《Poetry; Sure It May Hurt》Healing is a process

You're eyes are distant

glossy, and persistent

this I can tell.

Your heart has lost its will

as it sings, I hear it calling

still calling and forever falling.

As I follow the sound of your heart

I see you, some little heart that everything has happened to,

I can see you're learning,

but you feel that your past has come back to taunt you.

you've been searching,

searching for everything,

every possible answer you could ever plausibly find to be true.

As you go through

every poem, every book, every novel you could possibly find,

looking for the truth.

but, you,

you're not looking for things like places to hide,

you're looking,

you're yearning,

you're learning

that healing is a process

even-still,

your poor little heart has been hurt

no one told you that it would take so long to heal

to move on.

you never expected nor asked to suddenly remember things,

things from your past

things that were hard to process

Though, now that this has started to happen

everything is starting to make sense.

You feel as if all of the pieces of the puzzle will soon fall into place.
