"THERE'S A ZOO THREE BLOCKS AWAY as well. This is the perfect neighborhood. It's kid friendly, the crime rate is low and everything is within walking distance. Including supermarkets and clothing stores." Takashi informed the couple.

The older couple glanced at each other and Takashi took that split second to glance at his watch. He was literally off work in twenty minutes so he was glad this was his last showcase. He walked away a little to give the couple some privacy once he saw them whispering amongst themselves. Probably talking about the pros and cons of buying the house.

Takashi cleared his throat and pretended to walk around fixing stuff. Cool air whipped throughout the house since the front door was wide open. Whenever he was trying to sell a house he always kept the door open with the 'for sale' sign in the front so anyone who was interested could come in and ask questions. Though he usually only took people who made appointments, he wasn't completely against walk-ins either.

Takashi couldn't wait to get home because the day had been hard. Real estate wasn't always easy. Only because he didn't get paid unless he didn't sell. Takashi sold to rich people. He wasn't completely rich himself. But his clientele were doctors, lawyers and business owners so they were very well off. He got a percentage every time he got a house sold and he was hoping he would get this one off his hands. He hadn't been able to sell the last two homes and even though it hadn't messed up his family income yet, if he continued to not sell then it would.

"Excuse me sir,"

Takashi swung around and faced the older black woman who had a polite smile on her face. He walked over with a small smile of his own. "Yes ma'am, how may I help you?"

"T-this house...can you run over the cons again?"

Takashi almost wanted to scream, this was the bad part about selling houses. It was protocol to let customers know if anything was wrong with the house, the neighborhood or the area. And this particular house had been put on the market twice already and now he would have to explain why.

"Well there's nothing really wrong with the house itself. Like I said the crime rate is low, it's a great place for kids and everything. But," he said putting his hand out really quickly, "it was sold twice only because five years ago there was a death here. A little boy was running up and down and fell down the stairs. It was an accident. It was no murder or anything."

He made sure to leave out the part about it being sold twice because all the previous residents that lived here before said the place was haunted. They all claimed to have heard the little boy running around, giggling and even hear him fall down the steps. The home was beautiful but most believed it was haunted.

Takashi saw the older man chuckle like the story didn't bother him but he could tell he was uneasy. The woman gasped and put a hand on her chest. She turned and looked back at her husband who kind of gave her an uncaring look like it was up to her and whatever she wanted to do.

"We are not getting this house."

Fuck, Takashi thought, "Ma'am it's okay, it's a nice place. It—"

"We're fine, thank you." The woman said sternly, walking out with her husband speed walking behind her with his walking cane.

Takashi stood there with his lips tucked in as he watched them walk out the house. He headed toward the bathroom, irritated. He opened the door and pulled it back in even though he was the only one in the house. "Fuck!" He said out loud, pulling his zipper down.

Who the fuck believed in things like ghost? The house was great with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a pool and a basement. He would buy the house himself if he already didn't have two. He shook his head side to side as he released his bladder. He swore people were so childish sometimes. He lifted his arm to see it was 8:50PM. He decided he would pack up now and just go home. It was only ten more minutes left anyway. It wasn't like someone was going to walk through the door.

After shaking himself off and stuffing himself back in his suit pants, he washed his hands. His phone started to buzz in his pocket so after drying his hands, he retrieved his phone and put it to his ear. "Hello?"

"Tee?" Braelyn questioned.

"Yeah baby girl, what's up?"

"Oh, um...I was just calling to make sure you were okay." She got quiet for a while then cleared her throat. "It seems really quiet where you are. Is everything alright?"

Takashi smiled. "I'm just at work, baby. Did you guys eat? You want me to bring you back something?"

"No thank you, I already cooked. Spaghetti and meatballs. Brielle has been asking for it all day. She's asleep now, though. She said she missed you. She had wanted you to read her a bedtime story." Braelyn said.

