When the lights go out
And leave you standing in the dark
No one ever told you this would be so hard
I know you think the fire burning out
But I still see you shining through

I frown as I listen to Dean lecture me, he hasn't stopped talking for almost twenty minutes, and am starting to get annoyed.
Yeah, yeah, yeah I know I messed up, I shouldn't have punched her in the face on my first day, but I don't regret it, I needed that bitch to know who she was dealing with, and am pretty sure she got the point, it's sad that it takes a punch to jaw to make her realize it.
"... Detention-" I interrupt him Immediately my brain picks the word.
"Did you just say detention?" I don't have to ask, I already know the answer to the question. "But you can't do that," I tighten my grip on the chair and lean towards him.
"I can and I just did," His voice is firm and full of confidence, this is why I hate authorities, they think because they have the power to order people around that they are more than they are.
"What about Penelope?" I ask suddenly.
He raises his eyebrows in question and close the book he was skimming. "What about her?" He drops the book on the desk and leans closer. "I find it odd that you want to know about the girl you injured."
"Actually I was asking if she was also getting a detention."
He snorts. "Yes but you and Roman will be cleaning your new room," He declares.
I furrow my brows in confusion. "My new room?"
He nods and adjust his tie. "Yes, your new room. Your father called and told me you don't like sharing your space, you should have told me."
I love you so much Dad.
"He is right, I hate sharing my space, and Alyssa isn't the most friendly person I can tolerate for the time being," I tell him. "Am confused though, I thought I can't have everything I want, somehow it the exact opposite that is happening."
First the food and now my room.
"We love to make our students comfortable, beside Alyssa's sister Alicia is resume tomorrow," He announces.
Better late than ever. So that's the real reason.
"Why Roman? I can clean a room by myself," I really want to talk to the guy but obviously he is avoiding me for some reason, I want to confront him when am good and ready.
"Let me give you a brief introduction to witches and coven, as you know I will be taking your Witchcraft 101 class," He reminds me.
Please do not turn this into a learning moment, that Chemistry question almost took half of my intelligence while trying to solve it, and I didn't even get the answer at the end, and now am supposed to be listening to Dean babble about witches and covens.
"All the witches in this school belongs to a coven, you know what a coven is right?" He asks.
I am not that dumb, of course I know what a coven is.
He passes the book he was reading to me, Hexcraft is boldly printed on it. Isn't Hexcraft the practice, art or skill of casting hexes and spells.
I carry the heavy book and open the first page, a pentagram is the first thing that I noticed.
"I know what a coven is, are you in one?" I ask curiously after closing the book. Leave me to study when am in the library.

"No!"
I raise my brows. I thought all witches or wizards belongs in a coven. "Why?"
I know it's none of my business but Dean seems mysterious and I want to know what he's hiding. "Because am not a witch," He admits.
"Oh," I sound surprised. "So if you are not a witch, what are you?"
He shakes his head and chuckles. "Can we get back to this please?"
I growl lowly. "By all means, hit me," I roll my eyes and cross my legs, and recline on the chair, I feel like a badass queen. I don't know why but I always feel powerful when am wearing a leather jacket and steel boot.
He frowns as if what I said was offensive. "I would never hit you, Camil-" I cut him off before I bust into a mocking laughter.
"I know, it's just a slang," I assure him.
How old is this man? He doesn't even know when am joking. I bet he has never smoked pot or gotten drunk in his life, honestly when I first met him, I thought he was a shit behind the suit.
He sighs in relief. "Okay," He says as he adjust himself on his chair. "Thirteen students represents each coven."
Nice, good to know. "Okay, so does that mean that there are thirteen covens?"
He shakes his head. "No, there are twelve covens, and each covens are unique in there own ways," He explains and I nod, indirectly giving him a go ahead.
"Brianna and Arianna represent the Gemini Coven because they are from the Gemini Coven-"
"Hey! Gemini, because they are twins and their horoscope?"
He chuckles. "Yes and yes," He answers.
I smile. "See I know stuff." I reply playfully as I raise my right leg and place it on his desk.
He chuckles and push my leg away from his desk, and frowns.
I grin because I know am getting to him. "The covens are arrange in hierarchy, the power flows in the chart-"
"I don't understand what you are trying say, can't you just use examples," I shrug.
He sighs and nods. "Okay, the witches from the Scorpio Coven are the most powerful while the witches of the Gemini Coven are the less powerful because they cannot cast a spell or use magic without each other," He explains.
I nod in understanding. "Explains why Arianna and Brianna are always together, are the witches from the Gemini Coven always creepy, you know like the creepy twins?"
He chuckles. "They are not creepy and not all Gemini witches behave like that, Brianna and Arianna are just...." He struggles for the right word. See they are creepy. "Special in their own way."
"So the Covens are named after the Horoscope?" I ask curiously.
He nods. "Yeah, and I don't know how they got it. Like how Arianna and Brianna represent the Gemini Coven, Penelope represent the Cancer Coven, Alyssa the Virgo Coven, you don't know the remaining students but I'll tell you the names of the Covens-"
"I know the horoscope you don't have to, I know the remaining. What about me, am born on the sixteenth of November, does that make me a witch from the Scorpio Coven?" I ask curiously.
He laughs and shakes his head. Well I don't see the humor in this. "You don't belong to any Coven."
I frown. "Why? I thought you said all witches-"
"Yeah all witches but you aren't just a witch," He tells me.

