"I'll stop the whole world,

I'll stop the whole world,

From turning into a monster

Eating us alive"

-Paramore

Three years later....

Everyone knew of Trinity Marks, but no one actually knew her. She had been in school at the Rez for three years now and she had yet to talk to anyone. Not that no one hasn't tried, the girl just refuses to talk to anyone. The only time anyone has even heard her talk was when she first moved and introduced herself as TJ.

She was a beautiful girl, with her long dark brown hair that looked almost black, tan skin, eyes that changed according to the weather and a figure that girls would kill for. In fact, she was one of the most beautiful girls in all of LaPush High. Unlike most girls, she didn't flaunt her beauty in other people's faces, she just kept to herself and she liked it that way. The only thing she cared about was getting through her last year of high school so that she could travel.

The only thing that people knew about her was that she was adopted and that she hung out with Sam Uley. Rumor has it that Sam convinced her to join his cult and they deal drugs together. Something she found extremely ridiculous but she didn't bother confirming or denying it.

Today was no different, she arrived at school on her motorcycle and shook her head to get rid of the helmet hair before walking to her first period class. Math, she was great at it, but it was boring to her. She took her usual seat in the back of class and put her head down.

When the bell rang, Paul arrived just in time to sit in his seat next to TJ. He sat next to her in most of their classes together, but he doubted that she even noticed him. He was pretty popular in school but the teen girl could care less.

"Okay class, settle down, I'm going to write some equations on the board and I want some people to answer them." The teacher said as he walked in.

Paul took out his notebook and began copying down the problems as math wasn't a subject he was good in.

"Mr. Lahote." The teacher called after 20 minutes. "Would you mind waking Ms. Marks up?" The entire class turned around to look.

Paul gently nudged the girl in the side and she groaned, then lifted her head to look at him. He noticed that her usual hazel eyes had blue specks in them.

"Ms. Marks, what's the answer to number 1?" TJ looked at the board for a few seconds.

"24.33." Paul shivered, her voice was as soothing as wind chimes.

The teacher looked down at his paper and looked back up at her. "Good, but try not to sleep in my class."

She shot him a thumbs up before promptly putting her head back down, making Paul chuckle when he heard her breathing even out.

When the bell rang, she woke up, grabbed her backpack and all but ran out the class before the teacher had time to call her back. She had to patrol with Sam last night and didn't get to sleep until 3am.

To say that she was surprised when she found out about Sam's secret was a lie. Though the growing two more legs and sprouting hair thing threw her for a loop, she knew that he was hiding something. She had spent a lot of time at Sam and Emily's house over the summer and noticed that he was out all the time, he was always coming out of the forest and he could never explain to her what he was doing.

The only reason why she found out was because she kept pushing the subject, and at the time he wasn't quite in control of his anger, and he phased right in front of her. Then she was easily able to piece together how Emily got her scars. He seemed relieved that she had found out and asked her to help him patrol since he wasn't really sure what he was supposed to do, there hasn't been a shapeshifter in generations.

"I think Jared Cameron is going to phase, can you keep an eye out?"

As much as she didn't want to, she agreed because Sam said new shapeshifters can't control themselves. If someone even looked at him wrong, he could phase and endanger the people around him which TJ didn't want to happen even though she didn't like anyone here.

She didn't even know who he was, let alone what he looked like so she was at a disadvantage. The only thing Sam told her was that he'd have three traits to look out for.

Sudden muscle growth, hot headed and hot to the touch

As she was searching, she felt someone slam into her and fall to the ground. TJ looked down to see Paul Lahote, resident playboy of LaPush, she didn't see what was so great about him, he looked like everyone else. Tan skin, long hair and brown eyes, but all the girls seemed to fawn over him. Except TJ herself, she wasn't interested in him or anyone for that matter.

"Are you okay?" She asked. She stuck her hand out and pulled him up in one tug, surprising him with her strength.

He nodded and she gave him a once over to be sure and walked away, not noticing the everyone had stopped what they were doing to listen to the girl that never talked to anyone.

By lunch time, she knew who he was as the whole school—the girls— wouldn't stop talking about how he stopping talking to his closest friends and how muscular he had gotten.

TJ sat at her usual lunch table in the corner that had her back to the wall where she could see everyone that she had sat at since freshmen year and surveyed the cafe until her eyes landed on Jared.

He wasn't sitting with anyone but she could tell the future shape shifter was having problems. He was on edge, his eyes kept shifting from side to side and with TJ's great eyesight, she could see him shaking. She briefly caught his eyes and motioned him to follow her.

They had walked deep into the woods like Sam said and came upon a small clearing that she liked to go to.

"What the hell is going on?" He yelled.

"Calm down."

"Don't tell me to calm down! I feel... not myself... like I'm about to explode."

"Well try not to, at least until help arrives."

TJ could tell that her words weren't helping as Jared continued to shake uncontrollably. One minute she was looking at him and the next he turned into a large horse sized wolf right in front of her. She could tell that he was feeling overwhelmed as he crouched down and barred his teeth at her, his wolf instincts taking over. She could feel her flight or fight instincts kick in and launched at him at the same time that he came after her.

Sam could feel the shift in the air as soon as Jared phased, Jared's thoughts and images running through Sam's mind like a marathon. One image stood out, TJ in front of a raging Jared as she clutched her bloody shoulder while the injured arm made a fist to defend herself. He had never seen TJ in such a tired state, then again, they never trained with him in his wolf form.

TJ ran towards Jared at break neck speed and before Jared knew it, she flipped over him and landed behind him. He didn't even had a chance to turn around before she ducked under him and threw his body into a tree. The shapeshifter hit the tree trunk with a bang, but she could tell he wasn't dead, just unconscious.

By the time Sam arrived, TJ was panting hard as her vision grew spotty. The blood flowing from her wound like the Nile.

"Try to be a little faster next time, yeah?"