"Oh man. Sorry, I got it next time. You okay?" He asked. Her call seemed random because it sounded like she didn't really have anything to say.

"Yes I'm fine."

Takashi smirked. He knew she missed him and wanted him to come home. "You miss me Brae?"

The line was dead silent and he almost thought she hung up. If she got too embarrassed she would be the type to do that then say the phone cut off. But he heard her slightly mumble, "Yes...I wanted us to go to sleep together."

"Okay sweetheart, I'll be home in thirty minutes, okay?"

"Okay...Takashi?"

"Yeah."

"Brielle and I love you."

"I love you guys too." He said. He waited until he heard her hang up before he did. Slipping his cellphone back into his pocket. He nearly had a heart attack when he heard someone shout.

"Hello?!"

Furrowing his eyebrows, Takashi slowly walked out of the bathroom. He had completely forgotten the front door was open. He made a mental note to start walking around with some kind of pocket knife because it could be any crazy person coming in off the street. But as Takashi assessed the guy's voice he didn't sound too menacing.

Takashi stepped from behind the wall where the bathroom was, startling the man.

"Oh my gosh, you made me jump." The man said putting a hand on his chest.

"As you did me just a while ago." Takashi said, "is there something I can help you with?"

Takashi took the man in. He was a little on the chubby side but the two breasted suit he wore looked expensive. He had a good job, Takashi could tell off the bat. He was trained to pick up on all those things in college. His hair was neat, freshly cut and he had some leather shoes of some Italian brand on his feet, the shoes were very pointed at the ends.

"I saw the sign out front. Open house so I—"

"Yeah but it also says it ends at nine. You came in a little late don't you think?" He said with a raised eyebrow. The place was so silent all they heard was a slight creak in the floorboard from upstairs.

"I understand but if you can just take a couple of minutes to show me around. I'm really interested in buying a house."

Takashi was more than annoyed, he wasn't about to show him shit. The house was really big so it took a while to show people around. Plus he would have to go over the pros and cons of the place and the statistics and attractions in the neighborhood and area. All of that combined at least took an hour and sometimes an hour and a half. He wasn't staying back extra time just to have the guy decline buying the house in the end anyway.

"Sorry I have to go. If you want, come back earlier tomorrow or make an appointment with me on my website." Takashi pat himself down and pulled a business card out his back pocket.

The man took it but didn't even glance at it. "Sir please."

The creak in the floorboard again made Takashi pause and look up at the ceiling. He was starting to believe the place was haunted for real. The man smiled and waved his hand in front of Takashi's face.

"Don't be alarmed, that's just my wife—my girlfriend I mean. She's just looking around."

Takashi immediately relaxed when he heard that then glanced at the man when he heard the two different answers. "You mean your wife or your girlfriend? Which one is it?"

"Girlfriend...I do have a wife though." He winked.

"Ah, so your sidechick." He said, disappearing into the kitchen where he returned with his leather jacket on and briefcase in hand.

Once the man saw that he was serious about leaving he got serious as well. "Just a few extra minutes. I really need to get this place for her. She needs somewhere to stay. If it was legal I would buy this place from you now and move in tonight. I already know about the little boy that died here and everything. I don't care about that, I just need a house."

Takashi couldn't front, hearing that last part had made him perk up tremendously. The house was technically perfect except for the death that happened. But since the man clearly stated he knew about it and it didn't bother him, he knew there was a ninety percent chance of selling this house. It was a little strange a man was willing to buy an entire house just for a woman on the side, but who was he to judge?

Takashi took his coat off, making the man smile. "Fine, but I still have to make this a little short. I'm suppose to be off the clock."

"Understood." The man said, then he extended his hand. "I'm Dexter."

"Takashi." He said as they shook hands. "Can you call your girlfriend down so I can show you guys the house together? Makes it easier that way."

As if on cue, the girl yelled from upstairs. "David where are you?"

