Marinette snorted and covered her mouth with her hand as she turned her head to look to her left shoulder, biting the inside of her cheek trying her best to not burst out laughing at what she was just told.

Her eyes wandered around the packed out room filled with people of both young and old in deep conversations and laughing with one another, all of them ignoring the fact that they barely knew each other and had only met for the first time that evening at the specific event which had only started an hour and a half ago.

She quickly cleared her throat and kept a neutral expression on her face before turning back around to face the group she was deep in conversation with too, but as soon as she met with the eyes of the man telling his stories she burst out laughing making said man come to an abrupt stop in his storytelling and the group of males and females turned to look at her with perplexed faces but small smiles appeared on their faces at the laughing bluenette who wouldn't stop.

Her stomach and cheeks hurt from her laughing and she wasn't sure how long she had been laughing but it tired her out ever so slightly, so slightly she barely even felt it.

She looked up at the bright lights and quickly blinked away the tears threatening to fall from her constant laughter, she didn't want to cry even if they were happy tears, she wouldn't risk ruining her make up so early on during the evening.

Using both her hands she fanned herself as she turned her body fully back around so she could face them full on and give them an explanation at her sudden burst of happiness.

"I am so sorry Nino but I just remembered that day so vividly and, and Oh God it was hilarious!"

She shook her head side to side several times but no too fast that she would ruin her outfit. She looked at the tan man who even in a formal setting still had his classic cap safely secured on his head were it belonged because frankly, everyone knew he looked better with it on than he did with it off.

At the brown wide eyes she saw as a reaction to what she had just said, she indulged into a story of her own about what happened later on during that certain day all those years ago. The group of friends left in tears and content pain that was all for a good cause.

It had been around three hours now into the evening and Marinette was now standing alone leaning against a white pillar, one foot propped up on the pillar as she scrolled through her phone.

She had a pounding headache from the bright lighting and the flashing lights of the paparazzi who wouldn't seem to back off no matter the number of security.

She had left her group of friends around thirty minutes ago and she knew they all went on to probably go eat from the buffet that they had for the event. The occasion was nothing special but it totally was very special.

Her oldest but non-biological brother had finally proposed last year and the engagement news had been all over the news. Everyone thought that when the word of the first Wayne wedding would bring about some people from the past and they obviously weren't wrong because many ex classmates came crawling back and begging down on their knees but they were payed no mind.

Today had finally come and the two love birds had gotten married, they couldn't be happier but when Kor'i accidentally spilled the beans that she was two months pregnant during her bachelorette party that Marinette and Steph organised - mainly Steph, the girls went mad but the news had yet to travel to the Wayne patriarch and that had been quite a surprise to the family knowing how quick and how bad they all were at secret keeping.

Marinette was wearing a black dress that was slightly tight but flowy at the same time just passing her knees with black flats covering both her feet, a see through shawl with red butterflies scattered all over draped over her shoulders making her a bit more secure at the amount of skin she was showing because did I mention she was wearing no tights and her dress was short sleeved.

Her cuts were still visible and would forever be apart of for till the day she was left underground, the shawl despite being see through helped her insecurity.

She had cut off her waist length hair so that it was now shoulder length and it was quite a big decision since she had been growing it for all the years she spent in Paris but that was the old her.

To prevent certain memories from resurfacing, she chopped of her luscious locks and the short hair felt nice and weight much less.

For today especially she had decided on curling her hair making just a few more inches shorter but she didn't mind, she liked how the curls sat on her and she actually felt pretty for once.

She let out a brief sight before turning off her phone since she had gotten bored of its contents and held it tightly in her hand, she had her purse on her when they had arrived at the venue but at one point during the night she remembered it being stolen by her blonde best friend who she hadn't seen since telling her stories with their group of friends.

"It's a very busy night yet your here all on your lonesome, whys that?"

The persons voice was one she hadn't heard before and for once she wasn't scared of the unknown voice, it was oddly welcoming for a stranger.

She turned to try find the source of the voice and the oxygen was knocked out from her lungs she she took in their appearance.

A feeling overcame her and it was a tingling feeling in her heart, the sensation making her want to clutch onto her heart but it didn't hurt, it made her feel all giddy and all in her feelings which she hadn't felt since she was fourteen, now being eighteen.

Yeah, it really has been a year since the final battle but we don't need details.

His blonde hair was slightly messy but not too much to make him look out of place in such a fancy setting, he was wearing a perfect fitting black suit alike to many of the other men in the room and a grey tissue neatly sticking out from his breast pocket, yet unlike the others he had no tie or bow tie either but Marinette didn't pay much attention to that minor detail.

"That's exactly why, its so busy and a little peace and quiet never hurt anyone."

She said with a shrug of her shoulders as with her propped up foot, pushed herself off the white pillar she had been leaning on so she could walk into the busy crowd of guests with the blonde man.

"Bride or Groom?"

The stranger asked as he followed her through the crowd, not losing sight of her through any of the twists and turns. She replied with ease as she quickly double checked the time on her phone making sure they weren't behind schedule.

"Groom."

Even with her back turned to him she knew he was nodding his head in reply at her answer.

Marinette squeezed her way through the last few people and found herself scanning over the few tables and chairs for a certain relative, her bluebell eyes stopping upon finding someone walking towards her and the blonde stranger in a black suit behind her.

"Hey Steph, where's Kor'i and Dick? It's time to cut the cake."

Marinette asked the blonde woman who stopped right besides her paying no mind at all to the man behind the two.

She hooked her right arm with the younger girls left arm as she gave her reply while fixing the bobby pin in her hair.

"Their having a few final pictures and Tim went rounding up the last few of us, luckily I found you before him so points to me!"

Stephanie laughed at herself victoriously and it made Marinette think the two of them had placed some sort of bet and by the looks of things, the adult besides her must've one and Marinette smiled, her red lips quirking upwards before answering with a quick response along the lines of 'Lead the way'

The two girls didn't make it that far before they were stopped by the same voice who belonged to the smart looking man that approached the bluenette not too long ago.

"Can I at least get a name or do I keep calling you the 'lonely girl'?"

The two turned their heads simultaneously and looked over at the blonde, Stephanie turning to the girl at her side with a slight head tilt and mirth swirling in her eyes as she studied her facial expressions with utter interest and curiosity.

"The names Marinette, might tell you my surname another day if you somehow in someway catch me again."

The blonde guy who was smartly dressed in a black suit nodded back with a soft smile on his lips, which remained as he answered back with his own.

"The names Felix."
