《Frozen Heart》Chapter 7: Fueling up the Fire

"I'm sorry for that. I didn't intend on doing it. Chloe was the one who made me go opposite of you", the person on the other side of the call said.
Rose was quiet while hearing all the revelations and the only words that escaped her mouth was, "It's fine."
The other person continued to convince Rose that she wasn't at fault and apologised continuously trying to save her friendship with Rose.
Rose sighed once the call was hung up, tears welling up in the corner of her eyes. She scoffed and smiled shaking her head.
"Mom, the fight with Stacy that took place few weeks ago at school, you remember? It was fueled by my own friends behind my back", Rose told her mother.
"Who did?" Mrs. Simpson asked.
"Chloe and... Oparah", she replied.
"Oparah? I don't believe it", Mrs. Simpson frowned.
"You have to cause she herself told me that just now and apologised", she said.
"Okay, don't mind it. Just ignore that Stacy girl and this argument thing and forgive your friends. It usually happens in this age of yours. Gossiping and making good friends break up, going behind their backs and all. You're still in your growth phase, adolescence, so it happens. Just forget about this and focus on your academics", Mrs. Simpson said trying to make her daughter understand that it's useless to think on that matter.
"Hmm... I'll try. I'm going in my room", she said and went away.
I came into my room and saw my brother on his bed playing game on the phone.
"Get out of here", I said.
"What?!" He said which was a very obvious reaction after what I said.
"Go out, I'm gonna do some work", I said, calmer this time.
"Fine", he just left and I sat on my bed.

Where did I go wrong in my life? I've never ever had any fight like this in my life till now. My schoolmates and classmates have always been quite okay with me atleast they never tried to pick on a fight with me.
Until that day, Stacy, one of my friends who was friends with me since the start of middle school suddenly came to me with her so called girl gang and started an argument on an unusually useless topic!
That damn thing she was talking about had nothing to do with me! It was all Alfred's fault, well maybe not all but he started that thing. Anyways I was innocent yet she and her friends said I'm at fault.
Duh! I was confused! I tried to solve the matter quietly but naah! My lovely friend Stacy didn't want it to be quiet so here I go, I started being savage and this triggered her dear self respect. She threatened to beat me up. But y'all I'm Roséanne Simpson, why the fuck should I be scared?!
Observing the situation, my sweet ex bestie, Oparah Bridestone took me inside the classroom so as to avoid the pretty argument with my dear friend well not a friend anymore but yeah. We had different lectures so she left soon after calming me down.
I wasn't able to concentrate on my lecture cause of that silly argument. After school, I tried to talk out things with Stacy but she ignored me. I even tried to apologise for what I've not done just to save that friendship but guess what, that friendship was meant to be ruined.
And today, after weeks of that argument, Oparah called me and apologised. Man I was hella confused as in why she's apologising to me. Then she explained that it was her and Chloe who filled in the ears of Stacy and made her believe that it's me who tried to ruin her already ruined reputation. And now I understand why she was ignoring me cause she thought I'm a 'reputation ruiner' so why be friends with me right? *Scoffs*

Just cause of all this drama, there'll be one person from my school days with whom I was on bad terms. Though Stacy eventually realised that I wasn't at fault and tried to reconcile but now it was me who didn't want that friendship anymore cause I was done with all that drama of hers.
This was such a headache for me cause getting on bad terms with someone will be the least thing I would want in my life.
Anyways that's how I got to know that Oparah, who can talk and do bad behind me can't be my bestie. Although, she has tried to make it up to me and all but hey she can't bring back that friendship of mine! So yeah, she'll be one of my good friends but I doubt that she'll ever be my bestie again.
About Chloe, she's just a good buddy of mine and I never trusted on her with such things. She's been a gossiper and a friendship breaker. I don't think she'll break someone's friendship but- *sighs* I don't know anymore.
Chloe is younger than us by 1 year though she has a very sharp and clever mind. During our middle school, she manipulated Oparah which resulted in me being all alone. I don't know what she did or said to Oparah but she literally created a wall of fire between me and her and was constantly fueling it.
Ava stood for me at that time. I'm grateful to her but hey, I've been in her lows as well. As I told ya earlier, she's a reporter and a pro level gossiper. You'd rather trust a talking parrot than trusting her. Atleast the talking parrot won't remember things properly and won't spit it out like a wildfire.
I came back to my senses and realised that I was smiling the whole time. The get together made me remember our old days and this is what I remembered.
Seriously, people remember good things after having a good time and here I am remembering all these things which will only ruin my good mood.
I'd better study for tomorrow's online test.
( You thought that the incident happened in present? Nope dear readers, Rose was just remembering her past. Nowadays, whenever she remembers this fight of hers, she thinks how silly her friends were to fight on such of a useless topic. Anyways, is there anyone from your school with whom you are or were on bad terms?)
