Winter's calling

Night has fallen

Could you always come around?

I take a step back and stare at Damien like he has grown a second head. "What do you mean?"

He adjust his standing posture by straighten his back and keeping his hand in his pocket. "The Elsword is not a weapon for the eye amusement," He informs me and stand in front of the glass. "Come," He offers me his hand.

I take his hand and stand in front of him. "It's beautiful," I comment.

"It also cut really deep," He informs me.

I smile as I admire the beauty of the sword. I gasp when the sword start to glowing. I tighten my grip on his hand. "What's going on?" I ask nervously.

Damien places his second hand on my hand. "I don't know, it has never done this before," He seems surprised.

"Argh!" I groan as I suddenly feel the familiar burn on my body. "What's going on with me?"

Damien pulls away from me and take my hand in his, staring at it deeply. "It's changed," He notices.

Instead of the burning mark, it's glowing and the pain is reducing. "Are you still in pain?" He asks in concern.

I shake my head. "Not anymore," I say and stare at the sword. "What exactly is that thing?" I ask with a deep intense look.

"It's just a sword," He reminds me.

I scoff. "A glowing sword, any history behind it?"

I used to think Roman knew the answer everything but Damien's knowledge surpass his. Honestly I really don't know why I keep comparing the both of them, Damien is obviously better.

He sighs and stare at the glass. "The Blade is forged with fire of a dragon, nothing stands against it. The Elsword is created from the fire of Azar," He explains.

Azar from the incantation as in Azar The Great Dragon. "Azar? After the El Princess dragon."

Some legend it is, it's all starting to become real. I am losing my fucking mind.

"Legend says that the El Princess is the only one that can wield it. But I guess there is more to the blood than the steel," He speaks.

I roll my eyes at him. "You speak in idioms and I can't even understand half of what you're saying," Between him and Roman, he infuriates me more.

"You don't have to, a day will come when all this will be revealed to you," He mutters like he'd rather be anywhere else

"Why can't you just tell me," I throw my hand out in frustration, why can't anyone tell me anything.

"Because you won't find out the truth like this," He says.

"What truth?" Now, am convinced that there is more to what they are all letting on, and it's like everyone knows it but me.

"The-" I stop talking when I notice the sword glowing, it was glowing before but now it's more shiny. "Whoa!" I admire the sight in front. "It's really pretty."

Suddenly the sword disappears, making me flinch. "What.....what did....where did it go?" I turn to Damien, he doesn't seem surprised.

Am officially going to an Asylum after this, am losing my mind and-

I notice that my palm is gripping something, I look to see my hand clutching the sword. "Tell me what this means or am going to pass out ."

"It means you are worth of the sword," He informs me.

I release my hold on the sword but it didn't leave my hand. "So this is like the sword of truth and am Richard Cypher," I whisper.

"Who?"

I shake my head in disbelief. "Why won't it leave my hand?"

He shrugs. "I don't know."

I tuck the loose strand of my hair behind my ear and groan. "Why can't you just-" He cut me off before I explode.

He places his hand on my shoulder and stare deep into my eyes. "You don't have to figure it all out right now, you've had a long day, you should rest or perhaps go to Homecoming with Roman."

I raise an eyebrow in question. "Roman-" I cut myself off when I suddenly feel a familiar burn all over my body, I raise my hand up and stare at the sword. "The sword-"

"Wanted you here," He finishes it for me.

"Why?" It comes out as whisper. "Why me, why today?"

I watch as the sword fades away from my hand and also the strange symbols. I raise my hand and notice that everything is gone, all the markings are gone.

I sigh and grip Damien's collar and push him aggressive and slam his back against the wall. "Tell me what's happening to me or I swear to God I'll-" He interrupts me.

"Do what? Lose you hand around my neck, I don't like to be touched," He tells me in a form of warning.

I tighten my grip. "Why-"

Before I can get the chance to complete my sentence, he removes my hand from his neck and turn me around, slamming my chest against the wall with my left hand press behind my back in a very painful way.

"I did say I don't like to be touch," He speaks into my ear, I can feel his breath on me.

