Thunder in my chest

Adrenaline in my veins

You better bring your best

If you want to play my game

I have been spending so much time at lake. The only thing present from the past is this lake, even the houses that were here are gone like they were never here and the school, everything is just crazy, I wish Theo showed me the rest of Sabine and Eric, what happened to the town and the rest of the people. How did it go from a lively peaceful town to an haunted school.

I have been avoiding everyone. Well, it's not as if anyone wants to be around me. Dean isn't giving me the answer I want, infact he called me crazy when I told him about my trip to the past, he said it was Theo playing tricks on me, he also said there is no such thing as The Town Vale. Roman has been busy doing some stuff with Professor Holme, and Jessica won't just leave.

Her parents just allowed her to transfer to The Vale without demanding for an explanation, maybe they know about her powers, everything has been crazy lately with school work, assignments and figuring out my past. The two weeks trip made me less of a student, I am behind on everything and I need to catch up if I want to do attend my senior year next semester.

"You fight like you don't know what are you doing but your skills and technique is unique," An unfamiliar voice snaps me out of my thoughts and training.

Every since I got my ass kicked by Theo, I started training really hard, I pick up the sword and do whatever I can, whatever comes to my head since my Sensei isn't here to teach me, I don't know the first thing about sword fighting except sword cut deep.

I drop the sword on the ground and turn around to meet a dream blue eyes, I don't know who he is and I'm pretty he is new because I have never seem him before.

Theo is right about people dressing the way they want. This guy makes grey looks better on men, even better on him. The grey hoodie did wonders with his body, and The way his hair is spiky. Here I thought Roman is handsome, this guys is more. There is something about him that is dark and dangerous.

My type of guy.

"Thank you," I grin ear to ear. This is the best thing that has happened to me in this week.

He moves closer and asks. "Where did you learn it?" He uses his feet to bring the sword to his hand, it's very cool and am blushing at that skill.

I shrug. "I didn't. I was playing around with the sword," I answer. It's more like visualizing a memory I lost, I'm pretty I saw it somewhere.

He swings the sword in a very advance way. I am definitely inviting him back to my room for some private lessons.

"Not just the sword, the way your body was moving, your stepping. It's like you were doing it absentmindedly," He notices.

I blush and smile. "I was," I whisper.

"The technique is the INARAL WARMAD," He tells me.

I blink my eyes. I don't think I have ever heard someone sound hot while saying a foreign word.

"The who to the what?"

He frowns. "You really don't know?"

I just met this guy and I know it's going to be really hard to get him to laugh or smile or get any reaction out of him.

"I won't be asking if I did," Am confused.

"The INARAL WARMAD technique is an ancient skill used only by The DiHipians," He explains.

I nod but not in understanding or agreement way, I am totally lost here. "The DiHipians?" I ask with the raise of an eyebrow.

He scoffs. "Spend more time in the library," He says and throw the sword to me and I catch it.

"If it's ancient and only uses by some particular set of people. How come you know about it?" I ask curiously.

He dips his hands in his pocket and straighten his back. "Keep practicing and you might get it right," He advise me and turns his back, ready to leave.

"Hey, wait!" I stop him. "What's your name?" I ask as I stare at his back.

He tilts his head to side, giving me half of his face. "Damien."

I nod. "Damien, nice name," I smile nervously. "Am-" He interrupts me..... rudely.

"Camille Raven Stark, I know," He walks away.

I stare down at the sword and shake my head. "That is one creepy guy."

"Last chance to get your homecoming tickets!" A student in his football jersey repeats as he walks down the hallway.

Last chance to vote for your Homecoming Queen and King, blah blah kiss my ass. I am never the one to go to these kind of stuff, it's too stressfully.

I recently just found out that The Vale allows students to dress up how they want to the party and the after party. I have more pressing matters to see to than going to some stupid Highschool dance.

"Cami, get your Homecoming tickets?" The students asks me.

I shake my head. "I'm good," I reply. I'd rather sleep the night away than go some silly teenagers dance. The dance is tonight and the tickets is still out, they don't have great event planner.

I exchange some books from my locker to my bag and shut my locker, I almost yelp when I notice Jessica standing with her back against the locker beside mine. How long has she been standing there?

"I really love this place," She says and it's looks like she's staring into space.

She doesn't say, I knew Jessica would fit right in with them, she has high tolerance behavior than me, am surprised we are still roommates, we hardly even see each other anyway.

"I know, you blend in pretty great and quickly," I remind her and walk away.

I can hear her heavy boot dragging behind me. She needs to get the hint and leave me alone.

"Hey Jessica," Brie and Ari says as the wave at her.

Good! She's best friends with them too.

I turn back slightly to see Jessica smiling and waving at almost everyone in the hallway. She's been here for a month and everyone is nice to her unlike they were to me.

Jessica doesn't scream in the night and wake the whole school. A voice in my head keeps reminding me. I'm glad that Jessie is fitting right in, I just don't want to bring her down with my reputation.

"Fun aren't they?" She smiles.

I give her a fake smile and nod. "Hmm," I hum and wave. "See you."

"Cami, wait!" I halt at the sound of her desperate tone.

"What?" I demand without turning back.

I hear her sigh as she step in front of me. "We haven't talked about anything since you came back," I'm surprised she realized that, I thought she was busy hanging out with Penelope and Nate. Yes! She and Nate hit it up pretty quickly, they are going to the Homecoming together.

