《Teddy Bear | WinRina》Chapter 10

"Katrina."
Goddamn it.
"Katrinaaaa."
Katrina turned her head slightly, taking a glance, or glaring at the bear who's back-hugging her. "Winter, I need to sleep." She said firmly.
"Katrina~"
"THAT'S IT. I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU." With that, the latter adjust her position, ready to ignore whatever Winter is about to spawn.
"Katrina~" She can feel Winter scoot closer but she remained silent.
"Katrina Yu." Who the hell is the person doesn't really matter to Katrina as she just wants to sleep.
"Katrinaaa." Ok maybe Winter is too close right now because Katrina can literally feel her breathe on her ear. It made her shiver but she must not lose.
Winter remained quiet for a moment which made Katrina relaxed. She had been stiff when Winter closed their body gap, not minding to make any space at all.
Katrina was about to close her eyes and drift off but when Winter's pout landed on her nape, her body hitched instead. Winter must be asleep, she thought, as the pair of lips didn't move at all.
"Well, it's better that she's asleep than awake and babbling." Katrina said to herself and relaxed.
WRONG.
To her dismay, Winter is full awake. Katrina once again got her eyes widen as Winter tighten her wrap around her, but that was nothing the bear dragged her lips down.
"Win!-" Katrina wanted to push her off but Winter had her down. Her breathe hitched when Winter pulled back and planted a kiss instead. "Winter!"
Winter ignored her and planted another kiss just below the last part that she did, soon it turn into a trail.
"Winter stop!" The latter's breathe became heavy when Winter started trailing them over her shoulder. She was too close this time. Her cheek is pressed against Katrina's neck, avoiding her from tilting.
"W-winter, s-stop it!" Ragged, she can't even say it clearly, "What a-are you doing-"
Winter stop abruptly, flipping Katrina so she's pinning her on the bed. Katrina's face was tomato red as she stare at her with a gap.
"What am I doing?" She leaned in, pecking her jawline before whispering into Katrina's ear.
"You."
—
"Ok, so what are we doing exactly?" For the third time tonight, Ningning asked while fanning the air to avoid the mosquitos around her.
"Be patient, you'll see!"
Ningning had been trying to dig on her satanic friend but only to receive nothing at all from the pass 2 hours. She had been wondering why Aeri didn't brought her home like she told Katrina and why are they currently hiding behind the bushes near Katrina's house as if they were robbers about to launch anytime soon. It's torture enough that there are too many mosquitos.

"Enough of this! It's bad enough that we had to eat behind this plant and you haven't spill a thing about what's going on- OH MY GOD!!" She stopped abruptly to slap a mosquito off her forearm before continuing, "I DEMAND A CLEAR EXPLANATION, PRONTO!" She whispered a little too loudly to her friend who's currently fidgeting on her phone.
"SHH! If you keep on doing this, we're gonna get caught! You'll find out soon and you're gonna like it!" Aeri huffed back. Just on cue, her phone vibrates signalling an incoming call.
"Well speak of the devil, the soon is here." The satan smirked before answering the call. "Are they in? Okay...We'll be there in a sec."
"WHAT IS TH- GAH-" Ningning was about to speak, but Aeri was fast to drag her away by the wrist. She almost fell while making their way in front of Katrina's house.
By the time they stood outside the door, Aeri who had a smug on her face followed by a dying Ningning was welcomed by an excited squirtle who opened the door for them.
"Quick quick!" Yujin signalled them to come in. As the two entered, Aeri once again dragged her friend upstairs, probably to Katrina's cave. Poor Ning, her fast long legs didn't cooperate with her at this very moment.
But the latter stop midway to tiptoe, her friend almost fell to her death but Yujin was fast to catch her by her t-shirt. It didn't do much different though since rather than falling to her death, she might just choke into it.
"Just what in the world is going on?! Yujin, spill!" Ningning was in the verge of insanity when Aeri still haven't said anything and just try to eaves drop from Katrina's room door, considering all the mosquitos she had to fight and when her life was at stake.
"Aeri unnie had taught the baby bear something." Yujin too joined the satan, putting her ear on the door. "Come and listen."
"What?" Ningning was confused but she obeyed anyway.
"Winter-"
"Holy shit-" Ningning's eyes almost popped out of their socket when she heard her friend moan.
"Winter, s-stop-"
"PFFFT-" Aaeri though can no longer hold her snickers feeling satisfied that everything is in place.
"Win- Agh-"
"God, I'm so sorry I've sinned so much I'm ashamed to be born as a human but this is so-" Ningning whispered.
"Hnggg..!-"
"I CAN'T- I'M- THIS IS SO PFFT" The satan was trying so hard not to make her laugh audible as she pulled back from the door and just palmed her mouth. She basically looks like a dying fish trying to do so and her 'inaudible' laugh sounds like a jammed vacuum cleaner.