I slap my hand on the wall in submission. "Okay okay, am sorry, let me go," I plead.

He pushes himself away from me and take a step away from me. "You guys are just to over yourselves. Roman does it all the time, tries to be powerful too," I hold my hand and massage it. The only reason why am not angry is because I pushed him.

He scoffs. "I assure you that I am not a Bennet and trust me I am no scorpio," He reminds me.

His palms are hard but his touch is hard but not enough to leave a bruise. I place my hand on my hip. "What are you then?" He is not a witch but he is something, powerful enough to take my pain away.

He places his hand in his pocket. "Mind your own business birdie and I might stay out of your way," He warns.

I shake my head. "You are weird and you did promise to help me," I set a constant reminder.

"Call your parents and ask them about your childhood, specifically the first five years of your life," He orders.

I bite my bottom lip and stare at the floor. "That's a bit difficult because I have been trying them for months now and I can't get hold of them," I reply.

I don't understand them at all, I get it if they are mad at me for everything I have done but they got back at me by bring me here. I understand if Mom is still mad at me for my past behavior, My Mom loves keeping grudges, she doesn't know how to forgive which it understandable in her own way, I was a bad kid but Dad has no reason to ghost me, we were okay when I called him the night I first came here.

I just hope they are okay.

"Meet me in the library tomorrow morning, eight sharp, we are going on a joyride," He informs me.

"What?" My mouth drops open. He really means it when he said he wants to help.

"You heard me, and don't tell anyone."

"Okay." I can't argue anything with him because he is the only one willing to help me

"Okay, you can go spend the rest of your day with Roman," He says in a weird tone, the fact that he said Roman's name made it more weird.

I raise an eyebrow in question. "What's your deal with Roman anyway?"

He shrugs. "Nothing, just leave." He dismiss me with his hand but I'm not going anywhere, not until he tells me what's gotten him all worked up.

"Come with me," I suddenly suggest without thinking.

"Hmm?"

"You heard me," Giving him a pain of his own medicine.

"I don't do parties," He shakes his head.

"Neither do I," I tell him. I hate parties but giving what has happened today, I think I need some distraction before tomorrow, Damien said I shouldn't overthink anything or think about it at all, and I'm more than willing to comply, everything that has happened today seems unreal, even the burn mark are gone.

"Okay."

"Okay," I clap my hand, now that it settled, I'm just glad we agree on something.

"Don't tell anyone about what happened today," He tells me.

"I'll have to tell Dean," I may hate Dean with all gut but I really have to tell him and also Roman, I know I shouldn't tell him since they aren't willing to tell me what's going on but I don't think I can keep everything that happened today to myself.

"I'll tell him," Damien offers. Seeing that I have never met this guy before, am pretty sure Dean doesn't know him.

"Why?"

"He is my Dad," My mouth drops open in shock and surprise at the revelation.

"Hmm?" Dean forgot to tell me he had a very handsome son.

"You heard me," He smirks.

I nod. "So will you come with me to the Homecoming?"

He shrugs. "I don't know, are you going to dress up?"

I throw my head back and laugh, I hardly wear a dress not to talk of a ball gown. "No, I'm going like this," I say casually and stare down at my outfit, it's a simple outfit.

He shakes his head in disbelief. "You should dress up," He hesitates before continuing with his talk. "Not because they make you feel less of yourself but because you'll look beautiful in one, you are unique Camille Raven. I have never seen anyone like you," His eyes bores into mine.

I blush. "Since you asked nicely, I'll dress up just for you."

I step inside the school gymnasium and sigh. It's decorated in balloons and huge card letter that reads Homecoming, typical Highschool Junior Year Homecoming Dance decorations.

The students are dancing enthusiastic to the song the DJ is playing, am rolling my eyes at Nate and Jessica, they are behaving as if they are possessed especially Nate, that guy is a piece of work.

My eyes scan the dance floor for something, not sure what it is but am hoping to find something meaningful and fun. That seems fun. Roman and Penelope yelling at each other on the dance, am a sucker for couples quarrel especially when both parties are on the other side of the coin.

