Lark slid down the door of the boy's restroom, his shoulders shaking in sobs. His hand came to wipe the tears that flowed down his now puffy cheeks—but, of course, there were still more to come.
His heart was breaking by the second, and it wasn't until then, that he realized, someone had ruined them. Someone had ruined something beautiful, and too new to survive this kind of heartbreak.
Joseph hated him now, and to be frank—Lark didn't blame him. Lark had wanted Joseph to feel something for him, and now that he did, someone was ripping the two apart.
He wished he could go back, to a time where he would eat alone outside during lunch, or even when he would meet up with Andy for their daily make-out sessions.
Just a time before Lark had to watch Joseph shed a tear—because of him. And that thought alone was enough to break him.
Joseph stormed into the library, carrying the picture in one hand, and his other balled into a fist-like stature. The librarian shot him a look of distaste, before muttering something beneath her breath. Even she had seen the picture.
There sat Bobby Stinger, Troy Mavis beside him, the two laughing along to something, before looking up to realize that Joseph stood there.
"Coming to apologize, Joe? Because, if so, I accept—"
"Do you really think I would apologize after you pulled this?" The paper was tossed at Bobby's forehead, while he merely sent Joseph a glare, before opening the picture.
His eyes widened in shock, while Troy did the same. This only fueled Joseph's anger. "Oh, don't act like you didn't do this, Bob. You hate gays—more than anyone I know!"
"But this," Bobby tossed the picture back over to Joseph. "Wasn't me." Bobby's eyes held a look of determination, and truth.
Joseph's heart stopped. If it wasn't Bobby who'd taken the picture—then, who had?
