Madeline's POV- July 2017

Mom let out a sigh as she looked at me and then at the twins. She raised her hand and pointed at them.

"You two be good to Maddy"

Both Noah and Nate nodded.

"We will"

Noah was the first to be pulled into a hug, and he immediately groaned when she kissed his cheek.

"You know what will happen if you wipe your cheek"

He knew better than to wipe his cheek. If he did he would get more kisses which he hated. There used to be a point in life where Noah loved kisses.

"No baseball"

Nate grinned at mom as he pulled her into a hug.

"No playing baseball"

She kissed his cheek when he nodded.

"Good because we're going to go watch a baseball game"

Mom looked at me.

"I got this mom, you go and have fun" I told her as she hugged me.

"I'm a phone call away"

She kissed my cheek and pulled away. I looked at Mike who smiled.

"Please don't need us"

I laughed and accepted his hug.

"I won't" I assured him.

He winked at me as he picked up his and mom's carry on.

"I'll see you two in one week. Have fun, drink lots and get nice tans" I told them.

Nate nodded.

"Goodbye now"

The twins and I watched mom and Mike disappear into the crowd.

"Alright, lets go eat something and then go to that Dodgers game" I said.

"Are we picking up someone?"

"We are, Mady asked if she could get a ride" I answered.

"Well the let's go"

I made sure they were in the car before I made my way around the car.

"Seat belts" I ordered as I opened the car door.

We picked Mady up and decided on eating In-N-Out.

"Corey mentioned that your dad works for the Diamondbacks"

I nodded as I took a sip of my lemonade.

"So are you planning on driving to Arizona in two weeks?"

"I don't really like driving to Arizona" I admitted.

"Why's that?"

"I always get pulled over. Mom thinks it has to do with my car having California plates" I replied.

"Well that sucks"

I shrugged and took a bite of my burger.

"It is what it is. I'll still probably drive there, I know better than to spend money on a flight" I told her.

"Well if you decide that you're driving there, I'm a great co-pilot"

"You want to surprise Corey?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's hard doing that when I use his card to book a flight"

That made sense.

"Well then lets surprise him" I stated.

She smiled.

"There's no need to book a hotel, you can stay with me at my dad's house. They have a guest room" I offered.

"I'll probably take you up on that offer"

I watched as the twins slid out of the booth and made their way to get more lemonade.

"Corey was telling me that Nathan has warmed up to Cody"

I nodded.

"I'm glad your brother realized that Cody won't take you away from him"

"He still likes giving Cody a hard time" I told her.

"What sibling doesn't?"

That's true, I currently had an ongoing group chat with Ashli, Cole and Cody. The chat was filled with baby pictures of Cody and embarrassing stories of him.

"Can we go? I don't want to be late"

"Let's head out then" I said.

We stood up and tossed our trash away.

"So you have the house to yourself"

Mady winked and I laughed.

"the chances of those two walking in on us are high" I informed her.

"It's the thrill"

"You and Corey are freaks, aren't you?" I asked.

She laughed.

"A little kinkiness never hurt nobody"

That was true.

"Hey Maddy"

I looked away from her and smiled as i recognized the voice of the person standing across from us.

"Hi Ivan!"

Ivan was my only ex-boyfriend. He broke up with me right before I left for college telling me that long distance would never work between us. It was kind of the reason why I was a little hesitant about doing long distance with Cody.

"Hi, its so nice to see you" I said.

Ivan was my first love...my first everything.

"Congrats on graduating"

"You're halfway through med school" I stated.

"It's been hard"

He smiled.

"I ran into your mom at the grocery store last time. She told me you picked a Grad School program"

I nodded.

"Yeah, I start mid September" I informed him.

"Toronto?"

"Yes" I confirmed.

"I figured, it's been your top choice since forever"

He looked at Mady.

"Where are my manners? Hi, I'm Ivan"

They shook hands.

"I'm Madisyn"

He chuckled.

"I bet you also go by Mady"

She nodded.

"When do you head to Toronto?"

"Second week of September" I answered.

"Well we definitely need to catch up"

"We do, I'll text you?" I replied.

"I'll be waiting. It was nice meeting you, but I'm actually meeting someone"

"Girlfriend?" I wondered.

He nodded.

"Good for you, I'm happy for you" I said.

"Are you seeing someone?"

"I am" I replied.

"Please tell me it's not Auston"

"It is not" I responded.

"That is so nice to hear"

He smiled.

"I'll see you around, it was nice to meet you Madisyn"

And just like that he left.

"Ex?"

"Yes" I stated.

She just hummed.

"My only ex" I confessed.

"It's nice that you were able to stay friends"

"Did you date anyone before Corey?" I wondered.

"I actually did not. It's why Corey laughs at the rumors of me sleeping with my ex-boyfriends"

"What a horrible rumor" I noted.

From what I knew, Corey liked keeping his private life private and he hated being the center of attention.

"We trust each other, no stupid rumor will end our long relationship"

"That's true, you've been dating since high school" I answered.

At one point in my life, I was in love with Ivan. He was my High School sweetheart, but he broke up with me because of his own insecurities. I don't resent him for breaking up with me because it helped me grow to be the person I am today.

"Maddy, can you unlocked the car doors?"

I unlocked the doors to the car and watched as the twins got into the car.

"Who's Auston?"

"This guy I almost had something with" I replied.

I was not embarrassed to tell people about it. Nothing happened between Auston and I besides a kiss.

"I'm glad nothing happened"

The drive to Dodger Stadium was traffic filled, but that was because I was not the only one heading to the game.

"Are you doing the WAGs surprise charity fundraiser?"

Cody brought it up, but we both agreed to keep our relation away from the public eye.

"I'm not, Cody and I haven't been going out that long" I answered.

"So no public events"

Correct.

"Does that mean you're not going to Pingpong for a purpose?"

I nodded.

"A friend of mine will be in town, and although Cody did offer to pay I just didn't think it was right for him to pay for four tickets plus his own" I replied.

"You should come over"

Mady turned to the twins who smiled.

"Manny's making Mac and cheese"

"You should come, if you don't have anything planned" I offered.

"I've got nothing planned"

She smiled.

"What should I bring?"

The twins replied for me,

"Yourself"

I nodded agreeing earning a frown from her.