"You didn't wear a dress," The hair on my neck stands when a familiar voice says behind me. Fucking finally. I smile and keep my bottom lip as I turn around to meet his eyes.

"You didn't change," I notice he is still putting on his outfit.

He nods. "You didn't either," He notices that am still wearing my clothes from before, I didn't have to change. After we left the museum of dark object I rushed to my room and noticed that Jessica was gone, she left me a message that she might not be coming back tonight.

I smile and nod. "I guess we are not into dance," I say.

He nods. "Am not staying long, I came because you asked me to," He says sincerely.

"Thank you for coming, am not staying lo-"

"Cami!" Nate shouts from the dance floor.

I turn away from Damien to glare at him. I raise my middle finger at him and face Damien.

Damien opens his mouth to say something but didn't say because....

"Cami!" He shouts again.

I roll my eyes at raise my head to meet Damien's gaze. "Don't forget tomorrow, eight," He reminds me.

I nod and sigh. "I'll be there, can I ask you a question?" I ask knowing what is answer would be.

"No!" His answers is as expected.

I'll ask anyway. "Why don't I ever see you around?" I ask curiously.

He shrugs. "Am not a student," He answers curtly.

"I see, what about your Mom?" I ask curiously. That Dean doesn't look like he is man enough to father Damien, don't get me wrong I don't mean it in a bad way. Dean and Damien are two opposite pole, Damien isn't the laughing type of guy, he doesn't talk much, he is stoic and always so expressionless while Dean is just Dean.

"I told you to mind your business and I might stay out of your way," He warns and I know he means it. "Tomorrow Camille Raven, don't be late," He reminds.

He is about to turn but I stop him by gripping his arm and Man he is hard. "Why did you always call me that? Camille, Raven or Both," I ask curiously.

"They are your name," He answers and jerk my arm off his body and walks away.

My shoulder stoop so low as I watch him exit the gym. I pout when I realize he is not coming, I thought we are going to spend some time together.

I yelp when I suddenly feel a pair of hands grip my shoulder. I turn around to see Nate laughing at my reaction.

"You should see your face," He keeps laughing and stops when he notices the expression am wearing. "Not funny okay," He scratches the back of his neck nervously. "So who was that?" He asks raising his chin to the direction Damien went.

I shrug when another unwanted voice cut in. "Cami, it's so nice to see you. I thought you weren't coming," Jessica says.

I look at the direction Damien and nod. "I know, I changed my mind," I swallow and turn to the two.

Nate looks less like a clown in Tux, he looks really nice and handsome tonight, maybe it's his hair style or his unusual outfit, am used to seeing him with short hair and now they are growing and I don't think he is cutting it anytime soon.

Jessica looks really pretty, she always look beautiful but tonight she looks extraordinary in the pink flower ball gown, the way her hair is decorated with flowers. Now, they are making me feel insecure because of my outcast outfit.

"It's good that you are here, we were going to come to the your room with treats, so you can have your own private Homecoming with Jess and I," Nate assures me.

"You'd do that for me?" I thought they didn't care.

They both nod with Nate snorts. "Of course, there is no Nate and Jessie without Cami, there is no Super Teen League without Cami," He says.

I throw my head back and laugh. "Super Teen League?"

Jessica clears hee throat and stare at Nate. "We are still working on our team name," He clears his throat and smile nervously.

I nod. "How about Super League?" I suggest.

"Or Justice Affliction of The Vale?" Jessie suggests.

"Or that," I say with a smile.

Nate smiles. "Enough with the team name, I love this song, let's go," He clicks his fingers and seems impatient.

"Have fun kids," I wave them off.

"You are crazy to think we are going to dance without you," Nate says and take my hand as he pulls me to the dance floor.

"I hate you," I mutter as they both dance around me, my gaze scan the dance floor as I get my body moving. "Why didn't you tell me Penelope and Roman are an item?" I ask.

"They are on and off, why?"

I shrug. "Nothing," I whisper.

Am just wondering why Roman didn't tell me when I kissed him or when he kissed me, when we made out in my room.

Push all thought away. Focus on Nate and Jessica. Tomorrow is another day.
