《Who am I?! (Completed)》Chapter 9

Her limping stopped to stare at her brother
"The ex boyfriend huh?"
Nodding in confirmation they walk again, well they try, Marinette winces from the pain shooting in her right foot, she hasn't felt anything in it since it was stepped on.
"Climb on my back." if it was someone who wasn't her brother saying that she would've been sceptical.
Sitting on her brothers back comfortably, her arms wrapped around his neck, her scarf stuck in her hands grip also wrapped around his neck.
"How did you find us? What did you do to him? Where did h-"
Her sequence of speeding questions came to a halt, interrupted by the brother
"Just call it pure luck and I just punched him nothing more, I wish I did more though but you come first. As for where the bitc- Jerk went, he ran off like the coward he is."
Listening to his voice, she lay her head against his shoulder, her eyes closed embracing the moment.
"I'm not too heavy am I?" her question seemed to be a joke to the man.
"Heavy?! Pixie your as light as a feather, you could sit on my back all day and it wouldn't make a difference!" his answer seemed to be positive, it was the product of her not eating properly. Her goal was to lose weight, she was insecure, she was bullied for it, it was the reason she didn't wear much tight clothes.
Would he realise that her weight isn't healthy for people her age? Would he see how skinny she actually is? How her arms and legs are as thin as sticks? Would he question her health? Would the rest of her family find out? Couldn't she just live life without any of these doubts circling in her mind? Can she just be confident about her body?
She's being genuine. She's not like Lila going overboard with makeup. She's done her research, She tried working out but being ladybug was more than working out could offer. She tried diet approved food but they had this weird taste she wasn't very fond of. So her last option was lessening her portions which she managed, then when her mental health started to deteriorate she started to skip meals and ended up not eating for days, consuming only water and occasionally coffee.
"When we get to the Manor we'll get Alfred to check it for you, you can't convince me otherwise."
Just as she was about to intrude he countered, it seems she hadn't changed much if he could still predict what she was going to say next. She pouted into his shoulder, he must've felt it because he laughed. The walk was a peaceful one overall, she truly could've fallen asleep if it wasn't for the constant throbbing in her feet, reminding her of what Adrien had done. The distance also didn't seem to be that much because the next thing she knew was that Jason had come to a stop and his left hand went to knock on a door.
"Master Jason, Miss Marinette."
She hadn't looked up from his shoulder, the British accent that spoke more than recognisable. She nodded, her head shaking up and down against his shoulder, she couldn't be asked to talk but was sure she'd be bombarded by questions as soon as the rest of the Manors inhabitants saw her state. She wasn't sure where they were now but as mentioned, she couldn't be asked to talk.

The next thing she knew was that she was sat on what seemed to be a medical bed, she's sat on many in her lifetime so far to know what one feels and looks like, they nearly looked identical. Her multi coloured scarf now resting on her lap acting like a blanket, just as the butler inspected her foot, the pain not subsiding when she suddenly heard a shout.
"Get away Demon Spawn!!" the voice sounded familiar yet she really wasn't in the mood to use her brains.
"Alfred, tell Damien!- Marinette." his tone flipped like a switch upon the sight of his sister.
"What happen- why are you here?" she noticed the bags under his eyes and the empty mug he had in his hand. "
"Where do you think you're- going Drake..." the new persons voice too got lower from its raised volume.
Staring at the new figure that entered the room, they both studied each other, Marinette didn't really mind, people always looked at her and some giving her looks of disgust. The person seemed to fit the exact description of her half brother.
Her father had mentioned him to her on the phone when he arrived, no matter how many times they would facetime and she would meet everyone else in the family, she never met him, apparently it was him as a person, not liking new people.
"You must be Damien, I'm Marinette." she didn't bother with any physical contact, he didn't seem to be the type who enjoyed that from his posture.
"Okay well done, the half siblings have finally met but back to my question. Why are you here?" Tim's question cut through the moment of silence.
"We talked about this yesterday Tim." his face seemed to be calculating and then it changed into some sort of realisation.
"Guess who I happened to bump into replacement?" Tim's eyes moved to the other sibling standing in the room, he stayed quiet encouraging him to go on.
"The ex" his eyes seemed to process the two words he heard before his eyes went wide,
"The Agreste kid?" his tone getting low.
"This ex you mention must be the one who did this to Miss Marinette, your foot seems to be broken."
She stayed quiet, taking in the information, she's had worse, she'll heal.
"He's done worse than this apparently." she mumbled under her breath but caught the four men's attention.
"Would you like to repeat that? we couldn't quite hear you young miss." Marinette gulped trying not to look in Alfred's direction.
Looking to and from the four figures she let out a sigh
"N-nothing, we just don't have the best history over the past year." her eyes shifted to her nude painted nails, not wanting to see the fury on their faces.
"We've got some questions for you Mari, care to join us in the living room?"
She nodded in reply not trying to argue.
*****
"Alright let's get this straight, this boy, you used to hate him when he tried taking gum off your seat on his first day but then he made it up to you and you got a crush."

