Vanraj was fuming in anger after the insults Anupama hurled at him when Kavya entered.

Kavya :- V....I need your approval on this plan....

Vanraj was still lost somewhere.

Kavya:- V.....

Kavya snapped her fingers before him.

Vanraj came out of his thoughts.

Vanraj (in anger) :- Kavya tum yha kya krr rhi ho...aur knock krke nhi aa skti...

He yellled at her...

Kavya :- V maine knock kiya tha...tumne suna hi nhi....aur yeh office h....please keep your voice down...

Vanraj took a deep breath trying to calm himself...

Vanraj :- Sorry wo mera dhyaan nhi tha....

Kavya :- To kha tha....aur tum itna gusse me kyu ho V...aab kya hua h?

Vanraj :- Hua nhi hone wala hai.....mera jeena haram kar diya hai is aurat ne...

Kavya:- Kisne....?

She asked curiously...

Vanraj :- Are yeh Anupama....aur kaun...maharani is company me internship karne aa rhi hai...bloody gawar...

Kavya :- Whatt ???

Kavya was shocked....

Kavya :- Us ganwar ko kisne intern rkkhaa.....aur kaise?

Vanraj :- Shayad tum janti nhi ho.....pakhi bta rhi thi ki usne MBA me admission le liya hai....madam aab nachne ke sath sath padhai bhi kar rhi hai....

Kavya :- Aur yeh tum mujhe abhi bta rhe ho ?

Vanraj :- To kb btata....aur bta bhi deta to tum kya kar leti....

Kavya :- Whatever.....

Vanraj :- Madam ko naukri krne ka bahut shauk hai na.....dikhata hu unhe naukri kaise ki jaati hai....

Saying this he goes to his table and picks up the phone....

Vanraj (to his secretary) :- Please send Mr. Mishra from the HR department to my office.

Kavya :- Aab tum HR manager ko kyu bula rhe ho.....V please kuch aisa waisa na Krna jisse hmari job effect ho....

Vanraj :-Patience..Kavya..patience

A knock on the door.....

Vanraj :- Come in...

Mr. Mishra came in...

Mr. Mishra :- Sir aapne bulaya....

Vanraj :- Haan Mishra jii....aapne aaj kuch interns hire kiye h marketing department me....

Mr. Mishra :- Sir sirf ek hi hire kiya hai....a lady named Anupama Joshi....hmare baaki interns se kaafi different hai...but seems to be pretty talented...

Vanraj :- Please assign her to our marketing team....hme aise talented logo ki kaafi zruarat hai...

Vanraj said with a smirk on his face.

Mr. Mishra :- But sir....I have already assigned her to a different team...

Vanraj :- Mr Mishra....I completely understand....but hmare marketing department me kaafi workload hai...and we need interns...can you please look into it?

Mr. Mishra :- okay sir...mai use reassign krta hoo...

Vanraj :- Thank you mishra ji...you can go....

All this time Kavya was looking at Vanraj perplexed.

As soon as Mr. Mishra left, Kavya shot....

Kavya :- V.....yeh tumne kya kiya...aab mujhe us ganwar ke sath kaam Krna pdega....you know I hate her....get this straight V....mai us behenji ke sath kaam nhi kar rhi.....

Vanraj :- Calm down Kavya...calm down...

Kavya :- Kya calm down...

She yelled.......

Vanraj :- Maine kb kha tumhe uske sath kaam krna hai....tumhe bas uska jeena hraam Krna hai.....

Hearing this Kavya realised Vanraj's plan....

Vanraj :- Make sure....tumahre under kaam krne ke baad...wo khi aur kaam krne layak na rhe....

Kavya had an evil grin on her face....

It has been two weeks since Anupama joined the internship and it had been a disaster.

When she learned she would be working under Kavya,she wasn't surprised. She had it coming. She knew that Vanraj wouldn't make her life easier in office but she didn't realise her learning experience will turn into a nightmare.

She was not included in any meetings. Her ideas were shot down by Kavya as soon as she brought them up. Forget about learning something knew....she was belittled by Kavya at every turn and at everything she tried to do. The other members of the team sympathised with her but couldn't do anything as Kavya was their boss. She couldn't go to HR complaining about it because it would make her look weak plus no one cares about a summer intern.

She wanted to share all this with Devika but she realised Devika can't do anything about it plus...if she comes to know that Kavya has been treating her with disrespect.....she would probably start a fight with her that Anupama didn't want to be a part of. Her life was already too complicated to start with...so...she decided not to tell her that Vanraj and Kavya work in the same office.

She knew she is not going to learn anything from Kavya and wouldn't have anything to show for in her report when she goes back to college.

One more strike and I am out, she thought to herself.

She was done with the daily insults and decided to confront Kavya if she again tries to belittle her.

She sat in a conference room with the other members of the marketing team silently listening to the presentation given by Kavya on the future marketing plan when she realised there is a huge gap in the plan that would cost them more than required. She had an alternative in mind but wasn't sure how it would play out with Kavya.

