Miri knocks on the door and waits for a reply.
"Y/N, you can't stay in that room for the rest of your life! Get out now!" She crosses her arms and taps her foot against the floor in impatience. "I'll count to five and if you don't open the door I'm breaking it down, even if it means that i'll have to pay for it since this is MY HOUSE!!!"
"One."
There's no response.
"Two"
Still nothing.
"Three- Oh! To hell with this." Miri shoves the door with her shoulder, ignoring the pain, and it immediately swings open. She stumbles a little before gaining her balance and nearly falling onto the mountain of clothes on the floor.
"I see you still haven't learnt to count properly yet. It's supposed to be 1,2,3,4 and then 5." Your tone is dry.
Miri narrows her eyes at your form that is covered with the duvet. "I was never good at math, you know that."
"Hmmm..." You merely hum.
Miri examines the door for any permanent damage. Like this apartment could not get any more damaged than is already is. "I didn't know I was that strong." She smiles smugly.
"You know the lock was broken right? All you had to do was twist the door knob to open the door."
"Oh.." Her smile falls no longer feeling as strong or heroic for breaking into the room as she has felt only seconds ago. "Well, that doesn't matter because we're going out today!"
You groan and cover your face with the duvet but you're hidden away only for a second as the duvet is yanked away from your grip making you feel cold all of a sudden without the protection of the soft fabric covering you. "Miri.. I don't-"
"You don't want to. I know! That's all you've been telling me for the past 3 months," the bed whines as Miri sits herself down. "Y/N I'm not used to seeing you like. I know the Y/N who's constantly moving around working and running errands without a single complaint and not allowing exhaustion take over. What has got into you?"
"I don't know."
"Do you regret leaving Seoul?" Miri askes after a long pause, you notice her gentle tone.
"I don't.. know," You stare up at the white ceiling your eyes moving over the paint that is beginning to peel off. "I can't help but feel like I left something really important behind. I mean that job was a good one-"
"Somehow I don't think it's quitting the job that's bothering you." you frown at Miri's smiling face.

"What are you saying?" you ask curiosity getting the best of you.
"Ask yourself why you aren't happy when it was clearly your decision to leave in the first place." Your frown deepens at her words. She had a point. You had made the decision to leave Seoul because it seemed like the right thing to do at that point. You wanted to get away from Jungkook. The disgust in his eyes when he last saw you...
"Let's go out today.."
Miri's eyes widen. "I didn't hear you.. What did you say?"
You chuckle throwing a pillow at your best friend which hits her right in the face.
You stop to catch to your breath while your best friends continues walking not having realised your poor state.
"Miri! Can we stop?" The many bags you have in your had have been cutting into your fingers and you're starting to think that they'll cut your fingers right off. Miri had insisted on shopping because it was the "best solution" to all problems. Despite having disagreed with the statement you went along with it anyway.
"Oh! You must be tired," She finally turns around to acknowledge you and flashes her million dollar smile. "Let's get something to eat!" She loops her arm around yours and drags you along.
She takes you to a cafe that seems pretty popular given that there was just one vacant table to your luck. "This is actually a really popular cafe here... I think someone popular owns it, that's why."
You nod looking around the crowd in the cafe, you are surprised to spot quite a few foreigners among the locals. You draw in a long breath cherishing the familiar aroma of roasted coffee hanging in the air. Your eyes continues to roam around the space until it lands on a man moving skillfully from table to table. He has on a black apron and a bright smile as he serves the customers. Suddenly, you feel yourself smile as you are reminded of your own experience working at a cafe. It wasn't one of your finest memories especially since you'd got fired... because of Jungkook. The smile falls from your face at the thought of him.
"Okay.. I can see it in your eyes," Miri says breaking you away from your reverie. "Your mind in spinning again. I'm going to get us something. You need food, woman."
You blink as few times making sure that the stinging in your eyes isn't a signal of tears. Why the thought of Jungkook still bothered you was beyond your understanding. Could it have anything to do with the way he looked at you? Or maybe when he'd asked you to get away from him? Whatever it was, you were still hurt.