I lick my button lips. "I have been busy, still super busy," I wave my books in her face to prove myself, I really don't have to prove anything to anyone, it's my life and I can do anything I want.

I sigh and walk pass her. She is in my front again. Is super speed a Sage thing I don't know about? Because she's really fast.

"Cami, Please talk to me. Am sorry I didn't tell you about my powers or myself, I-" I interrupt her before she goes down the guilt road.

"I have no right to be mad at you," I tell her honestly. "It was your decision and I respect that. If you don't mind, am late for class," I swear I'm not mad at her, I respect that she didn't want to tell me, I didn't tell her that I am witch until she found out herself, maybe she already knew before, either way, it's her life.

"Cami, please let's talk after class," She pleads.

I look at her puppy eyes and it gets me all the time. "Fine, we'll talk during lunchtime," I agree and she sighs in relief. "Can I go now?"

She smiles and nod. "Yes, of course."

I smile and walk away from her.

I barge into the English class without any courtesy. Only a teacher that is stupid will let me off the hook.

"Good, Cami will play Jo," The English teacher, Mrs Nightley says.

The whole class turns their head to my direction. Great. "Jo?" I need to be sure that it's not the same Jo they are referring to.

"Jo March for the school play, Little Women," She explains further.

Crap.

"Am not an actress beside am more of an Amy, who's playing Laurie?" I ask curiously.

"It is either you play Jo or volunteer for the theater decorations," She offers.

So that's her ultimatum.

Isn't Jo one of the main character? Am sure there are more promising theater major students amongst us here.

I sigh. Might as well go for the latter. "Theater decorations," I say.

She adjust her glasses and frowns like she wasn't expecting me to back down. "It's settled then, see me after class Cami, and please come in," She ushers me in.

I swallow and enter the class. is boldly written on the board. I take my sit and remove my note from my bag, there is no much time left. Waking up late fucked up my whole day.

I take out my pen and start writing. I clear my mind and start listening to what Mrs Nightley is saying.

The bell rings after minutes of sitting. It's like everyone was waiting for the bell to ring, they all clear out their table.

"I want you to write an essay about anything, you are submitting next week Monday. The essay will be thirty five percent of your grade," She shouts for everyone to hear, I doubt they did, everyone's mind is set on going to the Homecoming.

I take my time in writing the assignment in my book and packing my stuff. I slung my bag on my shoulder and approach Mrs Nightley.

"You wanted to see me."

She raises her head up from her desk and removes her glass. "Yes, yes Cami. I do," She begins. "I know you joined late and your past records hasn't been good, exams is fast approaching. Is there a way you'd like me to help?"

I lick my lips and stare at my hand. I know am not academically strong but I try my best to do what I can.

"Get me off the decorations team and I promise to surprise you," I sound so sure.

She nods. "Okay but first I need to read essay to know for sure," She says.

"Thank you," I appreciate her effort. I turn my heel and start walk away.

"One more thing," She stops me when am about to step out.

I place my hand on the doorknob and turn back. "Next time you decide to go to the place you are invisible, don't take someone that will make you miss school for two weeks on a trip," She mentions.

"I don't understand what you mean by that," I know exactly what she means and how the hell did she know about my trip to the past?

Nothing in this school is secret, all those teachers are keeping something and I promise I find out what it is.

She smirks. "I think you do, don't forget my essay."

Weird.

Am back here again. The dinning hall with everyone else. It's really hard to concentrate on eating when everything everyone is talking about is how pretty their gown is, where they go after the dance, what they'll do. I hope The Vale has an anti - sex policy.

I look ahead to see Roman smiling with Penelope and Alyssa. There are two explanations to this; it's either he has gone mad or he's just behaving silly.

"Hey," Suddenly the sit in front of me is being occupied by Jessica. "Sorry for coming late," She drops her bag beside her and places her lunch on the table.

Salads are over rated and increasing the price of Pizza in the cafeteria is taking a toll on my pocket money, not a problem since my parents gave me enough allowance. Speaking of which I need to talk to them.

"Hmm," I hum. Am suddenly not feeling this talk again. "How are you?" I start the conversation.

She sighs. "I'm great and you?"

I sigh and tuck my hair behind my ear, I need some dye. "Stop being formal and let's get to the point," I say in a rather cool way.

She plays with the ring on her finger. "I have always had my powers and I knew about them, I come from a long line of powerful Sages, I didn't tell you because I didn't want to lose you," She explains to me.

"I get that but you should told me when you found out that I was a witch," I tell her.

She sighs and look down at her hand. "I have always known you were special and my theory was confirmed when you stepped out of The Vale school bus, that's when I knew. Am sorry for fooling you," She says.

I smile. "You didn't, you just neglected the truth, and I forgive you," I reply honestly.

"Are you sure I can't convince you to come to Nate and I to the dance?"

What a come back. One time we are talking about the past and now she's joking.

"And be a third wheel with you and Nate, I think am good," I joke.

She smiles. "We are good, right?" She isn't certain.

I nod. "Of course we are, we are Cam and Jess," I remind her.

"We are Cam and Jess, thank you."

"You are welcome," I say and raise on my feet. "There is something I need to do."

There is definitely something I need to do.
