Today Tony brought me clothes shopping.

I wasn't completely sure why, I was thinking that Shuri mentioned our lack of clothes and showers to the Avengers or something along those lines. Anyway, I wasn't the only one assigned to an Avenger.

Shuri was shopping with Steve and Wade got Stephen. I nearly laughed when they got paired together, since they hate each other's guts. But whose to say, maybe it could spring an unlikely friendship.

I felt so comfortable around Mr Stark for some reason. He just had this welcoming atmosphere to teens, that's how Steve explained it. It was weird how he functioned. Stephen told me something similar, explaining how Tony was pretty aggressive towards adults yet very soft for kids.

I held up a white T-shirt to my chest, then turned to Tony. He gave me the thumbs up, so I placed it in the cart.

It was quite funny to see such a famous hero just walking around a clothes store casually, wearing joggers and a baggy hoodie. A sight I never thought I'd see.

For the next few minutes we just bought clothes for me. Tony really seemed to like the black white and grey colors, telling me that they match well no matter how you wear them. I was going for more pastel colors, enjoying the happiness that it radiated. Like blues greens and reds. Some light brown colors too to go along with it.

Tony rolled his eyes at my giddiness and let me buy whatever I wanted. Plaid button ups, regular dark blue zipper sweaters, jeans and joggers. I got many things.

"You're enjoying this way more than you should," Tony commented as we checked out.

A little later that day, after showering and changing clothes, Stephen got me to meet Hawkeye, the deaf Avenger. He explained that most people didn't even realize he was deaf because of how good his lip reading was, so it wasn't very public information. Clint then started teaching me sign language.

It was probably the most fun part of my day, since he occasionally taught me swear words. I kept in mind that I could use them on Wade sometime.

I only learned basic stuff that could help me. Like "thirsty", "hungry", or "piss off".

Clint was surprisingly good at teaching, but it doesn't really take much. All he did was say a word and do the hand gesture, then have me repeat it. It was pretty fun since sometimes he allowed to me request a word to learn. He was surprised when I asked how to say "gay bitch".

Eventually, Tony and Steve announced that they were going to go out and help look for more survivors. They said "it's unlikely but possible" that people are still alive out there. That's when I used Shuri's whiteboard to speak up.

Tony's eyes widened. "No, kid. We're not letting you go out there," He informed me.

That's when Wade spoke up. "Don't be a prick. We're not little kids. I'm almost an adult, I'm 17. Shuri isn't as old as me, but she's fucking smart, probably the smartest in the room. And Peter's Aunt is still out there, and he knows what she looks like, so he deserves to go out too," He snapped at them.

I was surprised that Wade backed me up since he's been so mean to me, but I was grateful none the less. "Thanks," Shuri replied, and I flashed him a smile as a way of saying thanking him.

Dr Strange also supported us. "Just let them go with you, that way I can focus on my work and not babysitting."

Tony shrugged. "Fine, but if you get hurt it's not my fault," He sighed, tapping the arc reactor on his chest, causing the suit to form around him. "Also, you're walking," He added. He held his arm out, and Steve grabbed on, then he blasted out of the Tower with Steve.

"Let's go find some cool shit," Wade told us, heading down to the lobby. Shuri and I followed.
