《Teddy Bear | WinRina》Chapter 1

The school bell rang and echoed throughout the classes in the hall indicates the first half of the typical school day has ended.
Sighs of relief, the grumble of stomachs can be heard coming from the tired students. They then rushed quickly out from their respective classes to heavenly side of the school, we all know very well where it is.
Except for a fellow student who doesn't really like to rush like the others because it's "inappropriate", followed by her two loyal bestfriends.
"Hdjskkwkws-" Katrina groaned and stretched her arms in relief, trying to ease the aches she felt after copying whatever the teacher wrote in front of her non-stop until God has decided to spare her life by flicking whoever's head to ring the bell.
"Tired much?" one of her best friend turned her chair around after hearing her groan. "And why aren't you, Ning?" Katrina threw her a question, more like a whining. It really confuses her sometimes, she has rarely seen her dearest friend with any fatigue in her, always with this bright aura around her.
"She's not tired, She's just old." the other one grabbed a chair and sat next to Katrina. Not before receiving a glare from the said old one.
"Shut up, Aeri." She huffed, rolling her eyes. Ningning giggled at the sight of the two. "Maybe you're right." she teased just to receive a glare from her.
"We're just kidding! Shall we go now? Someones gonna steal all of my precious chicken and it'll all be your fault!" Aeri dramatically points at Katrina. They then make their way to the cafeteria.
Katrina furrowed her eyebrows, "That never happened." she mumbled. "If you keep being like this, they'll also steal all the banana milk! Don't you feel sorry for yourself?" Aeri exaggerated out the last part. Katrina flinched at the thought of her favorite drink being taken away.
But she stopped her step, earning Ningning and Aeri's attention. "Wait, what do you mean by 'keep being like this'? keep being what?" Aeri grinned. "Being a granny."
And with that, their little chase begun and they reached the cafeteria a little earlier than they usually did.
Yes, that's Katrina's daily life.
But she doesn't complain. She thinks it's pretty decent, a little boring but it's fine.
The boring part is of course, none other than going to school, learning a little bit of this and a little bit of that in the morning till noon, fetching her younger sister, Yujin, from her school and went back home together. Do chores after that sometimes, like how a mother would do, doing laundry, cooking meals, helping Yujin with her homework, etc.

And the cycle went on.
Katrina live alone with her little sister. Their parents are in the US, leaving them both in Korea. It's not that they 'left' them out of nonsense purposes, It's just that they're working.
The brighter part of her life is Yujin, and two of the idiots she sticks to, Aeri and Ningning.
As it was mentioned before, Yujin is not that typical kid who runs around and begs for stuff from her. Yujin is rather mature and very obedient for her age. She listens to her well and sometimes its the other way around.
She loves Katrina and Katrina loves her.
Katrina couldn't ask for a better sister. Aeri and Ningning are Katrina's sidekicks. Friends are one of the reason why we attend school isn't? They are Katrina's reason. Though they both might tease each other a lot but she knew they are just merely teases and those teases reminded Katrina why the trio are best friends. She laugh at the thought sometimes.
They're always there to lend a helping hand for her. Katrina couldn't ask for better idiots.
—
Katrina is on duty today alongside two other classmates to clean their class. Aeri and Ningning volunteered to help since its the last day of school for the week but Katrina politely declined, saying that she can do it herself. "Plus, I'm not alone. Yeji and Bangchan are on duty too." She let out a soft smile to her besties.
"Yeji is okay, but Bangchan? You'll probably gonna break your spine doing his part where he'll just slack off." Ningning joked a bit but deep inside, she's worried. "Can't we just at least wait for you?" There goes the soft spot of Aeri.
"No." Katrina chuckled. "Just go home, meet you guys tomorrow!" She quickly hug them both, dashing out of the scene to their class before the duo could even say anything.
Ningning was right about Bangchan. Katrina reached their class only to be greeted by Bangchan who's now doing a fail twirl with the broomstick to impress Yeji who's just staring blankly at him.
"Am I not impressive?" Bangchan still doing his fail twirl. "My twirling skill is too amusing that you're out of word, am I right?" gibberish this time.
Yeji blinked. "Oh you were twirling? I thought you were trying to get of flies. I was confused because I didn't saw any." she stated flatly but she really meant what she said.
With that, Bangchan dropped the broom with his jaw hanging low. Katrina chuckled at the scene and it was noticed by Yeji who's expressionless face turns into a grin. "Oh Kat!"

