She adverts her eyes from mine. I cannot believe it. Why would she ever think that she was not good enough for me? I was the one who lucky.

She is the beautiful girl I had ever set eyes upon. She hid her face in books and her gorgeous body in baggy clothes.

Her smile is like a drug and now I am having withdraws.

I start the engine and drive away. In the corner of my eye, I see Becca take a glance. I should have protected her from those girls.

I should have know that she was insecure about herself.

I head to Aaron's house. "Hey bro. You and that bra girl, huh?" He jokes.

"Her name is Becca." I snapped.

"Woo, look at Jackson! In lurrve!" He crackled.

"Piss off!"I yell. He looks surprised.

"So you really like this girl, don't you?" He says, turning serious.

He looks at me, like he can't believe it.

I tell him everything. The way her lips curled as she smiled. The way her hair cascaded down her shoulder. The way she bit her lip when she was thinking. It felt good tell someone, the truth.

"Dude, you have to give her some space." he said, finally as I finished.

"She might slip away." I protest.

"If she really likes you she wouldn't." he said.

I sigh and run my hands through my hair. "It's just I usually have girls figured out and it's usually so obvious when they like me, but I never know if Becca likes me or not. I can't even imagine what she is thinking."

"Bro, that's tough." he sympathised. I bury my face in my hands.

"But it's worth it in the end isn't it?" he says.

"Distract me." I demand, soul weary about thinking about Becca.

"You should totally check out the new chick- he starts to say.

"Nothing girl related, please." I groan.

I spent the entire afternoon playing Mario Kart with Aaron.

"You are so losing!" he shouts as he passes me.

"Says the guy who lost 7 times, already." I shot back.

"I have a feeling." he says. Oh no!

"That tonight's gonna be a good night. That tonight's be a good good night- He sings.

"PLEASE STOP! You are completely off key." I yelped.

" Can you do it better?" He challenges me.

Soon we both are singing off key and dancing around.

Our voices crack at woo hoo and we collapse laughing.

Where would I be without my best friend? He offers me a piece of advice when I leave. I take it.

Before going home, I stop by her house, again and slide in a piece of paper under the door.

I believe in us, I believe in you.
