I was cooking some fish and vegetables when my phone went off, I looked at the caller ID and sighed.
It was Susan or as everyone calls her noisy Sue.There was nothing that happened in the pack that she didn't know about.
"Sue I'm busy,what do you need?" I asked as I flipped the fish in the pan.
"Have you heard about what happen today Houston?"
No"
I wasn't interested in anthing that this woman had to say.
"Austin is back and he came with a sexy guy that's his mate"she said.
I could hear it in her voice that she was enjoying this. The woman loved to taunt me and right now she was probably having a field day.
I didn't know how to respond, we hadn't spoken in almost five years.I'm glad he found his mate, now he'll be happy and feel complete.
At least my son would get to enjoy tht joy of having a mate.
"Thanks for the information I'll go over there tomorrow to meet them"
After declining to have dinner with her Thursday, I closed the line.
I haven't seen Austin in over 4 years, we stop talking because of my ignorance. I hate myself for the words I said to my son that day.After our argument he packed up his stuff and left the pack, he still maintained contact with his mom, something I was glad he did. At least he got to speak to her until the end, I know he would have never forgiven himself if she had died without speaking to him for the past 4 years. Tht guilt would have killed him.
Even on her death bed she ask me to make peace with my son, I owe it to her to make things right with Austin and hopefully mend our broken relationship.

"Dallas dinner is ready!" I shouted as I set the table for 2.
Dallas came through the back door looking dirty and sweaty. I would have preferred if he was showered bit he was a grown man and I couldn't bother myself with telling him to go take a shower, even if he did stink. Which he probably knew judging by the smirk on his face.
"Boy you better wash your hands before dinner," I tell him.
Not taking a shower is one thing but eating with dirty hands is another story.
After washing his hands he joined me at the table.
"So a little noisy birdy told me your brother was back in town." I said I took a bite of my fish.
Dallas just continued to chew and eat his food.
"So this birdy was its name Susan? Because mom just got buried and she's trying to hit on you," he says with a disgusted look on his face.
I wasn't the only one who disliked Susan.
"Yeah but I turned her down. So what about your brother, what do you think we should do?"
"Dad this is between Austin and you and I don't want to be in the middle. You know he already hates me" Dallas says with pain in his eyes.
He gets up and picks up our empty plates before heading to the sink to wash them.
"Dad nothing you do now can change the past, or what you did to Austin. But you can ask for his forgiveness and hopefully you guys will be able move on from all of this." Dallas said as he is rinsed the dishes..
"You're right, I'll go straight over there in the morning and see if he wants to talk to me," I said.

"Great make sure you bring him gifts to welcome him back."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes" he says as he dried the dishes and packed them away.
"You can buy him some rainbow flags and get him a shirt that says I'm gay and my dad loves me," Dallas said as he leaned against the counter.
I can tell he's joking because according to the groups I've been going to,not only would that be weird but wildly insensitive.
"I think you need to come to my support groups so you can be a little more open minded."
"And you need to learn the meaning of sarcasm," Dallas say after which he threw the dishcloth on the counter and left the kitchen.
After my chat with Dallas, I went and did a few things that were needed to be done right away around the house. After that I took a shower and went to bed.
