《Mr. Boss | ✓》XXVI

You're walking down the street with Jungkook beside you. Turning your head to the side you look up to see him in a white t shirt and basketball shorts. Even though he hadn't intended to stay over, luckily for him he had his gym bag and hence his gym clothes in his car to change into. You had to admit he looked good in the casual, laid back attire.
He glances to look at you every now and then, itching to ask you where you were taking him. Maybe telling him you were taking him to some place "special" hadn't been a good idea, it only made him more curious. As you left the house he'd offered to carrying the basket you had been carrying. Even though you had declined the kind gesture he'd grabbed it from you and and walked on before realising he didn't know which way to go.
The sun is bright this time in the morning yet not harsh, warm enough to be just right. The birds sing perched on tree tops. You draw in a deep breath cherishing as the clean air fills your lungs and instantly makes you feel more relaxed than you already are. You are almost surprised to not hear the deafening cacophony of traffic or the loud chatter of people. The tranquil silence would've been unsettling if not for it's familiarity.
After a few turns you come to stand before a river. Turning to Jungkook you see his eyes widen with recognition.
"Do you want to sit?" He merely nods eyes still fixed on the slow moving water.
You pull a blanket from the basket and spread it out. One by one you pull out the food you'd packed from home and lay them out too. When Jungkook finally looks away from the water towards you his eyes widen to form his characteristic look of surprise.
"Where did all this come from?"
"Magic." You imitate exploding fireworks with your fingers but he looks unconvinced. "I packed these from the house- and by packed I mean stole from the table and stuffed them into this basket. I really wanted to bring you here, and you haven't had any breakfast. Two birds with out stone."
"Very smart.. Is this supposed to be a picnic?" He smiles sitting down next to you while eyeing the food.
"Sure.. or it can be a tea party with the queen. It can be anything your imagination wants it to be."

"Like a date?"
You stop to look at his playful smirk the smile melting away from your face, "Go ahead and ruin a perfectly normal moment."
"'Ruin a perfectly normal moment'? Come on, you don't think going on a date with me would be normal?" He asks eagerly, scrutinizing your body language for any sign.
"Hell no!" Your nose scrunches up.
"So tell me, you wouldn't date me even if I was the last human alive?" His eyes sparkle under the morning sun.
"Technically, I wouldn't exist if you were the last human alive. So.. no."
You burst out laughing at his dumbfounded look but at the same time you're glad to have dodged the question. Would you though, date him? Shaking your head you try to lose the irrational thought.
"Now eat up or else all that stealing will be in vain."
He picks up a sandwich and begins to munch on it. "Miri.. You two seem very close. Is she a childhood friend?"
You stop chewing, the food pushing to one side of your cheek, a little taken aback by his interest. "Don't try any of your games. She's not your type. But mainly because she's my friend."
"Hey hey.. easy there," he holds his hands up in faux surrender. "I'm not going to try any of my games. What games are you talking about anyway?" He says in a mock imitation of your voice while using air quotes.
"Nevermind." You mutter stuffing more food into your mouth so you don't have to answer.
"I just wanted to know more about you.. your childhood.. your life here." His voice softens and he looks down at the half eaten sandwich in his hand. You stop chewing as the guilt rising up makes it difficult to swallow.
"She's been my friend for as long as I remember, even before Sunghyun and he and I have known each other since we were 5. Actually, it was thanks to her that I met him. As kids she had the biggest crush on him" You chuckle at the thought.
"Does she live here?"
"No, actually she lives in Busan. Maybe the timing was just perfect for her to be in the town at the same time as us."
"I don't really see a lot of young people around here."

"That's because there aren't many in this part. They all leave to work in the bigger cities." You sigh.
Just then his phone begins to ring, looking down at the screen that flashes a name he swears.
"Hello?" He stands and walks off a little distance away. You watch as the brightness you'd seen in him dims with each passing minute. His chest expands and then contracts as he lets out a sigh.
"It was Jimin Hyung. I forgot to inform the company that I was going out of town-" He then looks away from you.
"Jeon Jungkook, you're going to be in a lot of trouble! You didn't tell them where you were going? You've been away for a whole day! They'd think you'd got kidnapped." You spring up to your feet.
"Don't worry about that. Jiminie Hyung has been covering up for me. He's probably made up another crazy yet convincing story." You see his lips tug upwards into a genuine smile.
"He takes good care of you, doesn't he?" You ask smiling at the thought of Jimin.
"All the time. Sometimes I don't understand how he's so considerate of others. He doesn't have to try, it comes naturally to him. I wish I could a good person like him." You think about Jungkook driving you all the way here just so you could spend sometime with your grandma, how you never asked him to do it but he did it anyway.
You are a good person, Jungkook.. an amazing one.
"The fact that you just said that goes to show just how much you love him, which is just as amazing."
"He's my family. I do anything for him." He smiles looking down at his hands. "I have to go back. But you should stay a few more days."
"I'm coming with you." You walk up to him. "All I wanted to was see how Grandma was doing and now I've done that all thanks to you. Thank you so much." You step closer to him and standing on your tip toes you place a kiss on his cheek.
Jungkook leans against his car waiting for you to come. There's just one memory replaying in his mind.
Your soft lips on his cheek.
He reaches a hand and touches the spot on his cheek smiling to himself.
He looks down the street imagining living in the neighbourhood. He'd love to leave behind his chaotic life, even if it was just for a few days, to be embrace by the tranquility of the country. But he also knows that the silence would drive him crazy. He'd miss the excitement he feels every time his speakers blare music, the loud hurried instructions of the staff and mostly the laughter of the members.
He straightens immediately as he sees Y/N walking towards him with her Grandma. She's carrying large plastic containers one stacked on top of the other. Jungkook quickly moves forward to take them from her.
"What are these?" He asks curiously.
"Snacks." She flashes him a bright smile. "Granny had prepared some homemade snacks. I can't say no."
"Y/N, there are a few more containers inside don't forget to take them too." Her Grandma calls out.
"I'll be back."
"Wait.. I'll help you-" Jungkook stops as he feels a hand tighten around his wrist. He turns around to see your grandma.
"I can say that you're very special to my granddaughter." He can only blink at her words. "She's all I got, young man. She's very dear to me. So you better take good care of her." She smiles as she says the last few words, her eyes crinkling.
"Y-yes, I will." He bows low.
"You're a good man. Don't let me down, now." Her smile deepens.
Only yesterday Jungkook had thought she was the most intimidating person he'd ever met, but now that he was looking at her smiling face he couldn't help but think he was wrong.
"This is the last of it." Y/N appears with three more containers, he reaches forward to take them from her and put them with the rest.
As he drives back to Seoul, with you seated next to him staring out into the streets, your grandma's words ring continuously in his mind. He feels a sense of responsibility. Responsibility to take care of you, make sure you're happy..

His Unwanted Bride (BWWM) √

And by the lighter side, I mean lighter side of the scale and skin color. #1Bwwm#2InterracialBook 1 of the Unwanted SeriesPS: There are typos in this work, mostly because autocorrect always puts in the most ridiculous wrong things and I always miss despite reading them before posting, until I have posted and read over and over again. There's also the issue of timelines that don't add up and wrong names. I'm currently editing it in a new document. I hope it will be better.FP: 2017C:2019
