Lots of love, Abs xx
Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman stood in the doorway and glanced at the bluenette with nothing but gentle expressions.
The woman was someone Marinette knew for quite some time due to her being her dad's sort of 'colleague'.
She was also one of the many people who visited Marinette when she was sent to the hospital a few days back, they weren't able to have a one-to-one talk but it was nice seeing each other once again after a few years apart.
Walking into the room, the first thing Diana noticed was the petite bluenette peaking from where she sat on the sofa, automatically a small but gentle smile appeared on the older woman's face but something else soon caught her attention before she could venture further into the room.
Earlier during the day, Diana had gotten a call from Bruce asking for her to pay a visit. The call was quite vague as only a few words were said between the two adults, something that made her curious was that Marinette wanted to talk to her privately.
Diana had known Marinette for quite some time and loved her, how could someone not love her though? So when she heard of the young girls request, she had no reason to deny and that's how she found herself standing in the doorway of one of the several lounges in the Wayne Manor.
She stood frozen for a split second before she regained her posture and moved to sit besides the teenage girl. Several pairs of eyes followed her movements, including Marinette's but she was talking to the woman to make the awkward silence less awkward
"Diana! I'm so happy you were able to come, I was afraid it would be too last minute and you'd have to come another day."
A small but permanent smile remained on her lips as she turned her body back around to fully face the female adult.
"Don't fret Marinette, besides, I was free today and had nothing planned."
She shook her head slightly and sat with the girl, Marinette cleared her throat and made sure she sitting comfortably before she began.
"So..."
Marinette turned and looked to the few Kwami who sat with her, she took a double take upon finding a few more had arrived since the last time she looked in their direction. She eyed the group of kwami siblings and counted them mentally, twelve gods and goddess' were with her meaning there was only five missing but they were bound to join them soon.
Marinette turned back around to face Diana who was watching the encounter intently, without anymore time being wasted, Tikki flew forward with no hesitation and inspected the superheroine with so much interest. Her big sapphire eyes looking over her features and a smile soon appearing as she spun in circles mid-air.
"Oh, it's been way too long Diana!! How much you've grown since I saw you last!" a giggle followed her sentence as she stopped her circling motions.
Diana smiled.
"It truly has been quite some time hasn't it Tikki? How are you all?"

She looked further to the rest of the group where all seventeen Kwami sat, the only two missing were Noroo and Dusuu. Diana had the pleasure of meeting the Zodiac kwami when she was younger due to her mother being a holder of the ladybug miraculous, however she was still unaware of Paris' situation.
Her brown brows furrowed slightly as she gave the Kwami a head count mentally, she could recall each of their names and appearances by heart but there was something missing.
Not something, but someone.
Diana caught onto who was missing from the group and looked back to the red and black Goddess with a questioning look.
"No Noroo and Dusuu?"
Immediately, she noticed how Tikki faltered in the slightest before answering her question with no hesitation.
"That's actually why Marinette wanted to speak with you, Isn't that right Marinette?"
The two turned their attention onto the teenage girl who sat with anticipation as she watched them interact, she fiddled with the gold ring on her finger trying to find the correct words as to not alarm the woman before her.
"The butterfly and Peafowl miraculous have been missing for several years now Diana, someone found them less than recently and have been using it for all the wrong reasons."
Marinette licked her lips, the topic of the missing kwami always a sensitive one even if she had never met them personally. She still had a bond with them alike to the one she shared with all the kwami of the Zodiac box.
"However, someone found them and have been terrorising Paris for the past few years and I've been nothing but stupid not asking for help."
She sucked in a shaky breath before continuing.
"Master Fu, the previous Guardian, lost his memory and passed away from old age not too long ago. I've got no one else for guidance Diana."
Her voice was barely over a whisper at this point, her eyes blurring while talking about her former mentor. She tried her best to not cry and was doing a good job at it, all till she saw Wayzz in the corner of her eye and a rogue tear spilled out. She was quick to get rid of it and hastily wiped it away.
It was stupid for her to be crying, yet it seems that it's all she's been doing recently no matter how hard she tried not to.
Diana instantly paled at what she was hearing. The miraculous was something not to be messed with, especially if they're being used for evil. They were in the wrong hands and these two miraculi were quite powerful by themselves, one being the miraculous of transmission and the other of emotion.
Things must've been really bad and for only a few selected teenagers with no training to be protecting a city by themselves, it's no task for the faint of heart.
"How many of you are there?"
Her voice is firm but in reality, she herself is worried knowing what damage the miraculous can cause in the near future and has caused in the past. Nothing was ever pretty back then and they can be sure it won't be any different this time around.

