《MELODY》FOUR/FEELS

As Kiara and Prince walked around The High Line they talked about Prince's football career and his back up plan and same for Kiara. Kiara loved photography but she knew it wasn't going to make her much money so she set her heart out in business for her college major and for her life. She wanted a heavy form of income and she knew she could get anything with a business degree. Yet for Prince his heart was sent on football, he's gotten plenty of offers but didn't commit to a team yet. He had his heart set on the Philadelphia Easgles in his home state. He's always dreamed of playing for the super bowl champion team ever since him and his dad went to their football games when he was younger. But if that didn't work out he was going to school for physical therapy.
They stopped at a bench and sat down for a while. Kiara was relieved because her feet were hurting like hell. She wore a oversized hoodie, flannel and jeans with Jordan's. She called her style 'cozy' it's just how she felt. While for Prince he wore a Nike sweatsuit. Kiara was cool with it because all they were doing were walking around and eating junk food. This was her best date, well her only date but she liked it. She was a simple girl. It was easy to impress her.
"When's your next shoot?" Prince asked as they chilled on the park bench looking over the city.
"Friday. It's for some ad." Kiara told him. It was a cool Wednesday night. They were planning on their date being Friday or Saturday but Kiara had her photo shoot and Prince had a football game. It was his school homecoming game and he couldn't miss it.
"That's right, you deff did tell me about that. Congrats on your internship." Prince smiled at her. He loved hearing people succeed. It made him happier that it was someone he had interest in.
"Thank you. I appreciate it." Kiara smiled.
"You're on your way up there." He held his out for a high-five. Kiara put her hand on his, high-fiving him.
Kiara enjoyed the energy she was getting from Prince. She was very big on energy and vibes. If they weren't right she would've called off the date immediately. Kiara was a very spiritual person. She believed in the universe and speaking things into existence. Whatever you speak out into it will come true.

The two relaxed then began walking back to the train before it got too late. They knew how things got at night and didn't want to get caught up in it.
Once they got to their stop Prince walked Kiara to her apartment. Once they reached her door, to Kiara's surprise Troy was sitting in her step.
"Why are you here?" Kiara asked Troy confused.
"We gotta go." Troy said hopping up.
"What you mean?" Kiara asked confused.
Troy didn't say anything, he just looked between Kiara and Prince signaling for them to say their goodbyes so that Prince could go.
"I'll text you later on tonight." Kiara turned to Prince.
"Ard. Be safe." Prince said as he hugged Kiara before walking off.
Kiara turned back to Troy once Prince turned the corner to the subway. "Whats going on Troy." She asked one last time.
Next thing she knew Troy's mom pulled up beside them. They got in and she rushed off.
"Is anyone gonna answer my question?" Kiara grew impatient and wanted answers immediately.
"Your granny is in the hospital. She fell and was unresponsive, your uncle called the ambulance and know they're running test to make sure she's okay." Troy's mom told Kiara. Kiara's heart began to race. She hoped her granny was okay. Kiara didn't know what she would do if she lost her, especially now. She didn't even get out of college yet. Shoot she didn't even get accepted for any internships or jobs yet. Her mind raced with negative thoughts. She started shaking her leg and Troy realized.
"Kiki, everything's gonna be okay. Think positive thoughts." Troy confronted his best friend. He knew how she got. He knew once he saw her leg shake she was no longer thinking positive and last thing he needed was for his best friend to go back into her hole. She was starting to come out and he was happy.
Once they pulled up to the hospital Kiara hopped out the car and bolted into the hospital. She made it to the receptionist desk as the lady sat on the phone taking a personal call.
"Girl please, she know that man don't love her." The lady gossiped. Her long white nails tapped on the desk as she chewed her gum.
"Excuse me, what room is Cynthia Palet in?" Kiara asked impatiently.

"Hold on girl." The lady said putting the phone down. "Don't you see I'm on the phone? Y'all kids this generation just rude." She gave Kiara a glare then rolled her eyes.
"Bit-." Kiara was cut off by Troy putting his hand on her shoulder. Kiara took a deep breath.
"Miss, where's her room?" Tory spoke for Kiara.
The lady rolled her eyes and typed away on her computer. "Room 233." She told them.
"Thank you." Troy said grabbing Kiara's hand and walking off. They stopped on the elevator. "You was finna swing on shawty." Troy joked.
"Troy shut up. She was wildin'." Kiara said.
"Naw you was wildin'." Troy laughed as the elevator came to a stop and they walked off in the direction of the room.
They walked in seeing Kiara's grandmom laying in bed watching tv, her uncle sitting beside her on his phone. He looked high as a damn cloud and Kiara grew more pissed.
"Daadee you okay? What her doctor say?" Kiara asked her uncle.
"They ran some test, just to see if the cancer was spreading any faster." He said wiping his eyes.
"You can go home." Kiara said to her messed up uncle.
"Nah I'm good right here baby girl." He smiled. That sent chills down Kiara's body.
Kiara continued to talk to her granny until they heard a slight knock on the room door.
"Hi, are you Kiara?" The doctor asked.
"Yes." Kiara informed him.
"Well we ran some test and she's progressing way faster than we expected. We're gonna keep her here for a few days just for professional watch." He told Kiara.
"For like how long?" Kiara asked.
"Maybe a week or two."
"Two weeks is way more than a few days doc." She began to grow anxious and irritated.
"Kiki." Troy looked over at her with a knowing look causing her to calm down.
"We'll keep you and your uncle posted." He told Kiara.
"No, I'm her caregiver you can just call me." Kiara informed the doctor.
"Okay. Have a good night everyone." The doctor said. He told Kiara to fill out some paperwork and then she met her granny's nurses.
"Daadee I'll be back after school tomorrow. Okay?" Kiara informed her granny.
"Yes baby. Have a good day at school tomorrow. Don't stress over me, I'll be fine." Her granny said kissing her grand daughter. Kiara nodded she began walking out with Troy trailing behind her until her granny stopped Troy. "Troy, look out for her." Her granny said. Troy modded in agreement.
Troy and Kiara and her uncle took an Uber back home. Troy's mom had to work so she couldn't stay long.
"Can I stay the night at your place?" Kiara whispered to Troy.
Troy looked up at her uncle making sure he wasn't listening. He knew how her uncle felt about Kiara and Troy hated it, he hated him.
"Sure. I'll go with you to get your clothes." Troy said. He wasn't letting his best friend go anywhere alone with that man.
When they arrived Troy walked with Kiara into the house and with her to get her clothes. Her uncle went into the living room and sat on the couch. When Kiara came out with her clothes she grabbed her phone charger and headphones before heading out.
"Where you think your going? Until Daadee get back I'm in charge of ya ass." Carlos asked her.
"Under the law at the age of 18 you ain't in charge of shit. I'm grown. I can go where I wanna go." Kiara said reaching for her keys on the coffee table.
Carlos gripped her wrist pulling her closer to him. "You ain't going no damn where Kiara." Kiara could see the red in his eyes, he was way passed high and he wanted more than her company. He gave her a seductive smile and fear grew in her body.
"Get the hell off of her!" Troy pushed him into a wall causing Carlos let go immediately holding onto his back.
"Come on Kiki." Troy said grabbing her and rushing out of the house.
Carlos always looked at Kiara and made inappropriate remarks but he never put his hands on her and now that he gripped her up like that she definitely didn't wanna go back home until her granny got back.