"Hi." She smiled. "Sorry to kept you guys waiting. I had to inform my friends and text my little sister to get back home without me." Since she'll be home a little late.
Yujin was okay with it.
"It's fine! Let's start, shall we?" Yeji handed a broom to her and she nodded. "Chan?" Katrina called, Bangchan who's head was hang low looked up with a frown. Hoping that it'll make Katrina say something to brighten him up. "Can you stop hitting those non-existing flies and let's just finish our work?" She held back her laughter when Bangchan whined but ended up grabbing the broom he dropped and started sweeping. Lifelessly.
The two girls chuckled at the scene and they continued cleaning without having Bangchan hitting flies throughout the duty.
—
The sun was about to settle down when Katrina was walking down the road to her house.
She once again stretched her arms and tried to crack a few joints to release some tensions in her body. It's been quite a day for her indeed.
"Maybe Aeri is right. I am getting too old. I guess.." She mumbled while rubbing the back of her head while trying to ease the tension at area.
Just when Katrina was tilting her head side to side, something caught her eyes. A few pile of garbage bag piled neatly under a lamp post can be seen on the left side of the street when she's on her way. But that's not what caught her attention.
It was this stuffed animal who's sitting under and in the middle of the light of the lamp post. Who wouldn't be attracted to this kind of toy?
She walked to it slowly and eye-ing carefully to make up what animal is it. "A teddy bear?" An eyebrow was raised. She held it up to and eye-level and study its feature. Realizing that the teddy was very clean and not a single scratch or dirt on it. "Now who would throw this cute little bear away? And it looks new!" She turns the bear around.
She eyed the pile of garbage bags once again before turning back to the bear. "It wouldn't be called picking up from the trash when its a little far from it, right?" Katrina paused for a moment, biting her lower lips, thinking that should she bring it home or not.
"Wait." She thought for a second before bringing the teddy bear closer to her nose to sniff it. "Great! It doesn't smell, but rather scented. I'm bringing you home, little one!"
She continued her way home while hugging her "new" teddy bear. Who would really just leave a perfect looking teddy bear on the street?
—
"I'm home!" Katrina took off her shoes and place them neatly on the edge when she reached her destination.
"Welcome h- what is that?" Yujin was about to finish her greet when her gaze into the thing her sister was hugging.
Katrina lift it up and eyed it. "It's a live chicken. Of course it's a teddy bear! Isn't it obvious?" She finished her sentences with a chuckle. Yujin rolled her eyes. "Yeah I know but- where did you get it?"
"Saw it stranded on the street, I just rescued it." Katrina said and went in straight to kitchen to grab a drink but not before placing the bear on the counter.
"What? You're telling me you just grab it out of nowhere, not knowing where its from or whoever it belongs to or is it really a bear and not a bomb?" Yujin grimaced at her sister.
"It's not! I've checked. It's also clean and looks kinda new. Check it yourself then." Katrina claimed after finishing a glass of water.
Yujin was not sure if she should touch it but she did it anyway. "Oh, guess you're right." Her sister then smiled and ruffled her hair.
"Yah! Uh nevermind. I bought a piece of cake and banana milk for you, in the fridge. Don't forget to eat." Yujin fixed her hair and head into the living room to watch some cartoons.
"Aww thank you so much, you're the best!" Yujin just waved her hand from the sofa.
—
After finishing some chores and taking a shower, Katrina went to her bed to get her needed sleep. "Let's not forget you!" She grabbed the teddy bear and raised it high like it was her favorite thing.
Somehow she grew attached to the teddy bear even though they just meet.
Katrina then went under her blanket with the bear. "Welcome to your new home." She mumbled quietly because her eyes were starting to get heavy.
She kissed the teddy bear right on the mouth before hugging it to Dreamland.
Little that she knows the stuffed one will no longer be a teddy bear the next morning. Because Katrina just activated it.
