Madeline's POV- October 2017
"Got any plans for the long weekend?"
I glanced up from the paper I was filling out and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm actually going home" I answered.
Mason, the freshmen I was currently tutoring in writing smiled.
"Nice"
"Catch a baseball game" I added.
"Cool, well I hope you have fun"
I handed him the paper and watched as he signed it.
"Are you finally heading home?" I asked.
He was a local kid who lived about an hour from campus, but he had not gone home since his move in day in early September.
"Yeah, my mom is coming for me Friday morning"
I smiled.
"Well enjoy it, you definitely deserve it. I obviously won't see you next week, so Happy Thanksgiving" I replied.
"Thank you, have fun at home"
As he left, I placed the paper into my tutoring folder. Currently I had six students, three I met with today, and three tomorrow. It was 11AM, and I was done for the day. I had class Wednesday's and Thursdays. My clinical hours were usually every Tuesday from 12PM to 6PM, but since Cody was here I chose to do my hours for today last Friday. It was nice to have Cody here to distract me from the pressure of nursing school. He was honestly a reason why I had not snapped. This semester was just the beginning because my clinical hours would be double next semester. As tired as I was, I genuinely enjoyed working in this field.
"Morning" I greeted my barista, Danni.
"Good morning Madeline, your Monday usual?"
"Yes please, and a vanilla latte" I answered.
She smiled.
"You seem chirpier than usual"
I handed her my credit card and watched as she swiped it.
"My boyfriend is visiting" I told her.

"Oh nice, well have fun"
I laughed as she winked at me.
"Have a nice day Danni" I said as she handed me back my credit card.
My order was made quickly and I was on my way back to the condo. Making my way inside, I closed the door. I rushed to the living room and up the stairs to my room. The door to my room was closed, and there was no sign of Poppy. I quietly opened the door and stepped inside. The second I walked into my room, I smelled Cody who was fast asleep next to Poppy who had cuddled up against him. His scent was literally spread throughout the room...not that I minded. Slipping off my backpack, I set it on the floor before setting the two cups of coffee on my desk. Climbing up on my bed, I leaned over and kissed Cody's cheek.
"Good morning" I greeted when he stirred a bit.
He smiled and hummed as I leaned down to give him a kiss.
"Morning"
I smiled as he opened his eyes.
"I bring coffee," I told him as I light grazed his cheek.
"You're the best"
I gave him one quick kiss before climbing out of bed to retrieve our coffee.
"One vanilla latte," I said as I handed him his coffee.
He took the cup and I climbed back onto the bed.
"What'd you get?"
"Caramel macchiato" I answered.
I watched as he took a sip of his drink. Poppy meowed making Cody and I look at him.
"I missed you too Poppy"
"Are you hungry?" I wondered.
We both laughed as we heard his stomach growl.
"French toast?" I suggested.
"Yes please"
I kissed his cheek and began climbing out of the bed.

"I'll go with"
He climbed out of the bed and followed me out of the room. Making our way downstairs we heard light humming.
"Morning"
Annika looked up and smiled at Cody.
"Good morning"
He took a seat and chatted with her as she made her smoothie. While he did that, I busied myself and began making breakfast.
"Are those the roses I sent you?"
I glanced at Cody as I made the French toast mix.
"Yes" I answered.
Last week, he sent me a bouquet of 100 roses. Annika helped me divide them into two vases. One was on the coffee table and the other on the dining table.

How am I going to fit these all in one vase? 🙊

"We're back!"
I heard the front door shut close, and I continued prepping breakfast.
"And with groceries"
I moved out of the way, so they could put the groceries away. While they did that, I began making the tater tots.
"It's nice to officially meet you"
Cody nodded agreeing, greeted them.
"You touch my coffee, I will hit you with this spatula" I threatened Kasperi.
He frowned and proceed to brew his will own coffee. I quickly finished making breakfast and served all of it up in three plates. Cody then watched as I made four slices of avocado toast.
"Here you go" I told him as I handed him a slice.
"Thanks babe"
I smiled and took a seat next to him.
"What time is your flight tomorrow?" I asked.
William grinned.
"Why Mads?? Want the house to yourselves"
I simply rolled my eyes. My roommates were children. I loved them to bits though.
"How are you liking Toronto so far?"
Cody smiled.
"I woke up like a half hour ago, so I can't give you an answer"
Kasperi hummed.
"If you two go eat Chinese, bring back takeout"
William nodded agreeing.
"We will definitely be eating Chinese food tonight"
It was the first thing Cody suggested we do when he told me he was coming to Toronto. He had a small three day break until the PostSeason started and he was taking advantage of it.
"So besides eating Chinese food what is your plan for today?"
When Cody did not answer, they both looked at me.
"We're going to the aquarium" I replied.
He really wanted to go to the aquarium.
"I'm also taking him to the Hockey Hall of Fame" I added.
They both smiled.
"It's a shame you can't be at Saturday's game"
Cody headed back to LA on Wednesday. The Maple Leafs home opener was Saturday.
"Next time I'm here I'll go to one"
He would be here for Thanksgiving, and he was staying for a bit.
"Well you're going to love Toronto"
I looked at Cody who smiled at me.
"I love any place where Maddy is"
Both of them gagged where as Annika awed.
"You two are disgusting"
It was hard being in a long distance relationship, but there was something about this boy that made it worth it.

Sunchasers
As Arthur opens his eyes, he finds himself in an unknown place, smack-dab in the middle of nowhere, without anything to help him survive save for a set of pyjamas and little knowledge of outdoors survival. Follow his steps as he tries to figure out where he is, and what will become of him. Sunchasers is a Fantasy novel with a sprinkle of lightweight sort of LitRPG (i.e. without Classes or Stats). While the first ten or so chapters of Book I are about Arthur's lonesome survival, the rest of the story focuses more on exploration and the protagonist will come in contact with other people quite often. The novel is being written in British English and using the metrics system. (I do not own the Cover) Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy this journey! I have a Discord Server, Join Here!
