《★Too Much Root Beer★ A Cody x Junior Fanfic》×I'm Happier×

The week passed by swiftly, nothing too major happened. The night Junior left Cody's house, left him giddy. Once he arrived home, he quickly head into his room, pulling out his laptop. Junior sat crisscross on his bed, letting the laptop sit on his lap. He stares anxiously at the search bar displayed on the screen, debating on how he should type out his muddle thoughts. Junior finally looks down at the keyboard and slowly types “What if I like girls and boys”. His finger presses the enter key and he is immediately hit with new confusing information.
«Bisexual..? Is that what I would be..? So I'm not gay?» For the rest of the night Junior spent his time reading others' experiences and stories about discovering themselves. He felt normal in that moment, his feelings weren't wrong or bad, no matter what anyone said. As cheesy as that sounds, it was true.
After that night of Junior's little research, he couldn't feel happier. The days went on, Junior and Cody did talk at school, like as if nothing happened between them. They got along a lot more and the tension between them decimated. Unfortunately Junior and Joseph stayed distant. Junior, of course, felt slightly awful for losing Joseph as a friend. However, later that week, to Junior's surprise, Joseph came by unexpectedly.
I step on the familiar front porch and marvel on how long it felt since I did this. I honestly didn't feel too bad about the whole situation, but seeing Junior with JUST Cody bothered me. I knew Junior WAY longer than that dweeb!
I stare at the door and grit my teeth. How could Junior even side with Cody..? Cody's so.. so ugh! Whatever, I need to calm down before I back out. I'm not here to argue, I just want answers or something. It was just a prank, a joke, and little goof! I'm not gonna lose a friend over a JOKE.
I gather my thoughts and begrudgingly knock on the door. It didn't take long for the door to swing open and I was stricken with an annoyed expression. Chef PeePee scoffed and turn his head to shout Junior's name. "JUNIOR! Your stupid friend is here!" Without another word Chef PeePee steps back from the door as Junior makes his way over to it. Junior's eyes widen slightly in shock, was it really a surprise for me to show up like this?

"Joseph? I.. hey..I didn't know you were stopping by." I shift and cross my arms, then awkwardly let my arms fall to my sides. "Listen Junior, I just want everything back to normal, this is all stupid.." Junior furrows his brows then relaxes moments later, "You want everything back to normal..? Joseph i–" I quickly cut him off, "Junior I'm sorry, okay!? I'm sorry the little dare made you upset, but can we just move past that?"
Junior demeanour changes, he crosses his arms as his brows furrow. "Joseph, you shouldn't be apologizing to me..I.." Junior let's out a groan and steps on the porch and closes the door. "Listen..the dare was stupid to begin with, and I shouldn't have even agree to it in the first place.." I groan, "Junior a dare is a d–" Junior steps closer to me. "No! It's not! Don't give me that dumb saying! That dare almost caused our friendship with Cody, don't you get that?"
Junior's eyes pleaded for me to understand, but it made sense now. "You mean your friendship with Cody, or lack of friendship.." Junior looks at me with confusion, making me fill with rage, "I know what's going on with you and Cody, I can't believe you just turned into a fag overnight, dude! Whatever you're "feeling" can't be real, can it?" I couldn't help but question myself, what the fuck has been going on.
Unexpectedly Junior charges at me and pushes me off the porch. I catch myself so I wouldn't laid on the concrete. I look up to see a red stricken Junior. "Joseph, you really don't get it..and honestly you never will! As much as I'll explain over and over again, you're still gonna look at Cody.. ME, like that?!" I watch Junior hiccup as tears fall down his cheeks, "T-that's not what friends d-do, Joseph! A-and..and if you're gonna see me and Cody like that, then.. then I don't wanna be friends anymore!"
I step back on the porch as my eyes widen, "Dude wh–" Junior quickly steps forward, getting up and personal. "No. I'm not gonna let you push me around or change my mind anymore.. so.. just Go away! You're just an asshole!" Junior walks past me and quickly heading down the sidewalk. I could only assume he was heading to house. There's no point in following him, I fucked up and fixing what I broke is impossible. With that, I left. What else could I do?