"Here you go!" Miri places a tray of so many things before you that you have to look closely to identify one from the other.
"You do realise we're just two people right?"
You question causes she to snort, "And since when have you ever had trouble eating enough for 3 people?" She arks her eyebrows at you.
You grab a chocolate muffin and bite a big piece off. The minute you close your mouth it immediately starts salivating going weak for the warm and comforting taste of chocolate. "Hmmm..." You moan with pleasure.
"You might want to keep it down. People are looking at us," Miri whispers lowering he head.
You look around and sure enough the two men seated at the table next to yours are giving you a questionable look. You hurriedly avert your eye as you feel your face redden in embarrassment. "I'll be right back." You say to Miri and quickly stand up.
"W-here ah oo oing?" She asks you with a mouthful of muffin but you ignore her and move towards a kind looking lady dressed in the same black apron as the worker you saw before.
"Excuse me," You try to grab her attention.
The lady turns around and for a moment you stare at her baffled forgetting everything. She looks so familiar yet you know for a fact that you've never met her before. Her eyes are small yet hold the warmest gaze you've ever seen. As she smiles at you her eyes turn to two happy crescents. Your heart given a painful twist but don't understand why.
"Can I help you, darling?"
"I-um.." You stammer suddenly having forgotten why you wanted to talk to her in the first place when you spot the notice on the cashier's table you remember. "I wanted to ask about that notice." You point as the notice not too far away from you.
The lady's smile glows brighter as she clasps her hands together. "Omo! Are you looking for a job?"
You nod.
"Oh! You couldn't have come at a better time," she reaches for your hand and holds it in both of hers. You immediately notice the warmth and melt into her warm gesture. "As you can see Minho is the only helper we have and the tourist are beginning to come in making it very busy. We really need as much help as we can get."
You turn around to look at the man she called Minho and despite his smiling face you can see that he's struggling. "When can I start?"
"The sooner the better."
"I'll see you tomorrow then." You smile at her as she gives your hand a reassuring squeeze. You return to Miri to see only Muffin crumbs. She gives you a tight lipped smile, "I'm sorry. I didn't realise I ate it all until it was all gone."
"Well while you were devouring all the muffins I got myself a job." You smile proudly at your friend who's staring at you with her mouth agape.
"Seriously? You're kidding aren't you?"
"Why would I joke about getting a job?"
"I missed you so much!" You stand startled as she embraces you.
"Miri, I'm right here." You pat her back awkwardly.
"I was so worried for you. You had done nothing but sit in your room for so long that I'd forgotten what you look like when you get down to business. Being lazy doesn't suit you. I was so sacred.. I thought I lost my best friend and couldn't get her back."
"Hey," You hold her by the shoulder and see the tears forming in her eyes. "I'm sorry for doing that to you. But thank you so much for putting up with me."
She sniffs wiping her eyes with the back of hand and you hold a tissue to her. "You know I love you right, Y/N?"
"Of course, if the way you've treated me for the past few months doesn't prove it I don't know what will." You give her a reassuring smile. "I would've suggested that we celebrate with Ice cream but I think you've had enough sugar for a few days."
"Excuse me?" You jump at the low voice speaking. When you turn around you're faced with the handsome waiter from before. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you but I was told to give you this." He holds out a black apron which you take from him noticing how his eyes don't leave your face.
"Thank you."
"I'm Minho, by the way. Song Minho. I guess we'll be working together." He flashes his perfect Colgate smile.
"Oh yes.. I'm Kang Y/N."
"I'll see you tomorrow." He bows politely and gets back to work.
"Wow.. he's hot." You squeeze your eyes shut squirming at how blunt Miri can be sometimes.
"And he likes you."
"Stop right there!" You hold up your hand in warning.
"Whyyyy??"
"I think I've had enough of boys for a while."

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
