《35 | Cody Bellinger x Reader》Chapter 17

I woke up and checked the time. It read, 1:45. I slept in really late. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. After I brushed my teeth I went to the kitchen to see Cody cooking brunch and Corey just watching tv.
"Whatcha cooking?" I ask Cody.
"Pancakes."
"Sounds good."
"Where is Y/BF/N?" I ask.
"Still asleep." Corey said.
"And did you ever think to wake her up?"
"I did, but I didn't want to."
"Fine, I'll wake her up." I say leaving the kitchen.
I walk to Y/BF/N's room. I look at the bed and she is just knocked out.
"Y/BF/N wake up. It 1:50."
Y/BF/N did even move a muscle.
"Wake up Y/BF/N." I say a but louder.
Still didn't move. I clap my hands. Didn't move. Then I grab one of her pillows and smack her face. Didn't move.
That is when I got a great idea. I leave Y/BF/N's room and go to kitchen.
"Is she up?" Corey asks.
"Nope."
"Then why did you come ba-- nevermind."
I'm guessing Corey knew what I was going to do. I walk back to Y/BF/N's room to see her still sound asleep.
"I'm so sorry for doing this." I say before I tip the cup.
I tipped the cup over and a gush of water came out onto Y/BF/N face. She jerked up right away.
"What the hell. Why would you do that?" Y/BF/N asked me.
"I was trying to wake you up, but you wouldn't so I poured water on you." I say.
"Why did you want to wake me up anyways?"
"It's 2:00."
"Oh ok. Well I need to change my clothes so."

"Yep I'll leave."
I leave Y/BF/N's room and go back to the kitchen. Cody is done cooking brunch and it smells amazing.
"That's smells delicious." I say as I sit down.
"I bet it tastes that way, too." Corey said sitting next to me.
We started eating when Y/BF/N walked in.
"Why is your hair wet?" Cody asks.
"Y/N poured water on me." Y/BF/N yelled pointing at me.
All I did was just smile.
"So what's for breakfast?"
"Well it's past breakfast, but we are having pancakes for brunch?" Cody says pointing to the stack of pancakes on the counter.
Y/BF/N got some pancakes and sat next to Corey.
"So how do you guys feel about tonight's game?" I ask stuffing my fave with pancakes.
"Not going to lie, I feel a bit nervous." Corey said. "This is the game that determines whether or there will be a Game 7."
"But it would be nice for Houston to win knowing what happened to them." Cody said.
What happened to Houston was terrible. The meteorologist said that Huricane Harvey was suppose to hit somewhere else, but it ended up hitting Houston badly. I remember seeing on the news how flooded Houston was. A lot of people lost their homes.
"Yeah they are having a bad year. This could mean a lot to them." I say.
We all ate in silence after that. We didn't know what to talk about now until Cody broke the silence.
"Are you two coming to our game today?"
"It would be nice to see you guys cheer us on." Corey said.
"If you want us to, then yeah we'll come." I say.
"We will make sure you get the best seats." Cody said.

"Alright, I trust you."
We were driving to Dodger Stadium. Y/BF/N was wearing a Seager jersey, I was wearing a Bellinger jersey.
When we got there the parking lot was empty so we could park close. Cody, Corey, Y/BF/N, and I went our separate ways. Cody and Corey went to go warm up with the team and Y/BF/N and I went to our seats.
When we got to our seats we both realized that we are seating right behind the dugout. They are so nice to us. I thought. What could we give back as a thank you.
Maybe like 30 minutes later people started to come into the stadium. I was starting to get loud and crowded. It almost seemed as if the while entire city of LA was at the stadium.
The National Anthem started and everyone stood up. I heard some people sing. Then First Pitch was thrown and now the game had finally started. This was the moment I was waiting for.
It was the top of 9th inning. The score was 1 - 3 and there was 2 outs and 2 strikes. The Dodgers need one more to win the game. It was like everythimg was in slow motion. Kenley Jansen pitched the ball. The ball soared to the person batting. He swung the bat and Austin Barnes caught the ball.
The only thing that I could hear was shouting, screaming, and cheering. The Dodgers have won Game 6 of the World Series.
There will be a Game 7.

The Book of Hickory
Now why did Hickory go and punch that Angel? Sure it spooked him, popping up right there at lunch, and yet, it wasn't fear that balled his hand into a fist - Cause wouldn't you? Wouldn't anyone - with a sick Ma at home, Da long dead, buried, all them prayers piling up on bruised knees, unanswered? Hickory was angry, all right. He was fierce, now - cause that Angel didn't show up to give no help, that Angel came by asking for it - with all that power just plain to see, the power to fix the world and all that ails it! And now look what poor Hickory has to do - to save the world? Now how is he supposed to do that when its taking near everything he's got - just to keep them chickens safe, Ma fed, and himself out of trouble - All he wanted was maybe just a dance with May, maybe a bit more, to hold her close? That she's sweet, now, a voice like an angel, but now she's over there lookin at him like he's more than a man. And that's not to say Hickory is bad, not all the time, not ever on purpose - just there are things a man has to - That drinking and fighting ain't wrong just as long as the chores are done proper first, that those parts of life that make it worth living ain't no sin, that loving a lady is proper and Hickory just has so much love to give! And May is special, right, sweet and soft, now she's sophisticated. That she wears her passion like a pearl necklace? That certainly Hickory would notice, naturally - that she's already spoken for, perhaps taken? That ever since Hickory came back, that all she can think about is swallowing - those strange feelings, because it wouldn't do, would it? For a Lady? But certainly she can worship him and still be seen with Weston Covanger? Because Weston needs May, that what happens in the Study is only half the battle, the Men's Business, and he's far too proud to settle for half of anything. That if he wants to move up the ranks of his family, to be more than a Covanger, to become the Covanger? He's going to need a woman in the Kitchen as well - he's going to need May. And if that seems a bit old fashioned? A bit too much like the Wild West? Well the West is starting to get wild again now that everyone starts to Drink. A different take on LitRPG where answers aren't given - they must be earned, discovered and fought for, one at a time. An orator style, a long read, filled with magic buildings, crafting, alchemy, but most of all - This is a story about the human spirit. About understanding what defines a person, their morals, their beliefs, and also faith when everything they understand becomes challenged - changed. So do they. People can change. They will. Just not always for the better, not always - sometimes. Sometimes that's enough. Sometimes that's even everything.

The Garbage Man
2021/10/20 - Taking this down for a complete rewrite. I like the plot but the writing on the first attempt is... Garbage :/ Jack was just waiting for the storm to pass. It wouldn't. What it did was take him on the journey of a lifetime. A lot of lifetimes, in fact. This is a cultivation/wuxia story at its core. May contain young masters, martial arts and magic. * 14/08/2020 - Rough editing done on the published chapters, hooray! Now to resume normal - edited! - releases.