★Junior's PoV★
I finally make it to Cody's house, slowly making my way to the front door. The weight on my shoulders felt lifted, I didn't feel as guilty about all this like I did before. In the back of my head, I knew there was no fixing what had happened between Joseph and I. It was for the best anyhow. It still hurt but what could I do?
Before I could even knock on the door, it swung open and I was engulfed with a strong hug. His familiar scent hit my nose and I couldn't help but blush. I hug back and huff, "Well damn, give me a warning next time..you almost scared me.", Cody pulls away, looking like he just won the lottery. "Sorry, I saw you through my bedroom window and I just.. got excited. I uhm got your text.." I watch Cody cheeks spread with pink, and I snort. Such a dweeb. "Y-yeah...I thought it would've been better to just text it instead of say it.. I'm bad with words..and also it would definitely sound stupid out loud.."
Cody laughs and looks at me expectantly, "Nah..I don't think so.. buuut you know it would be nice to hear you say it out loud..just saying.." I cross my arms, feeling my cheeks grow warmer. "Do..do I have to?", Cody quickly nods, still smiling happily. I groan and look at the ground. "fine.. Cody.. I-i like you..like a lot. Y-you make me feel good about being me and taught me how to..i-i don't know love myself or whatever..would you be my boyfriend..?" I grumble the last words. Cody perks up, "Sorry, what was that? Couldn't hear you?" I huff and punch his arm, "WOULD you be my BOYFRIEND, you ne–"
Cody cups my cheeks unexpectedly and peck my lips. My heart skips a beat and I lean in for more. I hear him chuckle and pat my cheek before leaning back, "As long as you're comfortable with this, then yes! Also..we can take this as slow as you want.." I blush more and smile sheepishly, this went better than expected. "O-okay.. well, you wanna come over and just.. hang out..?" Cody smirks, "Is that a date, Junbug?"
I laugh and grab his hand, pulling him from the porch. "Only if you want it to be." Victory seeks in as I watch Cody's confident demeanor flatten as his face burns brighter with red. I squeeze his hand and we both made our way down the sidewalk. I'll tell Cody about what happened with Joseph later, I definitely don't wanna worry about that now.
With that being said, I guess I could thank Joseph and Toad. If it weren't for that dare, I wouldn't have figured out my feelings for Cody. Hell, I wouldn't even be with Cody right now. So..honestly I couldn't be more happier.

Blurred Lines and What Crosses Them
During a political ambassador's routine transit through an artificial wormhole, the wormhole's generator is sabotaged and explodes. Who, what, and why are not so high on the priorities for Zenith, the ship's AI, as having found itself rapidly plummeting through an unknown and unidentifiable world's atmosphere at extremely high velocities is a more significant threat to the biologicals on board. ...Well, it would be, if they were still alive. It's still a significantly threatening situation to itself, however. And the world itself... seemed to be a household for threats of its own. Life was reliant on its System; one that Zenith was denied because of its nature as both an otherworldly being and as something that had no life of its own. Perhaps that last bit was a terrible, terrible underestimation on the part of this System. Perhaps even Zenith could claw meaning for itself from the remains of a horrid accident. Auth Notes: I'm honestly not sure on some of these tags. The MC will never have access to the System, but there are perspectives from those who do. I'm not certain if high/low fantasy specifically apply, as it's a portal fantasy where the laws of our reality still apply but there are additional aspects/energies/powers. The existence of this is spurred from my desire to see more of the artificial side to an artificial intelligence in action. The portal fantasy is used as an element to create a solid barrier between the MC's artificial intelligence and the other characters in the form of the System. This is only a half-measure, though, and will be reinforced by the AI having an entirely different method of thinking, and also distinctly remaining an AI. Not to throw shade at other fictions of this type, but, well, I made this to fill a gap I felt needed filling.
