《MELODY》SEVENTEEN/ON PURPOSE

It was a new day, new week and Khari was ready for work. He was ready to bring in a new assistant. He didn't know what was going on with Julia but he knew something was wrong, he called her and texted but she never answered. Right now he just used Armani as his assistant. He wasn't he type to do pop ups because he never thought if drilling a shawty, if she didn't want anything to do with him then he just had to live with that, it wasn't his thing and he knew this wasn't his fault. He just believed that they had a better understanding and communication but seems like he was wrong.
He drove through the city, scanning the area as he drove and took a business call, he would soon have to go back to Atlanta for another event and business meeting. He actually missed it there, his home, friends and of course the parties and women. As he talked to his publication company that helped publish all of his issues for his magazine, he spotted Kiara walking from the subway. He switched lanes and honked the horn and rolled the window down.
"Ayo! You that photographer joint that work at Francois Magazine." He yelled as he muted his call. Kiara's neck swung in his direction, she looked as though she was ready to snap at the random guy until she realized it was Khari.
"Don't do that, I was boutta air your ass out." She snapped.
"Yeah, okay. Get in." He said pulling over, unlocking the car. She opened the door and got in. The two rode to the office as Kiara paid no attention to the young man, which Khari wished he could say the same for himself. He gave her his full attention. He scanned the young women down. Noticing the black heeled, knee high boots she had on which went perfectly with her dark washed denim jeans that went with her black turtle neck. She layered it with some necklaces. In the past weeks of working with Kiara, she never dressed this nice. Khari always admired her looks, but now, he was beyond amazed.

"What you looking all good for?" He asked licking his lips, glancing over at her.
"None of your business." She teased.
"Oh it's like that? Bet. You're fired." Khari joked, he tried to keep a serious face but he cracked a grin when he glanced and saw Kiara's face in shock. "I'm just messing with you." He laughed.
"You're so childish." Kiara said looking over him. She was impressed by his choice of clothing today. Khari always looked good in his fitted suits but today was different. It was like he was just not in the mood for a suit, his turtle necks and dress pants were just simple and sleek. The diamond chain on his neck made it even better, it glistened in the morning sun, complimenting his dark smooth skin.
"So what you been up to? Haven't really talked to you recently. How's the new place?" Khari asked.
"It's pretty good. Just gotta finish putting stuff up."
"That's good. I had got you a housewarming gift, or apartment warming gift."
"Aw thank you, appreciate it."
"No problem. It's just a plant and some glasses." Khari shrugged as the pulled up in front of the office and parked. They got out and walked into the building being greeted by Armani.
"Good morning Mr. Sage and Hey Kiki." Armani greeted the two.
"Y'all best friends now?" Khari asked with a chuckle.
"You jealous?" Kiara grinned as she strutted to the elevator.
"Tuh, she was my friend first." Khari shrugged speeding to the elevator with Armani.
The three got onto the elevator and then went their separate ways, thankful Kiara didn't have any shoots and she didn't have any work for classes due. All she had to do was edit some pictures and send them to the magazine editors for a new publication.
Khari sat in his office looking over the unfinished magazine, he grew irritated because this issue wasn't it, it was sloppy and the theme and design was just terrible.
"Mani, can you bring one of the editors, writers, whoever the hell is responsible for this b.s." Khari fell back into his seat, he sighed and began to rub his temples. Armani has been his substitute assistant, she may just become his full time if Julia doesn't return soon. As he was about to pick up his phone he heard a knock on the door.

"Bring em' in Mani!" The door opened showing Julia. Khari was amazed at the sight but annoyed at the same time. "About damn time you appeared. Where you been?" He asked standing up, sliding his hands in his pockets, walking to the front of his desk.
"We have to talk." Julia spoke anxiously causing Khari to lean against the desk.
"Okay that's great but I need to see the design so I can see how these photos are gonna be edited." Kiara spoke over the phone with the editors office. "Why y'all acting all secretive? Know what forget it, I'll figure this out myself." She said hanging up the phone. Next grabbing her laptop and storming out of her office to Khari's. She was getting irritated with these editors, they've been acting stupid for the past week about this issue and she was getting tired of arguing with them. So why not go to the man in charge and tell him to get his workers in line because Kiara didn't have time to get wasted, time is money and she refused to lose money. She opened the office door seeing nothing but Julia and Khari kissing on his desk. "Bitch!" Kiara said dropping her laptop on the floor in shock at the sight next charging over to Julia, grabbing her jacket and throwing her to the ground.
"Wait! Kiki she's pregnant!" Khari said pulling Kiara off.
"You fucking treesh! Ima whoop ya ass once he let me go." Kiara fought to get out of Khari's grasp.
"Kiara I can explain." Julia cried.
"Nah, fuck ya explanation." Kiara yelled before being pulled out by Khari.
"The hell wrong with you! She pregnant-" Khari began.
"With my best friends baby and she in here kissing all up on you. She catching all the static I swear yo." Kiara paced back and forth.
"Your best friend? Kiara what are you talking about?" Khari asked. His heart began to beat fast, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Her and my best friend Troy, they together. Wait she been playing you?" Kiara asked shocked.
"Ion get played."
"Tuh." Kiara scoffed crossing her arms over her chest. Khari was in disbelief. He rubbed his hands down his face next hearing his office door open, showing Julia.
"Can I explain now?" Julia asked innocently.
"I should punch you in ya throat." Kiara huffed.
"Bitch shut up so I can talk." Julia grew annoyed.
"Bit- i oughta." Kiara hopped but got grabbed by Khari. At this point people in the hall looking to see what the commotion was.
"I'm sorry, okay? Yes I was messing around with Troy and you and-"
"Yeah, yeah, great, is that my child?" Khari asked.
"Probably not. Treesh." Kiara mumbled.
"Speak up." Julia spat.
"You real bold for a bitch that's unsure on who nutted in her." Kiara spoke. Kiara was quite a lot but when it came to family she didn't play any games.
"I don't know." Julia rolled her eyes next putting her attention back on Khari.
"Well until you figure this shit out, leave me alone. I'll schedule a paternity test." Khari said walking to his office door. "Get back to work. Julia you can show yourself out, Kiara, bring ya ass in here." Khari demanded.
Kiara stuck her tongue out at Julia before entering the office.
"So the reason I came here to begin with is because-"
"I don't wanna hear it. Call your best friend, I'll call him a Lyft here, I need to figure some shit out." Khari sighed.
"Ok. Listen I'm sorry, you shouldn't have to deal with a whore like that."
"Just call your friend, I appreciate it." Khari said dismissing Kiara.
Kiara walked to her office. How the hell was she gonna tell her brother this. She had to tell him a lot of messed up stuff in the past but this one, this the cherry on the top of the cake.
