《The Mafia's Stolen Daughter》20

Sharp pain is all I felt.
My sister shot me in the foot but I knew she had to, and this was the least harmful place for her to shoot me. Especially because she probably never used a gun before.
This wasn't the first time I was shot. When we were still in Italy, someone broke into our house and shot my shoulder as I tried to get away. Mama immediately took the bullet out and stopped the bleeding. I tried to remember what she did and got the bullet out. I then rip part of my dress to tie it around the wound.
2 shots are fired and I immediately look up.
She killed the two guards.
Who is this girl?
So brave, strong and full of surprises.
And she's only 16.
But then she points the gun at Sergei.
What is she waiting for? Kill him!
But then I look closer and see her pull the trigger, but no bullets come out. Next thing I know he's laughing hysterically and has a gun pointed at her. Val listens to his words and puts the gun down. As they walk out she turns around and I whisper a small "Ti amo."
Then Sergei knocks her out with then gun and walks away with Valentina in his arms. I grab onto the table and pull myself up. I immediately limp over to the dead guards and take their guns. One in each hand.
I slap Lorenzo in the face and his eyes shoot open.
"What the fûck!"
"He took Valentina. Get up and help me brother," I replied.
"Who did that to you?" he says looking at my foot.
"I can tell you later. Now stop wasting time!" I order, latching onto his arm for support.

I pass him the other gun and we turn the corner and come across 4 men charging us. We shoot them in their heads since they most likely have bullet proof vests on. My dad has taught me and Lorenzo how to protect ourselves, especially being who he is. I would never go down that road, but it was important that I kept myself alive and safe.
I keep on limping through this hallway, trying to find Sergei and Valentina but we can't find them.
"What the hell," I mutter under my breath.
We continue to search but still find no exits anywhere. Suddenly, all gunshots stop and we are in the center of a dead bodies. Everyone then points their guns at us aiming to kill.
"Hold your fire!" a man screams.
Everyone stops what they are doing, lowering their arms.
"Marina? Lorenzo?" our dad questions, taking his mask off.
We smile and nod our heads, speechless.
They found us.
But they were too late.
Sergei took our sister before they could get to us. Dad hugs us and then asks "Where is Valentina? And who shot you?"
"That stupid bastard took my sister!"
"Language, Marina! Now what do you mean he took her? We killed everyone here and Feliciano was supposed to find you three with Damon!" Dad reasons.
"They never came and Sharapov knocked out Lorenzo, then made Val shoot my foot before taking her away! She tried to shoot him but there were no more bullets!" I exclaim.
Dad's jaw ticks in annoyance and anger. "George, take these two. Half of you sweep this entire place, get rid of any German, Russians or Ukrainians you see. The other half sweep the outside area and look for our fallen, NOW!"

Everyone starts scrambling around and George comes up to us and shows us in the direction of the jet. He was around 25, with short brown hair and light hazel eyes. From what I've heard he's dad's third in command. He doesn't seem to talk either.
As we pass by the dead bodies I see someone familiar.
Matteo, with a gunshot wound
through his heart.
"M-Matteo?" I cry, falling to the ground next to him.
"Babe, wake up... p-please ," I whisper.
But he doesn't.
He wasn't breathing.
"I love you, Matteo. I love you so much. You weren't supposed to leave me. We were going to move back to Italy, remember? And grow old together! Wake up. Wake up. God, save him... my love..." I cried as Lorenzo held me close.
But he never woke up...

The Final Test
Earth was overtaken by the Calumnia ten years ago and if it weren't for the alien Occisio race who saved the remnants of humanity, Indi's race would have gone extinct. Now, at the age of sixteen, Indi and the other surviving children are about to complete their training and return to Earth to kill the monster that destroyed their world and killed their parents. However, the children on the Occisio's spaceship have been dismissed one by one in training tests and only a few of them remain. Will Indi prove himself skilled enough to become a soldier? Or will he fail humanity as his parents did? This short story (in 13 parts) is a love letter to fans of Ender's Game and Maze Runner. (I may eventually turn this into a novel but for now, I hope you enjoy this 10,000 word story about hope and overcoming one's weakness.) [This story will appear on other websites as well, such as Wattpad and Royal Road.]

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com! For what greater reason is there to exist if not to be remembered? People are special. People aren’t... Your actions in this life define how those left behind remember you. Once you die, you’re reborn and live on, if only for a time; The grander the actions in this life, the longer your second one becomes. Alon knows this better than anyone, and he will live in the minds and hearts of everyone in Krestelen longer than anyone that has come before. This Fog adds those unfortunate enough to be caught within it into the legions of Vacant roaming the empty streets of the city: A creature that has seemingly lost all reasoning and sanity, to wander around the streets crying into the palms of their hands as they beg for help, to be freed from their condition. This is the place that Alon, and the Gang led by his mentor Casian, shall steal the very source of what gives those in power—the rightfully ruling family, the Deramore's—their ability to live in luxury as those below in the Lower Tier struggles to survive.
