little did y/n know the heart she sent kageyama shot right through the real life one in his chest.
he gently placed his phone face down on his bed before covering his mouth, proceeding to throw his phone to the wall. kageyama immediately running to his mirror as he jumped of the bed, completely falling onto the hard wood floor. this didn't stop him as he rummaged through a drawer, messing up his hair with a comb through the reflection.
"she'll be here any minute by now!" his mind raced. "oh god"
the boys mind was haywire. maybe it was from the newfound knowledge y/n was tsukishimas ex or the fact that she was about to be alone with the setter again.
again.
he would be alone in a room with her again. not hiding behind a phone screen, not with the obstacles of his other teammates stealing her away from kageyama.
it's not like you guys haven't been alone before, but it had been a while.
the last true time that happened, y/n was on top of him.
now, kageyama tobio had realised he had been daydreaming the whole time. the time about his moment with his hands grazed over her hips.
he silently cursed as he snapped out of his trance, slapping his already-rose tinted face. he only realised how red he had gotten until he was looking at himself in the mirror again.
he placed his palms on his tomato looking face, the warmth cascading from his face to his hands.
"okay... deep breaths" he huffed. one breath in through the nose, one out.
he didn't exactly know why he was freaking out.
but he didn't have anymore time to think. the doorbell shrilled throughout the entire house.
making my way downtown~
the black haired boy made his way downstairs eagerly (for some reason). but of course before he opened the door, he checked his hair one more time by running his hands through them.
the door opens.
"what took you so long?" it was y/n, arms folded, angry eyebrows.
the setter felt at ease after looking at girl. he hurriedly opened the door due to the impatient look on her face.
y/n looked cautiously left and right before proceeding into the house. she turns to him "so, no one else is in the house right now?"

kageyama responds "why? never been to a boys house before?" after saying this, he quickly realises his subconscious was feeding into his curiosity over y/n's previous relationship.
"oh god" were the words replaying in his mind.
"yeah, i have never"
yeah. so this was her first.
he did a mental cheer to the side before noticing-
she was gone.
all he heard was a faint sound of a girl going up the stairs.
suddenly, he recalled the absolute mess he made in his room fOr soMe reAsOn.
girl going up the stairs... my rooms a mess because of her... actually it was caused by me because of her...
"Y/N!" he chased after her, he could hear her giggles from upstairs as she quickened up her pace.
"which one is your room tobio?" she said as she opened one door that lead to the toilet. before kageyama could corner her, she ducked and headed for another room. opening the door, she gasped.
oh no.
the sight of clothes, a comb, his blanket, and the contents of his shelf all strewn on the floor is what filled her vision.
"do you always live in a dump-"
kageyama covered her eyes and mouth before she could finish, pushing her over to the bed and engulfing her head into the covers.
"tbio-chunn!" she screamed, her cries for help muffled by his blue sheets.
to not be charged by the death of suffocation, he let his grasp on y/n's head go. the second he did, she punched his stomach as he laughed before grabbing her hands and placing her on the bed beside him.
he laid on the sheets next to her. their bodys were right beside, arm-to-arm, a bit too close for comfort.
a silent tension filled the room.
both of them could feel it but were not saying anything.
"nice room" she joked, cutting the atmosphere with a knife, at least attempting to.
"thanks"
the room was silent once again.
she started going off on a tangent, fiddling with random things around her. "this is my first time in guys room so i apologise if i'm kind of... estranged"
her awkward antics were not what kageyama was paying attention to. it was the sharp thought that was bugging him, that you possibly liked tsukishima. that was what caught his attention.
"y/n"
"yes tobio?" she stated cutely, turning to him.

"i heard you were in a relationship with tsukishima" he was playing with his fingernails, short and chipped. he wasn't looking at her, but he could tell she was shocked.
"well, there is no point in denying it right?"
kageyama was biting his lips now.
"kageyama?" she gently poised his head with her index finger to look at him. at this point kageyama was terrified.
"yeA?" he murmured.
this caused the girl to laugh "pay attention to me. okay?"
she removed her finger from him now that he was looking at her. little did she know he was dying on the inside, both from intestinal pigeons and a burning curiosity.
"you know i'm okay with talking about it" she looked for his approval again as he softly nodded, a sign for her to continue.
"well actually shoyo was asking me about this earlier. me and him dated in junior high but i mean, it was junior high. it's all hormonal. it was my first relationship and it was alright but me and him are better off as good friends" she concluded.
good friends, the phrase that rung in kageyamas mind.
"sooo... do you still like him?" he trailed off from her eyes again, embarrassed to hear the answer from her. he awkwardly placed his hand over the pillow she was laying on, grasping onto it for dear life.
GOD TOBIO UR SO STUPID DONT U GET IT SHE SAID THEY WERE ONLY FRIENDS OH MY GOD - author leila
"oh god, no. not at all tobio" she stated.
all of a sudden, she saw the paleness from his face dissipate.
y/n got in front of his face again, his eyes widened from her sudden movement. gently, she placed a hand to cup his cheek.
"you look a lot less sickly than you did from when you texted me. how are you feeling?"
the sudden electric shock from her palm to the soft skin on his face felt almost as strong as the heavy feeling on his heart that had finally washed away.
"i feel better" he smiled.
"did you take medicine before i came here?"
it's not that y/n.
he shook his head, before lying and looking straight into her eyes.
"yes. yes i did take medicine"
she nodded. "i'm glad you feel better" she looked into his eyes.
they stayed like that for a while, her eyes lost in his azure ones and his in her __ ones.
but then she yawmed extremely loud, causing kageyama to let out a big laugh.
"god, you're disgusting!"
he said before he laughed again and she laughed along, punching his arm as both of their eyes crinkled up. "are you sleepy?"
"mm" she rubbed her eyes.
he gazed at her hands stroke her eyes like a little bear cub waking up from a nap.
"so cute" the words almost left his mouth but he quickly covered it up. luckily the girl didn't notice as a wave of sleepiness shook her.
turning her head to him "may i take a rest here before i leave?"
he couldn't ever turn down an offer like that in such a polite tone from the one and only y/n.
"why, of course"
unexpectedly, the arm that was resting on her pillow was the arm that she was now laying on. she laid down, body turned to him as her face was practically embedded in his neck.
kageyama almost let out a sound. a sound of shock from the sudden close contact.
he carefully looked down at her, not moving too much so she could sleep comfortably.
the sight from his point of view was a pretty girl laying on his arm, cuddled up beside him.
kageyama composed himself, softly breathing in and out before doing the same. he lowered his body down and turned to face y/n, snuggling up his other arm. he was about to wrap his other arm around her, but chickened out and placed it beside her cuddled up arms.
slightly shifting in his place, he admired the peaceful look on your face.
and suddenly, he stopped shifting.
kageyama studied all your features since he never got to up close and wanted to take an opportunity to do so.
his eyes couldn't help but trail down to her lips.
your lips, my lips.
suddenly, his face got all red again. he took a deep breath and looked at y/n's face one more time, before snuggling up close to her and falling asleep.