Kavya finished with her presentation....

Kavya :- So any questions or suggestions....

Everyone nodded and said that the plan is perfect but Anupama had a better alternative.....

So she raised her hand....

Anupama :- Mam, can I suggest something ?

Kavya was irked....

Kavya:- Anupama this is marketing....not theple belne ka competition....you are just an intern....be grateful I included you in the meeting...

Anupama :- But mam....

Kavya :- Enough....the meeting is over...you guys can leave...

Anupama was shot down again.

Everyone looked at her with pity in their eyes. She hated that look. It made her feel like the old Anupama who was always a damsel in distress.

She decided that enough is enough. She walked upto Kavya and confronted her after everyone left.....

Anupama :- Kavya, I have a better alternative....

Kavya :- It's Mam for you...not Kavya...

Anupama was disgusted but she tried again.....

Anupama :- Mam I have a better alternative to this plan that will cost less over......

Kavya interrupted....

Kavya :- Anupama aab tum mujhe sikhaogi ki mujhe kya karna chaiye.....

She roared....

The door to the conference room was open and everyone in the office started gathering at the scene.

Both Anupama and Kavya didn't realise it.

Anupama tried to reason calmly....

Anupama :- Mam I am just trying to suggest something....can you please listen before dismissing it?

Kavya :- Dismissing it.....be grateful you are in a room with me....I have been nothing but lenient towards you....

Kavya yelled......

Her voice could be heard in the entire office.

Hearing this, a crowd had gathered at the door of the room.

Vikram, who has come down to 28th floor today to review some department, heard some voices and saw the large crowd gathered.....

He asked one of the employees what's going on....

Surprised to see the CEO standing in front of her, the lady blabbed everything that there is an intern who is not being treated well by Kavya....

Hearing this Vikram, he moved towards the door and everyone stood aside seeing him.....

The sight he saw shocked him.....

Standing there was Anupama Joshi.....his former classmate....his best friend's love....trying to reason with Kavya...

Anupama :- Mam you haven't included me in any of the meetings....have shot down my suggestions without even listening to them....belittled me in front of everyone...I haven't learned anything from you in two weeks other than how to hurl insults at people....and you are asking me to be grateful....

Anupama said in a calm voice trying not to create a scene.

Kavya was irked to the core....she yelled again.....

Kavya :- Suggestions what suggestions huh.....you are 45 year old woman with no experience with a 23 year gap in your education....the only thing you can suggest is how to roll theplas....

Vikram was numb. He didn't know how to react....whether he should be surprised or shocked that Anupama....who he used to call bhabhi in college teasing Anuj....is now working with the AK Group......when Kavya's voice brought him to the present.

He couldn't see his friend's love being insulted in front of everyone. He straight away wanted to go and fire Kavya for insulting Anupama but that would just make things worse. Anupama didn't know him plus it was his office and he couldn't have acted out of personal reasons.

He was about to step in when Anupama spoke.....

Anupama :- That's enough....I am leaving....I don't need to learn from someone who don't have basic etiquettes to treat her employees....

Anupama said with a calm voice and turned to walk away.....

Kavya roared without noticing Vikram there....

Kavya :- Yes please leave.....we don't need interns for rolling theplas.....bloody anpadh gawar....

Vikram yelled and entered the room.

Kavya went blank seeing him in front of her. She came to realise that she has been yelling at the top of her voice all this time and Vikram had heard her. She didn't know how to react. She knew she was in the wrong and have no explanation for her behaviour.

Vikram moved past Anupama and stood in front of Kavya.

Vikram :- Is this how you treat your subordinates Miss....?

Vikram did not know her name.

Kavya :- Mrs Kavya Shah...

Kavya bit her tongue realising she might have infuriated him more by the correction.

Vikram :- Mrs Shah....so answer me...is this the way to treat your subordinates?

Kavya stood silent not knowing what to say....

Vikram :- Answer me.....

He asked again....

Kavya :- Sir she was trying to insult me....and I am the marketing head....she is just an intern.....

Kavya tried to form a sentence....

Vikram :- From where I stood...you were the one yelling at her and insulting her while she was trying to be calm and reasonable....

Kavya had no explanation. Vikram has heard the entire conversation.

Kavya:- Sir but she is very annoying......she always has so many questions...she always wants to share her views about everything....she is just an intern....not the head of the company.....that she wanna know everything or share her opinions everytime....

Vikram was baffled at Kavya's reasoning.

Vikram :- Mrs Shah, are you sure you are an MBA graduate ?

Kavya :- Yes sir I am....

Vikram :- Ohh see I was confused.....from where I graduated I learned that internship is all about being keen on learning...sharing your views and opinions....making suggestions....trying to learn from superiors....but you just said an intern shouldn't be doing that....so were you taught some other definition of internship?...if so will you please enlighten us on it....?