Takashi looked at the man with a raised eyebrow. He saw the slight embarrassment on the man's face. Takashi had to stop himself from laughing. "How long you guys been seeing each other?"

"Four years."

Takashi chuckled. "Right. You mean four weeks?"

Dexter's smile faltered a bit. "No, four years."

Takashi looked at the man skeptically, he was starting to become really weird to him. "Four years and she can't remember your name? She just called you David."

Dexter gave an odd shrug. "Well it's better that way right? At least we know if she ever wants to bust me to my wife it won't happen." He said not really answering the question.

Takashi gave a tight lipped smile but said nothing. "Can you call your girlfriend down now sir?"

"Sure!" The man said looking over his shoulder toward the staircase. "Toryn!"

Hearing that name made Takashi freeze in his own body. His eyes travelled to the man who was still looking toward the staircase. The sound of heels began to click upstairs as it came closer toward the staircase. Takashi looked at Dexter in disbelief. There was no fucking way it could be her. It was impossible. Takashi could hear the heels coming closer. They sounded like someone dropping a brick on each step as the person was nearing. The muscles in his body locked up and his throat closed at just the thought of it being her.

"Aye man, she's a real piece of ass I'm telling you. You ever heard of the Spice mansion? Probably not, you look like a straight and narrow guy," Dexter said answering his own question.

Something was telling him he shouldn't be going around telling strangers this, but this Real Estate guy seemed cool so far. He noticed the wedding band on his finger which meant he was married as well. And when he brought up his sidechick Takashi didn't make a face or anything. So he figured he would be alright to share this kind of news with.

"You know what a brothel is though I'm sure. Everybody does. That's where I got her from. Bought her just like that. I basically own her. That's why I need this house. My wife can't know about this in anyway. I got myself my own whore. She can never leave me and she has to do what I say. Pretty cool huh?"

The entire time Takashi just stared at the staircase. A young girl came trudging down, humming something to herself. Her face was down as she was busy staring at the tacky decorations on her overly sparkly blue dress that barely went past her thighs. Her hair was clearly a weave with waves in it as it stopped right after her bra hook. The heels on the shoe she wore were extremely tiny and long, adding to her already lengthy height.

Takashi felt his eyes watering as memories of he and Toryn clouded his mind. This couldn't be her. Part of him was praying this girl wouldn't look up as she came toward them. Her smile. Her frown. Her scent. It vividly played in his mind like a movie. Takashi heard the man talking but everything was blocked out as the girl's head suddenly came up.

Takashi carefully swept her from the ground up. From her long lean legs to her slightly underweight frame. An audible gasp left his lips when he saw a shiny gold half heart pendant, sitting between the woman's breasts. He looked into her face and felt his heart shatter. Behind all the makeup he could make out her features clearly. Her skin was a healthy tan brown and she stood five foot eight. She was skinny, a little too skinny for her height. She had long eyelashes and medium sized lips. She squinted her eyes and made this weird facial expression as she pushed her heavy glasses higher up on her nose. She stood next to Dexter but stared at him with a blank expression. Was she still mad at him?

Even though he's been consistently seeing Toryn for four years, Dexter often couldn't get her out of his mind. It got so bad he developed a mini obsession with her and just going to visit her at the Spice mansion wasn't enough anymore. So months later he decided to purchase her. She cost a real chunk of money but he was the owner of two electronic shops so he had the money to spend.

"Toryn this is..." Dexter took a second to glance at the card in his hand since he already forgot the salesman's weird name. "Ta—Ta...Takashi. And Takashi this is—"

"Toryn?" Takashi whispered, taking a step forward. That one step enclosed the space between them, making him inhale the sweet scent of some type of fruit and blossoms. He couldn't believe after seven years of thinking, dreaming and wondering about her, she was now right in front of him.

"Huh?" Toryn said, looking up at him.

"Ah...sir?" Dexter said, putting a finger in the air.

