《The Fun Nerd || rottmnt Donnie x Reader》Chapter 20

"Donnie that's enough!" You scold, as Donnie was about to get his fourth cup of coffee. He looks over at you like a deer in headlights, having already started pouring coffee into his mug.
Slowly, he put the kettle back. Then you see him glance down at the filled mug. "Donnie, don't do it." You say, pointing at him.
He stares at you and you stand up from your seat, neglecting your breakfast. "No." You say in a warning tone. Donnie regarded you and the mug of coffee for a few more seconds, before he quickly raised the cup to his mouth and started scarfing it down.
You race over to him and try to take the mug from him. "Donnie stop it!"
You can see his smile, even beneath the mug. Donnie raises the mug above his head and tries his best not to laugh as he swallows the coffee. Once he was in the clear, he began to laugh and watched you helplessly swipe for the mug, which was now empty.
"Ok, ok! Here!" He laughs, handing you the mug.
You frown at him, showing your disappointment. Donnie's smile doesn't falter, instead he coos at you, cupping your face in his hands. "Don't frown so much, it causes wrinkles." He was clearly messing with you, trying to get on your nerves.
As you stare him down, there's a knock at the door, taking your attention away from Donnie. "That must be April." You say.
Donnie watches in dismay as you wiggle away from him and rush around, slipping on your shoes and swinging your backpack over your shoulder. As you head for the door, you glance at Donnie. "You coming?"
Donnie pats himself down, making sure he has everything. "Yeah, just let me get my hoodie on." Donnie slipped on his big purple hoodie and pulled the hood over his head in a quick motion. It seemed like a disguise that could never logically work, but in New York, nobody seemed to notice... Or they just didn't care. Same difference really.
When you opened the door, you expected only April to be on the other end greeting you, but to your surprise, Leo was beside her.
He scrolled through his phone, a big smirk on his face. It made your heart skip and your face tingle, but you were acutely aware you were blushing as you stared at him.
"Hey, little missy!" April said with a nervous smile. You smile back, recalling what had happened yesterday. "Hey." You awkwardly reply.
Upon hearing your voice, Leo's head shot up, and his smile only grew. "Hey, princess." His flirtatious tone is evident. A charmed smile makes its way on your face.
Donnie carefully nudges you out the door as he shuffles behind you and shuts it.
Leo pops his hood up and glances at the door, his smile dropping. "You lock it?" His question was directed at Donnie. Donnie nods, his usual melancholy expression now on his face.
"Good." Leo says, his wry expression too apparent to miss. Leo soon faces you again and smiles, pushing aside his worries in favor of you. "Let's get going then!" Leo says with enthusiasm, taking your hand and gesturing for you to walk with him, which you happily do.
-------
As the four of you started walking towards the High School, Donnie once again lagged behind.
He listened to the happy conversation you, Leo, and April were having, but his eyes were only looking at one thing; your and Leo's linked hands.

Like he had done before, Donnie began scolding himself inside and questioning why he couldn't just be loving and happy with you when others were around, like Leo. Was he embarrassed? Did he not want to damage his pride or his reputation as the cold, calculated-genius? He couldn't be sure himself.
At one point, Leo glanced back at his brother and saw how intently he was staring, along with his expression, looking like he was in a deep amount of stress.
Leo frowns a bit, he feels bad for his brother, but decides to give him some space. Leo didn't know what other advice or encouragement to give his brother that he hadn't already given, plus he had to work to win your affections as well. Leo knew he couldn't hold Donnie's hand forever, there's a point where both had to make their own decisions.
-----
As the four of you finally arrived at the school, you all congregated at the entrance.
You smile up at the boys. "If you want, you two can come get me later if nothing comes up." You say with a big smile. Leo grins wide as can be. "'Course! I know I'll be here."
Donnie gives Leo a flabbergasted look. Leo raises his arms in a defensive way, "What? Even if something comes up- you owe me for distracting the police- I almost died!"
You gasp and look up at Leo with worried eyes. "What happened?"
