your way down the stairs.

The beast stood at the bottom in a blue suit.

"Care to dance?"

You placed your hand in his and the other on his shoulder.

You two spun around the large room, each turn seemed make your dress expand in size.

You rested your head on his chest and continued to dance around the room.

"There is one more thing," he said.

You looked up at him and tilted your head slightly.

"What is it?"

He lead you away from the ball room and to another door that had golden patterns all around it.

"So many books," you gasped, opening the doors.

"Too bad I never learned to read," he looked at you. "It's yours."

"What?" you asked.

"The library, it's yours."

"No, not that. The fact that you don't know how to read. I'm going to teach you."

"What?" he asked.

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Please, take it," he said handing you the mirror.

"I can't; I won't," you whispered, trying to stay strong despite being in such a weak state.

"Please. You need to go home. Your father needs you and to don't deserve to be here."

You slowly latched your hand onto the all seeing mirror and looked into his dark eyes.

"I'll be back, I promise."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"KILL THE BEAST!"

"Oikawa, no!"

You know how the story goes. The girl goes home. Village gets mad and murderous. And the one that wanted you for no other reason besides your looked tried to kill the one you really care for.

"No!"

You pushed Oikawa off the beast. But in a daze of your own, you pushed to hard.

Oikawa's scream was heard as he tumbled off of the ledge and down to the sharp rocks bellow. His death waiting for him at the bottom.

You slowly looked behind you to the creature laying on the ground in pain.

"Don't move. Please," you cried. "It will only be worse if you move."

You bent down over the beast and held his hand. You rested his head on your lap and strokes his fur softly.

"Please... Be okay," you whimpered as his breath became shallow.

You felt his pulse begin to dissipate.

"Please."

Light. It began to shine through his body, lifting him up like he weighed nothing. Your eyes were shut tight from the mixture of tears and bright light.

"(Y/N)."

You held your eyes shut. Too afraid to see what's around you.

"(Y/N), look at me." Warm hands wrapped around your own.

Looking up, you were met with the spitting image of the painted prince.

"It's me."

He had the same dark blue eyes, ones you could get lost in.

He let go of your hands and gasped.

"Everyone."

He held your wrist and made you follow him to the main entrance where the village people had fled from.

A boy with orange hair stood in between two boys, one with silver hair and the other with short dark brown.

Two tall boys stood next to each other one blonde the other a brunette.

"You're alight," the man next the you whispered gently.

"Kageyama. I see you didn't ruin my clothing," the blonde hissed.

"Its good to see you too, Tsukkishima."

•──────⋅☼⋅──────•‌

"Thank you, princess." Kageyama sighed into your shoulder.

"I'm no princess, just an inventor's daughter," you said.

"I beg to differ."