"Tee look at me," Takashi said, his large palms cupping her small face. Toryn got tense immediately as she pulled her lips into a thin line. Takashi smiled, tears coming to his eyes. "It's me, ma. Takashi."

Toryn got a bit rattled as she clenched her fists. She didn't know anybody except Bull and David. Instead, she stared back as her own eyes began to fill with tears, because if anything, the only thing he was doing was scaring her. Looking at him she could see off the bat she'd never met this man a day in her life. He was very handsome and clean cut but she would remember a face like his. The only thing she was thinking was that he was crazy.

Takashi's toes curled inside his shoes, his heart was broken. He yanked her glasses off making her flinch violently. He smiled again, a small chuckle following after. "Nah don't do this to me, Tee. Don't tell me you forgot. It's me, Toryn. It's Takashi. We're best friends. We've known each other since we were five. We have the same birthday. You lived with me."

Toryn slowly shrugged. "I-I don't know you, I'm sorry."

Takashi quickly turned his back to wipe his face. Feelings of sorrow left his body as anger began to rise. He pinched the bridge of his nose to calm himself down. He would think she was trying to play a trick on him but he knew her. She would never joke at a time like this. The thing that hurt the most was her mother had been around the same age as Toryn now when she was this bad. Allen was only in her twenties and couldn't even remember she had a daughter. Toryn's brain seemed to be going at the same rate her mother's had been.

Dexter was spooked off his toes, feeling like he had walked into a sting operation. It was obvious the man knew who Toryn was and he didn't know what to do. He never thought he would run into someone from her past. No longer feeling like getting a house tour, the nervous business owner loosened his collar. "Okay sooo...we're gonna get outta here."

Takashi spun around baring his teeth like a pit bull. "You're not taking her any fucking where."

As scared as Dexter was, he couldn't just give Toryn up. He paid twenty five thousand dollars for her. "I paid money for her."

"I don't give a fuck, your not taking her." Takashi yanked Toryn's arm harder than he meant to, causing her to roughly stumble to his side.

"Sir if you don't let go of her right now. I will—"

A punch to the chubby man's face made blood spurt out his nose like someone stomping on a bottle of ketchup. Dexter hit the ground hard, shaking the house due to his 230 pound body. Takashi was over him delivering powerful blows to the man's face as Dexter shouted for him to get off of him.

"Oh my gosh! Stop! Stop! Your hurting him!" Toryn screamed in alarm. She wished Bull or one of the guards were here. They always broke up fights in the mansion.

"Get off me! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Dexter cried, trying to block every punch or stomp that Takashi hit him with.

"Trouble help me!" Toryn squealed with her eyes shut tight and her hands over her ears. She was so scared, "The Real Estate guy is beating up David! What should we do?"

Trouble appeared by Toryn with one of her eyebrows arched in the air. "Bitch we? You can try and break it up and get knocked out but I just got my hair done. Nobody pulling out this Remy boo."

Toryn didn't respond, she just flew over to Takashi and gripped his arm, trying to pull him off. "Mister please stop!" she said.

Takashi kicked Dexter one last time and backed up. "Get the fuck out."

Dexter scooted back as he tried hard to stand up but he kept slipping back down at first. When Takashi looked at his face he knew he had fucked up. His left eye was shut and his nose had swelled one size bigger. There was blood all over the place. His suit, the hardwood floor—he was leaking like he was about to die.

"How much did you pay for her?" Takashi said out of breath, digging into his wallet.

Toryn let go of him and ran over to Dexter trying to help him up. All they wanted was a house, she didn't know why the real estate guy was acting so crazy.

"Twenty five thousand."

Takashi's eyes were so cold when he glanced at him Dexter felt the chill run up his spine. The man quickly put his hands up feeling like Takashi would run up and deliver more blows again. "I'm serious, I'm serious! Twenty five grand! She's from a lucrative business. They run very high prices there."
