"All the games you played

The promises you made

Couldn't finish what you started

Only darkness still remains"

-Hey Monday

It was only a matter of time before the rightful Alpha, Jacob Black, shifted. Since he and Bella had been spending so much time together, it was like killing two birds with one stone. She could observe Bella and babysit Jacob, it was great.

Not

They were pretty boring together, all they did was flirt with lame jokes and Bella cried on his shoulder a lot.

Currently they were in the garage with the motorcycles and she slightly ducked her head when she saw the front door open. A deep laugh alerted her to Billy's presence and she peaked out to see Billy, Charlie and Harry coming out of the house. Billy caught her eye and slightly nodded at her in recognition, an action that didn't go unnoticed by Chief Swan.

"TJ? What are you doing in the woods? It's dangerous." Charlie called.

TJ walked out of the forest and up to the three men. She knew that Billy and Harry knew why she was here but Charlie didn't and couldn't know.

"She was just seeing if Jake was home." Billy covered. A terrible excuse as she's only actually spoken to the kid once, but it was better than whatever she was going to come up with.

"I didn't know you were friends with Jake." His tone was unconvinced, but she figured that's why he was such a good cop. He could smell bullshit from a mile away.

"Bella introduced me to him when Edward left and now we're like the three amigos."

And that is why TJ never lies, she was awful at it. Pinocchio had nothing on her.

He raised a brow at her and she took off towards the garage before he could say anything to her. She walked in to see Jacob leaning towards Bella's lips and she cleared her throat. They swiftly broke apart and looked at her in confusion.

"TJ? What are you doing here?" Bella asked, walking up to her friend and giving her a hug.

"Oh you know, just came to see how you are."

"I'm fine, great actually." TJ could tell that that was a half truth, she looked almost like the old Bella but TJ could still see a hint of sadness between her eyes. "I should be getting home now, Charlie doesn't want me out too long with the murders happening and all." She gave them both a small smile and left.

When she turned around, Jacob was looking at her angrily and stomped over to her. "Okay, cut the crap, why are you really here?"

She could tell that he was going through the change, first starters, he was taller than her now, by about 5 inches. He filled out like the other boys and she could feel the heat emitting off of him.

"Relax kid, I just came to see my friend."

"You're lying, and I know for a fact that you've been spying on me for awhile now. Did Sam put you up to it?" His eyes went black when he mentioned Sam's name, the future shifter surely hated him, for what reason, she wasn't exactly sure.

"Chill out kid, don't be such an egomaniac."

She turned around to walk away but Jacob put his hand on her shoulder, stopping her. She placed a hand on his and quickly twisted it behind his back. He groaned in pain.

"Touch me again, and it'll be the last thing you do. Got it?" She whispered in his ear

He quickly nodded and she let go.

"Stay away from Bella!"

Well someone had the nerve to make threats after they were immobilized by someone half their size.

"No can do Jake, I'm under strict orders to keep her safe, even from you."

She let him stew in her statement as she ran back to the woods. She knew that she was a horrible friend when she decided to keep the secret that she had seen Edward before he left. He told her that she was the only one that he trusted to keep Bella safe and made TJ promise to protect her, even from Jacob as they both knew that he'd turn soon. Although she knew deep down that Jacob wouldn't hurt Bella but she wanted to avoid a possible Sam/Leah/Emily situation.

She also knew that Jacob and Bella developed feelings for each other, Jacob's being stronger than Bella's. And while TJ didn't necessarily care for Jacob, she was certain that he was going to get hurt in the long run.

She ran through the forest, using her speed and arrived at Sam's in no time. Paul must've heard her coming because he was leaning against the porch pillar when she got there.

"What happened?" He could sense the anger rolling off her as soon as she got close enough. "I'm going to rip him apart!" Paul roared after she told him about her encounter with Jacob.

"There's no need babe, I handled it."

She placed her hands on his cheeks and made him look into her eyes. Paul knew that he was lucky to have someone like her. Even before he shifted, he always had a bad temper but instead of leaving him or staying away from him like other people did, TJ was always the first one to try to calm him down. Her eyes were as green as the forest today and he loved that they changed colors. It was probably one of his Top Five favorite features about her.

He wrapped his arms around her and inhaled into her neck, her scent had recently changed in the last few months but she still smelled of roses.

"Get off, I smell like sweat and look like shit." She whines and tried to push him off, though he knew that if she used her full strength, she could.

He never understood how she thought that she could ever look bad, she could dress in a garbage bag and still pull it off. Today she was wearing one of his hoodies, a pair of sweatpants, sneakers and she tried to tame her mane under a black hat that was probably his too.

"You look amazing Princess." He kissed her lips and released her, finally feeling better.

"Kiss ass." She mumbled with a smile.

"I'd love to do more than kiss your ass." He joked but she knew he was serious.

"Down boy." She pushed him away as he laughed.

"Are you sure you can't come to the movies TJ?" Bella asked over the phone.

As much as she wanted to spend time with Bella, she could think of a million other things she could do besides go to the movies with her friends and Jacob, and watch a movie about people punching each other.

"I'm sorry Bella. Next time for sure?"

"Alright." She sounded sad but little did she know, TJ was going to follow her to Port Angeles. "Bye."

"Bye Bella."

She pulled out of Jared's driveway with his truck and headed to the movie theater. She probably could've but she didn't want to run to Port Angeles so she took Jared's truck while he was on patrol.

If she knew that in the future that she'd end up being a glorified babysitter for the pack, she would've told Sam to go fuck himself when he asked her to help him when more people turned.

She was beginning to fall asleep when she saw Jacob run out of the theater, his face scrunched up in pain.

"Get in the truck!"

He wasted no time and jumped in the bed of the truck. She floored it and by the time they reached the Rez, he jumped out and ran into the forest. She trusted that Sam would be able to handle things from there so she drove to her house. She yawned as she walked into her house, her parents left her a note saying that they'd be home late. Not that that was a surprise. She stripped her clothes and plopped on her bed.

She was sure that she was only sleep a few hours before she heard knocking at her door. She was sleep deprived as it is and someone had the nerve to wake her up out of her sleep. She threw on a shirt that was Paul's and stomped angrily down the stairs to open the door to see Jacob Black.

"Do you know what time it is?"

"I know, I'm sorry." She noticed that he was half naked, his hair had been cut and he had a tattoo on his arm.

That was quick

She crossed her arms and cocked her hip to the side. "You shouldn't be here, you're still unstable and Paul will murder you."

"I know, I just... I saw everything and I wanted to apologize for how I treated you." He must've been referring the fact that when in wolf form, they could see each other's thoughts.

"It's fine, the others were the same way before they turned." They heard a bark and looked to see Jared in wolf form looking at them. "You should probably go."

He nodded. "Can we talk soon?"

"No problem." She slightly smiled at him and closed the door after he left.