My mouth drops open. "Say what now?"
Three days ago I didn't know I had powers, I still don't but now am not just a witch.
That is convenient.
"You are a part witch, am still figuring the other part," He informs me.
"I thought powers are pass down, does that mean my parents are witches?"
"Trust me Corinne and Richard are very human, but if you are a witch, you'd be in Roman's Coven, the Scorpio Coven."
Why am I always afflicted with Roman?
"Okay, who else is a Scorpio?"
He sighs. "It's just Roman which is why he is going to be your mentor, kinda."
I hope he has been informed.
"Can I keep this?" I touch the Hexcraft.
He reaches for it. "Come get it after detention," He reminds me.
Detention, I almost forget about that.
"You need to work on your control, I don't know why you haven't sensed you powers," He seems like he is speaking to himself. "Anyways," He snaps and stand up. "You should join Roman and I in morning training, you'll learn stuffs."
"You want me to join you two in training, I think it's a good idea," I agree, if it means spending time with Roman and knowing why he's always weird around me.
"Good!" He claps his hand. "Now go serve your detention."
I pout. "Do I have to?" I whine.
He nods. "You punched a student, Camille."
I roll my eyes. I know I punched a student on my first day, am sure it will look good on my college application.
"She was a bitch," I conclude, I don't even need the conclusion, she is a total bitch.
"I know what kind of person Penelope is," He says. "And you can go now."
He whistles and his door opens revealing Roman, looking hot as hell. Well hello handsome.
"Dr Wallace," He greets.
"Hey Roman, like we talked about. Camille," I look between the two guys and shake my head.
Oh my Life.

The walk to the haunted room was silent, Roman stayed ahead of me, and no matter how much I try to catch up with him he just keeps going faster.
The room is like my old room except it very dirty, cobweb and dust everywhere. It's located down the hall beside Brie and Ari room.
"Okay, I need a broom and a total transformation of th-" The room transform into a clean room before I can finish my sentence. "What the hell?"
I turn around to meet Roman's gaze. "It's just an old parlor trick, Camille," He answers casually.
"Teach me how to do it," I request.
He laughs, his laughs is deep and I don't miss the mock in it. "This isn't a frat house party and this isn't chugging of a keg," He is trying to get to me.
I chuckle. "You know I was waiting for the right moment to say this but since you brought it up, why not let have it?"
He raises he eyebrows. "Humor me."
"Why are in always in my head, why do you keep calling me, why were you at Jessica's party, why did you ignore me, why-?"
"Is this is going to be a party of Why? The only reason you hear me in your brain is because you haven't learned anything, I am telepath among other things but I can't penetrate into others minds casually because they protected themselves, it's not my fault that you don't know anything about your powers."
I frown at his accusations. "So are you saying it's my fault?"
"Am not saying, it is your fault, if you haven't been spending all your time getting high and drunk, behaving like a fucking spoil brat-"
"Are you trying to get a reaction out of me, Roman? Because if you are, you are in luck," I say through my grit teeth as I feel my nail piercing through my fingers.
He sighs. "Am not trying to get a reaction, I ju-"
"Why don't you save it for someone who care, I know I don't, are we gonna do what we are here to do or not," I like the way am standing up for myself. I thought he wasn't much talker but I guess I was wrong.
Like a flash, my back is suddenly throw against the wall, Roman's body covering mine. I swallow hard as I try to breathe and control myself at the same time.
I watch his gaze move from my eyes to my mouth. "Watch that tone, Camille," He threatens.
I push him away from me with all my strength, I didn't miss the way his abs feels under my touch. "Or what?" I warn. "I dare you."
He smiles. "You are playing a dangerous game, and I like your energy, you are truly a Scorpio," His dimples shows as he smile, making him look more handsome. "Let get to work," He claps his hand and the room transform back to the way it was before he changed it.
I smile back. "You are playing a dangerous game, Roman. Okay, so what am I to do."
He smile mischievously.