Donnie groans and explains. "When I was getting the materials for your flowers, some cops showed up. I would've been caught if it weren't for 'Hero-boy'." Donnie's tone was nonchalant and he started scrolling on his phone as soon as he was done talking. Leo frowns, not enjoying having his amazing sacrifice downplayed so much.
With a sigh, Leo shakes off his sour mood and smiles warmly at you. "I'll tell you the real story later." He winks. You quietly laugh and shuffle closer to April, as if to hide, he had made you flustered again. This amused Leo as he continued to look at you with a besotted expression; however, the loud screech of a bell makes him jump.
April and you laugh at Leo's reaction, sadly though, it had to be cut short.
"C'mon, (Y/n)." April says with a smile as she tugs on your backpack.
"Just a second." You say. "Wait for me at the stairs." You direct her.
April quirks a brow, before her eyes go wide and a smirk crosses her face. She winks and jaunts away, glancing back curiously a few times.
You turn to Donnie and envelope him in a hug. "Have a good day, I'll see you soon, m'kay?" You let him go and look up at him. He awkwardly smiles and nods, biting his lip as if to restrain himself from drowning you in kisses.
You chuckle and shift to Leo, giving him a hug just as big as the one you'd given Donnie. "See you later?" You ask, with a face growing pinker by the second. Leo grins, "Unless you don't want to, princess." He jests.
You haltingly laugh, as you part ways with him, and start backing towards the school entrance.
As you turn around and are prepared to walk inside, you hear Donnie call after you. "W-Wait."
Caught off-guard, you turn and are met with Donnie grabbing your arm. He huffs with a defeated frown, and pulls you in, kissing your cheek.
A small gasp escapes you as Donnie presses his lips against your cheek. You stammer, not finding the words, feeling that his lips were nearly against yours with the angle he was at. He doesn't seem to catch on though, as his brows furrow a bit. "You squeal, I'm outta here." He mumbles.

You close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, "I'm not saying anything." You squeak in a joyous tone.
In the distance, Leo gasps. "Wait, how many steps ahead of me are you!?" His call of dismay directed at Donnie could be heard blocks away. Leo ran up to you and waited till his brother pulled away.
Donnie's face was flustered, filled with embarrassment, and a hint of vexation. "I'll be going now, I need to be somewhere that doesn't reek of body odor." He quickly says, turning red.
Donnie quickly turns and dashes in the opposite direction, his shoulders slumped.
"This is New York! You won't find that!!" Leo calls out, poking fun. You can hear Donnie's frustrated groans in the distance.
Once his brother is out of sight, Leo turns to you with a smirk and half-lidded eyes. "If he gets to give you kisses, so do I."
You gasp with a huge grin. You had to resist the awe that threatened to spill out of you as he gently kisses your cheek. You face tingles as you smile brightly.
When Leo pulls away, his face is bright red, blending in with the red stripes on his face.
"That was nice." He says cupping a hand over his mouth shyly.
You nod and slowly back towards the door, I wiry smile stuck to your face. "Mhm. U-Um.. See you later, Leo." Your face was bright like a bulb. "Yeah, see ya'." Leo murmurs.
Now Leo's giving you kisses too. 'April is going to lose her mind.' You think to yourself as you zip inside, leaving Leo to stare after you with a doofy grin on his face.
When you enter the school, a joyous laugh cuts through the chatter from students.
April, comes out of nowhere and jostles you around in a hug. "I saw it all!" She yaps, a radiant smile on her face. You struggle to breathe, she was far stronger than she looked, but you didn't protest. It was relieving for the awkward tension to finally be pushed aside.
When April lets you go, the two of you immediately get to talking. Girl chatter was never skipped over when the two of you were together. What had happened the previous day had been completely forgotten as the two of you basked in being simple teens
-------------------
Schools out!
You race past the flood of students towards the front doors. You didn't even think to wait for April, you were just excited to hang out with the boys.
However, as you were about to push one of the doors open, a hand grips your wrist. A familiar hand. The large scar along the pinky finger- down to the wrist- sent a chill down your back.