"You little shit, what have you done-" Ningning who pulled back, grabbed the friend by the collar and shook her rather vigorously. "WHAT HAVE YOU EDUCATE OUR BABY BEAR-"
"It was nothing! I only told her that kissing her master on the neck works better than kissing her on the lips HAHAH-"
Ning tilted to glance at Yujin who's also praying from the door now, kneeling and murmuring with a rosary clasped between her hands.
Everyone jolted up when they heard a loud thud followed by a crash.
"Baby bear???"
"Damn, did they get rough or somethi-"
It was the worst decision for Aeri and NIng to lean back to door when it suddenly burst open, hitting their poor cheek. Lucky for Yujin she had decided to be a good girl that moment.
" YUJIN, HELP!!!" Yujin opened her eyes to look the person crying for her rescue. That's when Winter came into her sight, frantically running away from God knows what. A book then flew to the bear's direction but luckily it didn't hit her. Oh.
"YUJIN WHERE ARE YOU, WINWIN IS SCARED!!! AERI LIED!!!"
More books came flying by the time Katrina fumingly got out from her room. Her eyes averted to Aeri who's curled into a ball, holding her cheeks. Same goes to Ningning.
"YOU!" Aeri jolted up, the pain on her cheek long forgotten she heard her victim shouted.
"Shit."
—
"Katrina, I'm so sorry-"
"WINWIN IS SO SORRY-"
"Kat, I didn't mean that-"
"PLEASE FORGIVE WINWIN-"
"I honestly thought it would be entertaining-"
Aeri and Winter had been chasing the still fuming cat, despite her fiery steps making her way to school. From the entrance of her house, she had ignored the satan although she had the will to wake up so early in the morning to apologize to Katrina.
"Entertaining??? Am I a joke? Is Winter a joke???" They stop near their school gate. Katrina had enough. She turned to her friend then to Winter. " AND YOU. STOP LISTENING TO THIS SATAN!" She pointed at the said girl.
"Ok ouch-"
"Sorry... Winwin will never do it again!" Winter was in the verge of tears. It's ridiculous how the sight of the almost crying bear soften Katrina immediately.
"Oh nononono don't cry! I'm- Okay okay fine! I forgive you, just don't do it again!" Katrina panicked, she doesn't want to be seen as a bully especially when there are students around her.
"Wow, should I cry to?" Aeri eyed Katrina who's rubbing Winter's forearms.
"Having a hard time, aye?" Ningning whistled, throwing her arm over Aeri's shoulder.
"Shut up."
"Not my fault." Ning laughed and patted her one the back before making her way to Winter to hug her. "Hello, baby bear." She messed her hair. Winter returned her with a cute smile despite the tears in her eyes.
"God, don't be so hard on her." Ningning pouted, wiping her tears away. The latter only scoffed.
"Well hello, peasants!" The sound of high heels clicking nearing them turns Ningning's pout into a serious frown.
"Ugh, God please no."
"Don't be so grum- Oh and who do we have here?" Soyeon sparks when she saw Winter. The trio threw each other a look before Katrina slowly tucked Winter behind her.
"HI! I'm Winwin Kim! Nice to meet you!!!" Winter went back out and waved at her hyperly.
"Oh?"
"Winter!" Katrina said loudly, trying to alarm the bear but she only tilted her head.
"She's only trying to introduce herself, what's the ill in that?" The Queen retorted. She pulled Winter to stand in front of her, "Plus, she's kinda cute."
Hearing the compliment that she had come to learn the meaning, Winter threw her a wide grin, "Thank you! You are cute too!"
"BACK OFF SISSY, SHE'S KATRINA'S." Aeri pulled Winter back and stood in front of Soyeon instead.
"Katrina's what?" The latter crossed her arms. Somehow it made Katrina blush.
Aeri was about to open her mouth but the bell rang signalling their first period is about to start.
"Pfft. Whatever, let's go Minnie." Soyeon winked at Winter before making her way back inside. It took a moment for the quiet one to move as she had been staring at Winter.
"Ugh. Rotten cheese." The satan crossed her arms.
"Nevermind that, Winter go home now, okay?" Katrina shrugged and just tell Winter off which she gladly compiled since her master already forgave her. And so, it's their turn to head to class.
"Am I forgiven now?" The satan grinned mockingly.
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"I'll buy you a week supply of banana milk."
"..."
"ORAYT."
—
"Winter Kim, is it?"
"Hm yeah..."
"I see..." Soyeon tapped her chin and smirked. "She's interesting, don't you think?" She glanced at Minnie.
The look in her eyes is something that Minnie recognize. Minnie averted her eyes from her to her feet.
"She is..."

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