"That's right."
"Then after one and a half years of not realising you, he started to pursue you"
"Yupp."
"The after you guys got closer he asked you out and you became a couple."
"Correct."
"You had a lovely start for five ish months."
"Yeah."
"The he started to get abusive for a reason, you don't know."
"That's true."
"Then he became obsessive and your relationship soon became toxic."
"Uhuh, "
"You broke up with him because you couldn't deal with his behaviour but he still tries to get back together claiming you still love him and he still loves you."
She stayed quiet.
It was true, their relationship started off like a fairy tale but he just chose to become an abusive and obsessive boyfriend: Making sure she always sent pictures of where she was and who she was with, not letting her go anywhere without his knowledge or him as chaperone, restricting her, shouting at her, he started to slap her before it got worse. She ended it after she was left in similar conditions the class left her in.
Her affection soon died out after his sudden turn in behaviour. She could no longer imagine nor to even try and think of a future with them together without anything bad happening, her not being happy, being forced, not having a say in what happened. That wasn't the future she pictured for herself nor did she want, she would never wish that on anyone.
"That prick, I just wanna strangle him. I should've done more than punch him." this earnt a chuckle from the bluenette.
"I wish you did, I wish I did." she confessed.
Alfred had carefully bandaged her foot, the material very different to the one the hospital in Paris had but secure. Her boot covered it, it wouldn't bring any sort of unwanted attention her way when her class would answer.
She didn't notice as two other figures entered the room during her explanation.
"I've got a question for you Marinette." she looked up to her father, when did he enter the room?
"Shoot." he took a seat in front of his daughter who sat on the living room sofa.
"Is there a heroine in Paris that goes by the name of Ladybug?" Her heart stopped.
The whole world stopped in that exact moment, how did they find out? They weren't meant to!
Unknown to the men and girl in the room, green and red flashed in her eyes, her aura changing into one of protection, so quick none noticed. The colours matching the exact colours of the Ladybug and Turtle Miraculous. If you would like an explanation of what is happening right now, Marinette is the Great Guardian of the Miraculous and she's one of the most powerful there's been.
When a guardian is as powerful as her, they inherit a sort of power. The power is basically the power of each miraculous, her eyes would change to that certain Kwami's colour, her aura changing to the assigned power, and she would have that power in her hands; all till she would go back to normal. So right now, Marinette's eyes have flashed red and green, red symbolising Tikki and green for Wayzz. Why these two exactly.
Her eyes flashed green, her aura changed to one of protection because her goal was simple, protect Paris.
She needed to protect Paris from the evil that terrorised them, even if it meant killing herself, it was what she needed to do. She couldn't get her family involved, if they saw what she saw, fought what she fought, did what she did, she wouldn't enjoy the outcome. She didn't want them to end up like her, it would break her if she brought that fate upon them.
If she had to see them get hurt and possibly even die while fighting Hawkmoth and then resurrect them, them forgetting the traumatic events. She wouldn't be able to see them die and come back, and then be oblivious, she couldn't. This was why she flashed green and her aura changed.
As for why it flashed red, it was because she currently and permanently wields the ladybug Miraculous, she was its true holder and only one since Master Fu last put it into circulation. Despite representing all the Miraculous equally, the ladybug was the one she related and represented the most.
"I want the truth Marinette."
Unknowingly, her breath began to quicken at a slow pace symbolising another panic attack.
She nodded in response, "The evil she fights mainly affects Paris but there have been times that it's affected the whole world."
The room stayed silent before a voice spoke up. "What do you mean?"
She understood their confusion, she could let them know of the few Akumas that went world wide, right?
"There was stormy weather, she moved the earth from its place, moving it away from the sun. It went so cold the cameras couldn't even video the battle. There was also technoliser in New York when Hawkmoth travelled there on American and French friendship week; He nearly started a third world war."
She went silent, her vision blurring at the remembrance of the attacks, her breathing back to its original pace.
"When was this?" She looked back up to her father.
"Around four years ago I think" she notices the rooms shift in tension. This had been happening for this long without anyone else's knowledge of the matter.
"I don't know much, just that Hawkmoth is still at it, trying to obtain their miraculous." the looks they gave her needed no explanation, they were confused and didn't know what a miraculous was.
"We don't know much about the miraculous really. We just know by default that it's what gives them their powers and Hawkmoth wants the black cat and ladybug one. I think during one of the battles where he actually showed up he mentioned them being a ring and a pair of earrings."
She shrugged, yes she was telling them a lie but when Hawkmoth happened to appear in public, he mentioned he wanted them to give up their earrings and ring.
The family listened intently to the new found information, however they weren't paying much attention to the black earrings and gold ring that the bluenette wore.

The Girl Named Rino
Oh. Hello. I didn't see you come in. No, don't worry. I don't need to hear your name. I already know what it is. I also knew that you'd come up at around this time. But, at the same time, I also didn't know. It's very hard to put into words - but that's what happens when you become the Chaos God. Your psyche gets messed up, big time. That's even more so for me, who was already warped enough to confuse reality with imagination - and, even make the rest of the universe believe that it was so. But, enough about me. Let's talk about you. You seem to come from a very far away land. It's faint, but your presence is there - in a relatively primitive planet. No wonder, no one wanted to stay in, or conquer your region of the universe - there's nothing worth controlling there. Your existence, much like your entire solar system, also seems to be pretty insignificant. Tell me, is your race capable of destroying your own world? Oh, you're already well along the way? Global Warming? Pollution? Overpopulation? Nuclear weapons? Wow... it's been many millenia since I'd last heard of such ancient concepts from someone who is actually living through it. Still, good job getting that far. That means that your world is now, at least, worth considering as a possible place to install a World System. If I find the time, I'll try surveying it. You can just thank me, later. Oh wait! What kind of person am I, not even offering my guest any hospitality. I'm ashamed. Please, take a seat. What would you like? I have everything the multiverse has to offer, whatever it is you want - I can get. Ah! After we talk, would you mind, if I asked you to do me a tiny favor? There's this girl, I want to keep tabs on. She's in one of the Worlds that I preside over, it's called Aiarthe. But, for some reason, I can't see her - not directly, at least. All I need you to do, is check up on her from time to time. Whether you do it as a pure spectator or through someone else's eyes, is entirely up to you. Really!? You would!? Wow! Thanks! You really did me, a huge solid there! For agreeing so quickly, how about I get started on surveying that planet of yours, right now!? You can help yourself, to anything in the fridge! Well, see ya!