Diana was internally cringing at the thought of teenagers fighting for not only their own lives but a whole city and if things got out of hand, the entire fate of the world would be in the hands of these teenagers. No one would be able to do much to stop or prevent such thing as the miraculous aren't to be messed with.
Kids were the final line of defence...
Only if things get that bad anyways... but if they act fast enough, then there's nothing to be worried about.
"It's complicated Diana."
Marinette licked her lips unsure of how to word her next sentence, she wasn't sure as to how the the woman sitting before her would react to this certain piece if information.
"There's three of us but it's mainly me... there's two other temporary holders back in Paris but it's getting harder and harder to access them due to their busy schedules. However, I have my eye on someone at the moment."
She mildly hinted out that she was considering giving Nino a miraculous but her trust issues were making things extremely hard for her as of right now.
Diana paled just upon hearing the first eight words spill from the teenage girls lips.
The room fell into an uncomfortable silence as the kwami and Marinette watched and waited for some sort of reaction come from Diana, any sort of reaction. Diana however was trying her best to stay calm and not freak out, while trying to do so she decided to inspect the appearance of Marinette.
Diana wasn't liking what she was seeing.
Marinette was worse for wear. You could see the dark bags under her eyes no matter how hard she tried to conceal them, her body was extremely malnourished for children her age and that was worrisome because no one knows how long she's been depriving herself from food.
Her hair was tied in a low ponytail but she hadn't cut her hair in a few years, only trimming it barely because she still wanted healthy hair but she only cut off at least a finger worth of hair. Short hair brought back too many memories from high school, she didn't need any of that on top of all the trauma she already carries.
Even with a blanket covering her shoulders and her shirt being a quarter length sleeved shirt, her bruises and cuts were more than apparent to the naked eye. Some looked like they were done to her by others while the rest were done by the girl herself, it made you wonder just how bad she was on the inside when she looked so bad on the outside.
The thought itself made Diana feel sick because heroes learn how to feign several emotions and the girl sitting in front of her is impeccably good at doing just that.
It just makes you wonder just what exactly had the teenager been through and what is she hiding?
Marinette looked like she needed a hug, desperately.
And that's exactly what Diana did. She didn't say anything nor did she comment on the piece of information she was given merely a few minutes ago. She moved from in front of the girl to besides her on the same sofa and gently engulfed her in a hug. She tried her best to be wary of the injuries Marinette wore, she didn't want to hurt her in any sort of way.
Marinette didn't flinch for the first time upon having physical contact with someone, she embraced the moment. She moved her hands around the waist of Diana and the two soon found themselves in a tight but warming hug that Marinette very much needed.
Marinette moved her head so that it rested on Diana's shoulder and closed her eyes, liking the soothing feeling and having not felt something like this in years.
Marinette never had a mother for her to have hugs alike to the one she was currently in.
A mothers love was something Marinette never got to have or experience, she never had that female figure in her life and has always been surrounded by men but never complained. She loved the family very much, adopted or unrelated they all meant something to her.
Even without a mother in her life, her big family filled up that void in less than seconds.
"Oh God, you're just a child with such a heavy burden on your shoulder. With any help you need, know that I'm always here for you Marinette."
Diana held Marinette's shoulders and looked into her glossy bluebell eyes. Marinette sniffled and nodded while she properly sat back down and looked back at all the Kwami's, all the kwami besides the two missing ones but that was sure to change soon. Marinette was going to make sure that was going to change soon.
The old Marinette was resurfacing and that was more than a good thing, It was an amazing thing and everyone would patiently wait till she was back to normal.
Being a hero means you experience things others never would of thought of happening. It brings along trauma, mental health issues and so so much more; it's a full blown package that no one's prepared for even when they join this type of life.
When entering this line of business, you need to read the fine print repeatedly before diving into the deep end because not everyone can swim.
Some people drown, having no knowledge on how to swim. Some people know how to swim yet they will drown but there will be people that have the knowledge and ability to swim and they attempt to get back up to the surface, and will even succeed.
But there's also people like this who have others on standby and prepared to come to help you, that's currently Marinette.
She's been all these people at least once in her life and show won't try to deny it no matter how much it hurt's.
Diana's words was all Marinette needed to hear from her, the words that left the woman's lips did nothing but boost her confidence and even made her happy and made her see something positive in the near future. It had surely been quite some time in which Marinette was excited or eager for the an event in the future to occur.
That was all the reassurance Marinette needed.
That's all Marinette needed to hear from the Wonder Woman.
A small smile appeared back onto the bluenette's soft lips,
"So, let's start from the beginning then, shall we?"
