It didn't take long for me to figure out where Elehna's father had taken her, but what I didn't understand was why go back to their house? Why not run away, or find another less obvious hiding spot? Something didn't feel right to me, but I couldn't for the life of me put my finger on it. "Son, we're ready when you are." My father said quietly from beside me. I nodded, never taking my eyes off the house I was sure Elehna was in.
I took slow, calming breaths and then gave a small nod. The fighters moved forward surrounding the house. I trusted each and every one, and knew that they wouldn't let Steve get away without a fight. I moved forward, the closer I got the more aware I was of the scent of blood. I moved faster, but was jerked back with force. I turned to growl at whoever stopped me from going in after my mate, and received a hard glare from my brother, Isaiah. "Calm down.. It could be a trap." He whispered.
I tried to take more calming breaths, but the more I breathed the more blood I smelt. I was itching to just burst through the front door, but I also knew that if I did that and this was a trap that it would not only get myself killed, but Elehna as well. I nodded, and Isaiah removed his hand slowly from my shoulder. I walked to a window, and nearly held my breath as I peeked into the window. I couldn't see much, it was pretty dark inside.
"I know your out there Alpha Zachariah Montgomery." I crouched back down, frowning as I recognized the voice as Steve. "I want you to come in here slowly, alone. Better yet, bring your father with you. Yes, yes. Bring your father with you, and you best hurry Elehna doesn't have all day.." He trailed off, leaving to the horrible thoughts. There was always a possibility that he'd already killed her, but then I was sure that I would know if my mate was dead.

Lets go son. My eyes snapped up, and met with my fathers. He nodded his head. We don't know how bad Elehna is, and the faster we get in, the faster we can save her. He said, his voice full of confidence.
I nodded, and stood in front of the door. "We're coming in." I opened the door slowly, taking in my surroundings bit by bit. No matter how much training I'd had, or how controlled I believed I was, nothing was enough when I seen Elehna tied to a chair, her face was a huge bruise, her left eye was swelled and her lip was split. "Elehna!" I tried to rush to her, but my father grabbed hold of me and held me back.
"Son not yet, calm down.." My father ordered, but I refused to stop. I needed to get to Elehna. I heard chuckling that made me stop struggling and my body burn with fury. I met the eyes of the man who was supposed to protect Elehna and growled. "You bastard!"
Steve turned and looked at Elehna then shrugged his shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal. "I have bigger things to worry about that what your opinion is of me. I think we should wake Elehna up, don't you? I mean we can't start our conversation without her. I want her to hear everything." Steve said, his face contorted in a evil smirk.
I stiffened in my father's hold when Steve poured what looked like water over Elehna. She jerked awake and I momentarily let myself feel relief. She had been so still, so quiet that for a moment I was worried. I watched as she shook some of the water from her face, her eyes blinking continuously, then watched as she looked around the room, her eyes widening when she seen us. "Zachariah.." Her broken whisper was like a dagger in my heart.

"It'll be okay love, we'll get you out." I said softly, my body filling with even more determination. "Why would you do this? What could you possibly gain from hurting your own child?" I asked, I knew that rouges sometimes went completely insane, but that was usually because... My eyes widened at the thought. No, even still Elehna's his daughter!!
Steve frowned as if in thought, then sighed. "I've got nothing now. The love I had for my daughter died years ago. I tried, acted as if I didn't hate her, but I always have. She along with another is responsible for my mates death and I will get revenge." Before I even could respond, Steve pulled a knife, grabbed Elehna's hair, pulling and put the knife to her throat.
I took one look at Elehna and my concern grew, she didn't react, almost looked as if she had given up and believed his words. "I'm sure Elehna wasn't responsible for her death."
Steve laughed, "how little you know. Why font you ask your father? He should remember my MaryBeth and just what role this bitch played."
I frowned, looking to my father. His face was a mask, giving away nothing. "I don't have a clue what your talking about." My father said.
The scent of blood became more potent and I jerked my gaze to Elehna. Steve had pressed, and now a line of blood was going slowly down her neck. "You gave a choice!" Steve yelled, "you told her that she could save herself, or she could save her daughter!" Steve's hand was now shaking badly and I bit the inside of my cheek to keep clfrom crying out as he pressed just a bit harder. "You should have killed Elehna! You killer my mate! My only love!!" Steve panted, and calmed slowly. "I will kill Elehna. I was going to kill you too, but I think standing by on the sidelines, helpless as your son agonizes over his mates death will be much more punishment. And, he can remember that her death is all because of you!"
I was desperate to save Elehna, but I couldn't move. He would slit her neck before I made it in time. "No he won't." My father said low, I didn't turn to look at him my main focus on Elehna and the knife at her throat. A loud, and sudden gun shot rang out through the house. No one moved, I was stunned into silence as I watched a small trickle of blood leave the small hole in Steve's for head and turned slowly to see my father holding a gun.
My father calmly put the gun away, and turned his gaze to me. "What are you doing? Get your mate, we will be outside waiting to return." Even as my father left the house, I still stood there shocked. My father never relied on guns, or knives. He was all about honor, and it was just a shock.