"Hello, gorgeous!"
You whip around, wide eyed. It was him. Damien.
He was dressed casually, a backpack swung over his shoulder.
"Damien..? But.. you don't attend this school-" Your voice was shrill, but Damien cut you off. "I'm not here for school, I'm here to get you." He says, matter-of-factly. You squeak in fear as you try to pull away. Damien stares daggers at you as his grip tightens, "We've been apart for long enough. It's about time you forgive me and get off of that high horse."
You looked around for help, but the floods of students seemed oblivious to the predicament you were in. Damien pulls you in and stares at you as if he was preparing to chop your head off. "I saw those boys, and I never want to see them around you again. They're tainting your perfect skin." He states, using his free hand to stroke your face. It made you coil in disgust.
"How dare you touch me, after what you did- after everything you did!" You utter in a detested tone.
His face twists in shock and offence as he leans in. "Not so loud, you wouldn't want to cause a scene, now would you?"
You scoff. "What are you doing here, Damien." You stare into his soul, not wavered a bit by his obvious advantage over you. Damien didn't seem to care as a wild smile spread across his face. "I couldn't stay away."
He reaches over and takes your other wrist. "Let's go home." He whispers.
Your heart sinks and you feel your knees shake. "No." You mutter.
Damien happily hums, sinister intent behind it. As he starts to pull you with him in the opposite direction of the front doors, you realize you had to do something.
"Damien!" You shout. He freezes in his tracks, and several students pause to see what was going on. You shake his grip away, and stand your ground. Students start to continue out the doors, but you could feel their curious eyes still glued to you.
Damien glares at you. He was very angry that this wasn't going to work. He walks up to you and leans in, his face inches away from yours. "I was hoping we could have a diplomatic approach to all this (Y/n), before it's too late. It seems that's not an option though." He affirms in a hushed voice.
You sneer and do something you'd likely come to regret later. In a swift second, you spit in his face. Damien gasps and reels back, aggressively wiping his face. "Are you kidding me? That is disgusting!" A few straggling students laugh, making you feel a bit protected knowing people were watching. "Leave me alone." You demand.
Damien huffs, then his brows furrow. "You little-" He rushes forward and grabs the hem of your shirt. He opens his mouth to say something again- likely to give you a piece of his mind; however, everyone went quiet when someone came up and grabbed him by his shirt. His grip on your shirt gave way and you watched as he was lifted up.
"" face filled with fear, and you realized it was none other than Donnie who was holding him. He looked pissed as he held Damien by the collar.
You feel a hand take you to your other side. You look over and see Leo, who looked just as angry- if not more.
Both brothers had their hoods up and were ready to batter this jerk.
Donnie's eyes pierced through Damien, he had never felt so angry. But the sight of him handling you with aggression, made Donnie furious. After a second, Donnie could've sworn he saw Damien begin to smirk, and that was all Donnie needed to let all his pent-up anger out. In a quick motion, Donnie slams Damien to the floor.
Damien's eyes went wide and he gasped as the wind got knocked out of him. He shakily propped himself on his elbows, and hissed in pain.
Leo kneeled down to his level. "When are you gonna learn to leave her alone." It was less of a question and more of a warning. Leo had no issues with what Donnie had done, he would've done the same if he had gotten ahold of Damien first.
There was dead silence in the building as teens gathered around the scene.
Donnie leans down and pulls Damien back up. Damien dangled off the floor once more as Donnie pulled him nice and close. "You're lucky we're not alone, I know quite a few beasts who'd love to make you into décor for their dens. If you don't want that, you should really leave her alone." Donnie said in such a hushed voice that no one else could hear except for Damien.
"Freak, you're not fit for her. She'll never really love you like she loves me." Damien spits back.
Donnie had to hold back his temper as he stared at Damien. "She doesn't love you." Donnie coldly states.
Damien chortles. "Yes she does, you've just brainwashed her. She's too scared to leave you guys. I mean, why would a little lady like her feel safe around freaks like you?" His tone was taunting, it made Donnie's blood boil.