We've been at it for hours, am starting to feel tired. Roman is sitting on the floor leaning against the wall, watching me work my magic.
He told me the spell and how I was going to do it but it's not working. I give up.
"This is pointless, I have been trying this for hours and it's not working, maybe you guys are wrong, maybe am not a witch," So many unanswered questions, when am done with all this, I'll ask Roman about everything.
"You blew up your father's car with your mind, how do you explain that?" The sound of his voice makes me turn to him.
I knew I heard my name that day. "How long have you been stalking me?"
He opens his eyes and meet my gaze. "Since the time I knew that I was the only one left in my Coven," He answers sincerely.
"Which was?"
"Two weeks ago," He replies.
That sounds nice, now I know he hasn't been stalking me for long. "Why didn't you just tell me, instead of hiding and hanging around me."
"I didn't want to scare you, I would have eventually but I always find you in a rather compromising position, so no," He rise from the floor and dust his jeans.
He moves me and turns me around. "Umm, what are you doing?"
He places his hands on my shoulder and trace it down to my palm slowly. "Clear your mind and focus, take a deep breath," He whispers inside my ear.
I close my eyes and focus on him, the way his hand is moving around me, the feel of his hands on me. "You know the spell," I can feel his breath on me.
Am pressing my back to his chest and his hand takes mine and direct it. "Now say it with me," He whispers.
"Er hekcta enjhi hava," We cast the spell together and I feel the room lights up, I watch as the room transform little by little.
"Wow, this is..." I smile.
"Amazing, I know," I feel the excitement in his voice. He removes his hand and everything went back to normal.
My smile fades as I look around the school. "What....what happened?"
"I want you to try it on your own," He encourages me.
I close my eyes and sigh. "Okay, take a deep breath and focus," I murmur and take a deep breaths. "Er hekcta enjhi hava," I say and open my eyes, just like it happened before, I feel the room lights up and notice the transformation. "Oh my God, it worked, I did it-"
I suck in wind as I saw a vision of myself drowning in fire.
"Camille, Camille!" I snap out of it when I feel Roman holding me and shaking me.
"Yes," I breath heavily.
"Are you okay? You kind of spaced out for a minute," He seems genuinely concern.
I look around the room. "Yeah yeah, I did magic? I actually did magic," I say in excitement and try to jump but I notice that I am still in Roman's arm.
He is looking down at me, like really looking at me, no scowling, glaring or frowning, he is smiling at me.
"Yes you did magic, good job," He comment.
Roman brings his hand up, and I almost flinch away, but not before the pad of his thumb caress my cheek. My lips part in surprise from his gentle touch. Who is this guy and where is the rude Roman? I look up to meet his green eyes and his pupils dilate.
"Right now, your eyes are glowing an orange color, and it's beautiful,"He says, so low that I lean closer to hear him. His hand is still on my face, and my mind is racing, am about to do something stupid. I wonder how soft his lips are. "I guess I better find out."
He raises his eyebrows. "What?"
I crash my lips against his, catching him totally off guard.
