《My Savior - (A Donnie x reader Fanfic)》Chapter 5 - The Lair

Weeks had gone by since you had last seen Donnie in person. Neither you or Donnie had proposed a meet up. Of course you texted. But it wasn't the same. You didn't dare ask about it though, he was probably just as embarrassed as you were, if not more.
Your mom could- Unfortunately- read you like a book, and knew exactly what was going on. She asked you completely unprovoked. 'Did something happen between you and Donnie?" you could feel yourself blush, but Denied it. "No, mom. He's just been busy!"
Your mom shot you a look. She knew you were lying. "Fine!' you yelled, taking a seat on the couch next to her. "Last time we saw each other... he kissed me" your mom looked at you in shock. "He likes you?" you grabbed one of the throw pillows on the couch. ''I don't know... he didn't kiss me like... of his own accord" you admitted "after he walked me home i asked 'do I not get a goodnight kiss' as a joke and..." you blushed, burying your face into the fluffy square pillow
"Did you like it?" "MOM!" she laughed, putting a hand on the small of our back. "Do you like him?" she asked softly. You nodded "even if he did like me, i don't think he does anymore" your mom frowned. "Give me your phone, i'll talk to him" "NO!" you squealed, blushing more.
"I'll talk to him, you'll just make things worse!" your mom chuckled as you went to your room. You laid on your bed, swiping through the many, many photos you had taken on your adventures with Donnie. Suddenly, you got a text.
'We should hang out again soon. I miss you"
You blushed heavily. 'He misses me' you thought, smiling.

'Sure thing Don!'
'Great, ill pick you up at 7!'
Smiling, you began to get ready. Of course you told your mom that you were going to go out with Donnie. She smiled and shook her head as you ran around trying to get ready.
At 7 you heard a knock at your back door. You threw your hoodie on and ran to the door, throwing it open only to be greeted bt Raph. "where's Donnie?" you asked. Raph humphed "he asked me to pick you up. He still had to get ready. You smiled "alright, where are we going?"
Raph lead you to an Alleyway, and opened a manhole cover. "There's no way in hell im going in there" "oh yes you are!" raph retorted, picking you up and slinging you over his shoulder.
You screamed as he jumped into the sewers. "Jesus Christ! You got some good lungs" Raph teased, pretending to clean out his ear. You scowled at him, crossing your arms. "This way" Raph said, walking.
You followed Raph reluctantly, slightly annoyed that Donnie had not come to get you himself. "Where are we going?!" you demanded, still upset with Raph. "we're almost there, calm down" Raph retorted, leading you to what appeared to be an abandoned subway station.
Looking around, you saw that the place had been converted into a living space. There was a couch, a tv, a kitchen, everything. "Is the where you guys live?" you questioned. Raph nodded. Just then, you saw Donnie in the corner of the room, sweeping.
"Donnie!" you yelled, running to him. He dropped the broom he was holding as you jumped into his arms, hugging him tightly. He returned the hug of course. "I missed you" you admitted, feeling your face heat up.

"I missed you too"
You smiled as Donnie put you back down, then quickly finished sweeping. "Raph was supposed to stall you a bit... im still not done cleaning" you chuckled,'' This place is freaking spotless Don. its fine" he smiled.
God his smile was infectious. You couldn't help but smile back at him. "Well... since you're here, I might as well show you around" he took your hand and began leading you around, smiling wide the whole time.
After your tour, Donnie brought you into the Dojo. when you walked in, you saw a large Mutant rat sitting in the middle of the Dojo. "Master Splinter?" Donnie began. "This is (Y/N)" you waved as splinter looked up from his meditation.
"It is wonderful to finally meet the one who has gotten Donatello so worked up" he commented. You blushed slightly. "Thank you Master Splinter, its an honour to finally meet you too"
After talking to Splinter for a while, Donnie lead you to his lab. He said that there was something he had to show you there. You looked around as Donnie rummaged through piles of papers and files.
Looking around, you saw the Shellraiser and Metalhead, among many other creatures you didn't know the names of. Suddenly Donnie perked up, pulling a small Key out a drawer. You cocked your head to the side. "What's that for Don?"
A devilish smirk spread across his face. You couldn't help but blush. Donnie grabbed your hand and took you to a corner of his lab. He moved a panel and opened up a passageway. "I used to sneak out and get parts for my stuff this way," he explained, pulling you through the tight corridor.
As you were nearing the end of the tunnel, Donnie covered your eyes with his hands. You blushed "Donnie! Im gonna trip" you complained. Donnie chuckled at you "ill catch you, just walk a little further, watch your step" he coaxed, his voice low.
Donnie uncovered your eyes. You had to blink a few times to get used to the bright lights. Once you had your vision back, you looked at the go-Kart like thing in front of you. "Don? What's this?"
"This, Dear (Y/N) is how we're getting to our true destination." you gave Donnie a look, but you complied. He handed you a helmet, and you put it on as you got into the seat of the go-Kart.
"Hold on tight" Donnie teased as he turned the key to the ignition. You wrapped your arms around him, holding on tight. Of course Donnie blushed. And with a loud rev of the engine, you were off.

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
