"The doctor will see you now," the hospital assistant said to the brown-haired boy, who was sitting in the waiting room.
"Okay, thank you," the brown-haired boy said.
He got up and followed the hospital assistant down a hallway and through a door, with a sign that read: Dr. (L/N), (F/N).
"You can wait in here, they will be here shortly," the assistant said with a smile, and then she walked out of the room closing the door behind her.
The brown-haired boy looked around the office. It wasn't anything special, just a regular office.
There was a desk that had two chairs facing it, and one chair neatly tucked into the desk. Many certificates lined the walls, and an examination table on the opposite wall to where the desk stood.
The door suddenly opened, and a person with (H/L) (H/C) hair walked in. Your shoes clacked on the hardwood floor as you turned to see the patient.
You filed though the pieces of paper in your hand to see the name of the brown-haired boy that stood in front of you.
"Oikawa Tōru?" you questioned.
Normally, you knew who your next patient was, but this week you had a huge work load due to the other doctor who was on vacation this week. You took over most of his patients who could postpone their appointment.
"Yeah, where's Dr. (Random Name)? He's my normal doctor," Oikawa asked you.
You gave him a small smile. "Unfortunately, Dr. (Random Name) has gone on vacation without informing any of his patients. Short story, his kind of an airhead at times, but don't tell anyone I said that."
Oikawa nodded at the new information, "So, um, what now?"
"Well," you said, taking a seat in your office chair, "you could wait a week and have your normal doctor do what you came here for, or you can just let me handle it. Which ever you decided will be fine."
"I'll just let you do it. It's kind of urgent, and I need to get this fixed if you can as soon as possible," Oikawa said.

You smiled at him. "Okay, why don't you take a seat on the table and tell me what's wrong."
Oikawa jumped on the exam table and started to swing his right leg back and forth.
"So, what seems to be the problem?" you asked, taking a seat in front of him.
"My left knee has been hurting lately, and I'm not so sure what to do. I'm a volleyball player and I kind of need my leg to play," he explained.
"Okay, let's have a look," you told him.
You took his knee into your hands and looked at it. You turned and bent it to get a better idea of what could be the problem. You took notice of when he slightly hissed in pain, but it wasn't anything too serious.
"It seems to be sprain. How long do you practice for?" you asked him, furrowing your eyebrows together.
"Well, practices are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for about three hours. But I sometimes stay longer for extra practice," he said, as if it was nothing.
"That's a lot of practice. You shouldn't push yourself so much. It could have caused a worse injury. You'll need a knee brace. Wear it for about a month at first, and if there's serious pain then you should come back. If there's just a little bit of pain though, then just put the brace back on. Make sure not to put it on too tight, and don't leave it on when you sleep," you said.
You've gone back to you desk and started typing that into his file of future reference.
"Okay, sounds good doc," Oikawa said smiling.
He was glad that it wasn't anything serious, or his couch would have yelled at him for over practicing.
"Unfortunately, we don't have any knee braces at the moment, but I just ordered you one, so come back in a few days to pick it up. You should take it easy though. I know that I can't ask you to skip practice entirely, but can you not participate as much. Okay?" You asked, walking back over to where Oikawa was sitting.

"Okay, thank you, but can I ask you something first," Oikawa smiled.
"Sure," you said. "By the way, when you come and get the brace, I should do another check up to make sure that you didn't mess up your knee when you're out doing who knows what."
"How old are you?" he asked, out of pure curiosity with a hint of mischief.
You were surprised at first. They would normally say "thank you" then leave.
"I'm 25," you answered.
"Isn't that a little young for a doctor?" Oikawa asked, the back handed compliment, he had his hand on the doorknob ready to leave when his question was answered.
"I'm an intern, but I'm at the top of my class. They put me here to see how well I can handle things by myself," you said.
Oikawa nodded then gave you one last smile before leaving.

"Iwa-chan~~~" Oikawa said, grinning.
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes in annoyance. "What is it Assikawa?"
"Did I tell you about the cute doctor I met yesterday??" Oikawa said, his grin widened take about them.
"Yes, five times, and in a 24-hour span," Iwaizumi said, walking into the gym. "What are you doing here anyways? Didn't your 'cute doctor' tell you not to practice, so that your knee can get better and you can play? I hate to admit it, but we kind of need you on the team."
Oikawa laughed. "They just said to take it easy, and I am taking it easy. I'm not going to practice. I'm just going to watch so I don't miss anything."
"Sure, whatever you say," he said, and walked into the changing room.
•──────⋅☾ ☽⋅──────•
Oikawa sat impatiently shaking his leg up and down, waiting to be called upon again in the doctor's office.
He had been constantly talking about you to Iwaizumi. Until about yesterday, he had enough of it, Iwaizumi suggested that Oikawa ask you out on the day that he was going to pick up his brace. Oikawa thought that he said it sarcastically, but he quickly agreed to the idea.
"Oikawa Tōru?" one of the doctor's assistant asked the waiting room.
Oikawa stood up.
"Oh, follow me please," they said, and led him down the same hallway.
The assistant showed Oikawa the same door that read your name on it, and left back to the main office.
"Hey," he said.
Your head turned up to the door. "Hello, take a seat on the table please."
He sat on the table, while you took a knee brace out of a drawer that was connected to your desk. You walked over to the exam table, and handed the brace to Oikawa.
You sat down in front of him once again, and took a hold of his knee.
"You haven't seemed to damage it anymore, so that's good. Putting on the knee brace isn't that hard, really. It's kind of like putting on a knee pad for volleyball, and make sure not to put it on too tightly," you told him.
He put it on pretty easily.
"Will you go out with me?" Oikawa asked, his head was tilted slightly.
"Excuse me?" you chuckled.
"Will you go out with me?" he asked once again.
"You know that doctors and patients aren't allowed to date, right?" you said.
"But after today, I'm not going to be your patient. I'm going to go back to my normal doctor, so it wouldn't affect you in anyway," Oikawa pleaded.
"I'm also a bit older than you," you looked down doubtfully.
"Age is just a number, and I don't care about that," Oikawa said.
"Okay, fine, I'll give you a chance. You better not mess up my career," you smiled slightly at him.
"Yay, doctor-chan, we're going to have a great life together," Oikawa beamed.
"We'll see."

Cary Simms: The Fairy Mushroom Forest
From a young age, Cary Simms knew that she wasn't like the other boys her age. She didn't know why or how that was, but it seemed apparent to the bullies of her school. They would often call her names, chase after her after school, and beat her up when they could catch her. Her only protection, besides escape, was in the words of the Good Book. But that was before she stumbled into the supposedly haunted house at the end of her street. When a mysterious ring and a drawing on the back wall of the post office opened up a whole new world for her, things quickly went from weird to scary. At a new school, in a new world, surrounded by people who had access to magic, all Cary could think of was how to escape the witches that had her trapped there. It was only having her best friend by her side that gave her any comfort at all. ***This is my first attempt at a middle grade book, and would appreciate feedback. Please note, this is a second draft, and might not represent the final product.***
