《The Side Character ☑》Epilogue

"For the hundredth time Allie! It's fucking 3 am! Stop reading books on Wattpad!"

Gasping, I shield my laptop protectively, "But there's still one chapter left!"

Ryder groans from beside me, the soft glow of moonlight that was coming from our bedroom window casts a heavenly glow on his features. His tired eyes slowly flutter open as he lets out a sigh, "You have a flight at 8 am! How are you going to get up? And it's not good for the baby!"

I pout as my eyes cast themselves back at my stomach. A slight bump is showing clearly underneath the cream colour night shirt, "Not cool Ryder. Playing the baby card? That's called blackmailing."

Rolling his eyes, he snatches away my laptop and throws it over his shoulder as if it's a basketball.

A horrified scream escapes me, "No! Why would you do that? That's terrorism!"

He sighs exasperated, "Sometimes I forget the reason we got married. And stop screaming woman! Your laptop is fine."

I sigh in relief as he jerks his head to the other side, revealing my laptop that safely laid on the other side of the bed.

But as soon as I go to touch it, he swats my hand away, "No! Go to sleep!"

I glare at him with all my might, "I'm so going to divorce you if you keep doing this!"

"Go ahead," he smirks, "Let's see if anyone else can make you scream so loud-"

"Oh my God - I'm going to sleep okay?!" I yell as I quickly turn away from him and hide underneath the covers. My cheeks are blushing slightly but not with shame. No, no, I think I'm actually getting turned on.

Christ, why am I such a pervert even after ten years?!

It's your natural talent.

Did I mention that my subconscious still hasn't died?

The shuffle of sheets beside me tell me that he is going back to sleep too. Suddenly I feel a arm wrap itself around my waist and pulling me closer to a hard chest.

I smile softly as I feel his fingers run small circles on the skin of my stomach.

Who would have thought, huh?

I wasn't the good girl in high school. I was chubby, I drunk my ass off, I loved setting my friends up with random people.

Aww, you haven't changed a bit.

I was the girl that took the lyrics "I'm gonna swing from a chandelier." way too seriously. I was the comedian best friend. The side character in every story I read.

But somehow I still managed to fall in love with the bad boy. And miraculously got him to fall in love with me too.

It just shows that we should never stereotype ourselves. No matter who we are, what we like, how we walk. If you're a shy, stuttering girl it doesn't mean you have to be with the bad boy. You can date another shy guys just like you or who knows? Even maybe a cheerleader if you wanna swing that way. If you're a party crazy pervert like me, who said you can't be with the so-called-bad-boy-that-is-not-letting-me-read-Wattpad?

Who said the so-called-slut can't date the head cheerleader? Take Karin and Alexis for example. They are also married happily.

Who said the gang leader's daughter couldn't be a lawyer? And yes, Sam is currently a badass attorney along with her boyfriend Mason that's a psychology councilor.

Yes, even more surprises are waiting. Guess what Chloe is.

An FBI officer. Yes, you heard me. The shy girl that stayed in libraries 24/7 and had to be dragged to parties was an FBI officer.

Good lord.

And Andrew?

Well he was a...wait for it.

A kindergarten teacher. Man, I swear my friends were full of surprises.

Oh I totally forgot about us.

Ryder is actually a renowned novelist. That wasn't quite a surprise actually. With the amount of famous literature he read, I would have been worried if he didn't write something himself.

Oh and moi was a professional photographer. I was actually leaving for London for a photoshoot on the behalf of my company tomorrow.

It surprised everyone when I majored in this. After high school, I was baffled. I had no idea on where I wanted to go, what I wanted, whom I wanted to be; whereas everyone else had everything sorted out.

So I did the typical Alison thing and tried something stupid and new.

Of course it wasn't easy. I faced many many hardships along the way. The path was never lit brightly nor was it smooth. I fell over and over again. Things got so worse that Ryder and I also broke up once.

But somehow, it all worked out.

And I learned some important lessons along the way.

It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter which race, skin colour, personality you have. It doesn't matter.

Because no matter what, you can always be anything you want. Be anyone you want and be with anyone you want.

With these thoughts in my mind, I slowly drift off to a sweet and gentle sleep.

Hah! As if!

Slowly, I turn my head slightly and take a peek at his face. Midnight black hair falls messily over his forehead. His eyes are closed giving a full view of his long eyelashes.

His chest heaves up and down slowly indicating he is deep asleep.

Smirking, I turn back around and slowly slip my hand into my bra.

And bring out my secret phone.

P. S - I bought another one since mine broke from 'Strike!' on a certain someone's head.

Chuckling evilly, I power it on and start scrolling down.

Hah! In your face, Ryder! In your face!

"Allie!"

"Fuck, I thought you were asleep!"

Oh well.

Maybe, just maybe, this story...was about me.

And I was the main character.

A main character that was currently busy protecting her secret phone from her husband at 3 am at midnight.

Sometimes, I just....you know what? I give up.