Anupama was standing on the side listening to all this. Her face was blank but her heart was full seeing Kavya get what she deserved.

Kavya's heart was racing. She created a mess for herself just to satisfy her and Vanraj's ego

Still she didn't give up....

Kavya :- sir but her ideas are always stupid....

Vikram tried to keep his calm....

Vikram :- Mrs Shah even if they were.....which I am sure is not the case....this is not how you treat an employee....there are some work ethics in our company that you should have followed...

Kavya was about to speak when Vikram continued....

Vikram :- Looking at how have you been behaving for the past few minutes....I am sure...you haven't even heard any of her ideas....so please call your marketing team....and we will have a meeting of our own...

Saying this he turned towards Anupama trying not to give up the fact that he knew her....

Vikram :- Ms Joshi please take a seat.....

Anupama had no idea what was going on but decided to stay while Kavya gestured his marketing team standing at the door to come in.

Everyone came in and Vikram asked them to take a seat.

Vikram :- Mrs Shah....please can you present us your marketing plan that you and Anupama have been talking about when I entered....

Kavya gulped and stood up from her seat to load the presentation. Her fingers were trembling in anticipation of what's going to happen.

Vikram could see her nervousness....

Vikram :- Please don't be nervous Mrs Shah it's just a presentation....

Kavya started with her presentation and everyone was keenly listening to her especially Vikram....

Kavya :- That's the marketing plan for our project....

Saying this she wrapped up...

Vikram :- Okay so any suggestions or questions from anyone...

Everyone nodded in negative.

Vikram turned towards Anupama.

Vikram :- Ms Joshi?.....would you like to suggest something?

Anupama was nervous but she knew she was given a chance and she better make most of it.

She hesitantly stood up from his seat and spoke....

Anupama :- Sir....I might have an alternative that might reduce some cost on the project and provide some better results...but I don't know if it's feasible or not....

She said not sounding sure of herself....

Vikram :- It's okay Ms Joshi...go on...we are here to learn...

Everyone was looking at Anupama in anticipation...

She started by building on Kavya's plan and by the time she finished.... everyone in the marketing team was in awe of her....

Anupama :- I think that's all I have.....

Saying this she took her seat worried that her idea might come off as stupid and she might have screwed this up.......when the entire conference room broke into an applause except Kavya and Vikram.....

While everyone was surprised by Anupama's intelligence and her grasp at marketing, Vikram was unmoved.

The reason being he has seen this side of Anupama in college who excelled at everything...be it studies...dance... presentations...group activity... basically she was a know it all back then....

Anupama was overwhelmed with the response but she was looking at Vikram who was sitting there lost in thoughts...

He saw the look on Anupama's face waiting for his approval....

He turned towards Kavya and asked....

Vikram :- Mrs Shah....do you have something to say about the suggestions Ms Joshi just made?

Kavya was fuming in jealousy but she knew she has screwed up big and only way to save face in front of Vikram was to appreciate Anupama....

Kavya :- Yes sir indeed....it's quite an improvement on my plan....I am sorry I dismissed it without considering....Anupama...

She said with a heavy weight on her heart.

Vikram :- Ms Joshi.....the idea was not only feasible but applicable to most of our projects....it would save us a fortune....good job....

Anupama :- Thank you so much sir....

Vikram :- If you would still like to work with us.....I have an opening on my latest project....why don't you join our marketing team?

Kavya :- But sir....

Vikram gave her a death glare and she stopped.

Anupama was overwhelmed. She didn't expect this. She didn't know what to say.

Vikram :- It's okay Ms Joshi....you don't have to answer straight away...I know you might be reluctant to work with us...after what happened today in the office....

Vikram sighed and looked at Kavya.

Vikram :- What happened today was very unfortunate Mrs Shah...so make sure it doesn't happen again....and it's not just for Mrs Shah.... it's for everyone... I don't want to see any of my employee or intern to be treated this way in my office....got it?

Everyone nodded.

Vikram :- You guys can leave...the meeting is over...

Everyone left accept Anupama and Vikram...

Vikram was in a dilemma whether he should tell Anupama that he knows her from college but he knew Anupama's shy nature and telling her might make her more reluctant to work with him. He decided he wouldn't do anything without talking to Devika.

While Anupama was worried whether she should take the offer or not after today. It was a fair deal....she wouldn't have to work under Kavya....plus she was getting a chance to directly work under the CEO. It would not only give her the learning experience she wanted but also would look good on her resume. She realised that not accepting such a good offer would be a missed opportunity.

Anupama came upto Vikram and said....

Anupama :- Thank you very much for the opportunity sir...I would really like to join your marketing team....it would be a great learning experience to have my first internship under you.....

Vikram smiled at the formality.....only if he could tell her...he used to call her bhabhi in college....but he decided against it....

Vikram :- I am sorry....I didn't offer you an internship...

Vikram said with a grin...
