Marisol's POV- August 2018
"I am so sorry for waking you" I apologized.
Cody stepped back as I stepped inside.
"It's fine, you need your book"
I hugged his torso before making my way towards his room. Once the light was on, I crouched down and pulled the book from under the bed.
"Yeah, I would have never found that"
I stood up and made my way over to him.
"Since you're up, you should do your laundry" I stated.
He scrunched up his nose.
"It's too early"
I laughed earning a smile from him.
"Your high pitched laugh is going to wake Chris up"
"Good, you'd clean up the place together" I noted.
The place was a mess, and that was probably due to the fact that they had been gone for a while.
"We're going to clean up, just at a proper time"
I smiled.
"What's a proper time?" I wondered.
"One with double digits"
"Well I will get out of your way, so you can go back to bed," I told him.
It was 6:30 AM after all.
"Kiss before you leave?"
"I've got coffee breath" I stated.
"I brushed my teeth for you"
He placed his hands on my hips.
"You know I don't mind a bit of coffee breath"
I rolled my eyes earning a chuckle from him.
"Please? I won't see you until tomorrow"
"I will be there late, but I will be there" I promised him.
He smiled.
"As long as you're there"
I nodded and accepted the kiss he was leaning in for.
"Have fun with the moos and neighs"
He was such a dork.
"Of course" I replied.
I kissed his jaw before moving away from him.
"I still have to go feed Salem" I mentioned.
"The cat you and Lucy have been cat sitting?"
"Yes," I confirmed as he followed me out.
"Well then I'll get out of your way"
I smiled.
"Talk later, tonight?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'll call after practice"
"See you then" I said.
"Wait"
"Cody" I warned.
"One more kiss?"
"You need to go back to bed" I stated.
"If I can't sleep, I'll do my laundry"
"Okay," I said giving in.

Once he had his kiss, he let me go and I was on my way. Salem was waiting for me by the door when I got to Sabina's place.
"Hi boy" I greeted.
He meowed at me and rubbed his little body against my legs.
"Let me check your litter boxes," I told him.
The litter box that had been placed in the living room was spotless probably because he was not used to going there. I walked into the downstairs bathroom and quickly cleaned up the little box. Lucy tossed the bags out at night, so I put the bag in the bathroom trash bin. I walked upstairs and made sure Salem had not left any presents anywhere. He was a good boy, so I found nothing. I opened the blinds in Sabina's room and did the same in the spare bedroom just in case he decided to sunbathe.
"All right, let's get you fed" I said.
He was waiting for me at the top of the stairs and waited for me to walk down to follow. I scooped up some kibble and placed it in his bowl. Instead of eating, he meowed at me.
"Do you want some love?" I asked.
He purred and leaned his little head against my hand.
"Your mom will be home in a couple of days" I informed him.
I smiled as he purred when I scratched his chin.
"Eat up, and then I'll call mom" I stated.
As he ate up, I took a seat on the couch and pulled my phone out of my backpack. What time was it in Sweden? I sure hope it was not too late over there. I had some time before I actually had to drive towards Norco, so I decided to facetime her. As I waited for her to answer, I looked at Salem who was making his way over.
"Hey"
Sabina's face appeared on the screen.
"It's not too late over there, right?" I wondered.
She shook her head.
"No, I'm actually waiting on Adrian to get ready"
"Well, Salem has been fed his breakfast but he did mention that he misses his momma" I told her.
She smiled.
"Only a couple of days and we will be reunited,"

"Well I gave him some love before I fed him since I have some time"
Salem made his presence known by purring and pressing his little whiskers against my phone.
"Hi boy"
The cooing from Sabina only made the purr get louder.
"Aww, he recognizes your voice" I said.
"Hey buddy"
The voice of Sabina's boyfriend, Adrian earned a vocal meow in return.
"Hi, Adrian" I greeted.
"Hey, Mari"
I met Adrian through Lucy. Their friendship was a genuine support system, and it's a shame nothing ever blossomed between my bestfriend and the Swede. That being said, he and Sabina were adorable and I wished them the best.
"Were you expecting anyone?"
The doorbell had just rung.
"No, but I have a feeling I know who it is" I replied.
I flipped the camera and pursed my lips.
"I'm sure you can guess who it is too" I added.
My response got a sigh from her.
"Mute your side of the call" I told her.
I paused the call and placed my phone in my pocket when I heard nothing on her side. Noticing that I was leaving, Salem rubbed his little body against my legs once more. I scratched his head before grabbing my backpack and making my way out. Once I made sure the door was locked, I made my way downstairs. Opening the door, I nearly bumped into the tall figure I had met a week before.
"Hello," I greeted.
Christian Yelich looked kind of surprised to see me.
"Uh, hi"
I adjusted my backpack on my shoulder as I locked the door.
"Do you live here?"
I laughed because well...the question made sense.
"Would I have keys if I didn't?" I questioned.
I turned around to face him.
"Or my backpack with me?" I added.
He shook his head.
"I guess not"
I cleared my throat.
"Can I help you?" I wondered.
I raised an eyebrow.
"Uh, do you know Sabina?"
I laughed.
"Of course I do, she's my landlord's daughter" I replied
That's what Lucy had told me to reply when asked that question.
"Does she live here?"
"She does not" I answered.
The garage door opened to reveal my car.
"Do you happen to know where she lives? I really need to talk to her"
I unlocked my car and turned to him.
"I think she lives in Fullerton, I don't know exactly where but she's starting school there soon. I'm pretty sure she's out of town, visiting her boyfriend" I told him
He slowly nodded as he watched me toss my backpack to the passenger seat.
"Marisol, right?"
"Yes, it's Christian, right?" I asked
"Yeah"
He cleared his throat and scratched his jaw.
"Do you happen to have her number?"
I laughed.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not giving you her number" I noted.
You were a shitty friend if you gave out your friends number to a stranger.
"But I will let her know you dropped by. I really have to go, I've got class and I don't want to be late" I told him.
"What are you majoring in?"
I laughed, yet again. He was not the first to guess my age wrong, and well I did look younger than I actually was.
"I majored in Animal Sciences, I'm in my third year of veterinarian school and I have to drive to Norco" I disclosed.
"Why so far?"
"Well, that's where the horses are at" I answered.
He slowly nodded as I got into my car. Once I got into my car, I locked the doors and turned on the car.
"I hope the Brewers lose tonight" I commented.
I pulled my car out of the garage and lowered the window when I noticed he was still there.
"Can I give you some advice?" I asked.
He was going to hear it from me regardless, but I waited for him to nod to continue.
"Leave her alone, yeah? She's happy" I told him.
I put the window up before he could say anything and drove away. Once I turned the corner, I slowed down and pulled my phone out of my pocket to see was still on the line.
"Thank you"
"Of course, I gotta hang up on you now though cause I need the GPS" I stated.
She laughed.
"I'll see you in a couple of days"
"Enjoy the last bit of your vacation," I said before ending the call.
It was going to be such a long day, but I loved what I did.

Liana in between Worlds
17 year old Liana is not as surprised as most people would be when she meets Inaya, coming from another world searching for a mysterious danger that could be disastrous for both worlds. She's always seen things others could not see, and she often finds it easier to befriend strange creatures from dreamworlds than her classmates. But now she's involved in a possible plot to eradicate our whole species, which makes her travel through a dead alien city and the oak wood of the Nummerfa who believe that our species are dangerous demons from hell, and other places in several different worlds. All she actually wanted was read her Tolkien book, or sit and watch the stars without being bothered by the existential problems of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And how is she going to even explain her absence at school? 'Liana in Between Words' is a weird genre-defying mix of portal fantasy and scifi in a tale of friendship, loneliness, and the role of humans in the multiverse. This one contains absolutely no romance and no serious trigger warnings for sex, excessive violence, bad words or heavily traumatising content if you can handle the idea that there are people somewhere who think -maybe not completely without reason- that our species are destructive demons that should be eradicated.
