Sitting in an awkward position, Damien and Winnie. So many things to say but nothing comes out. She feel through the life journey, she has finally managed to lose herself. The world that she used to see with colours, is colourless now. And she can't really blame him either, can she. In his defence, he has helped her as much as he could. Even though he taunts or mocks but that doesn't change the fact that he has helped in her hardest of times. When she had no one, only he was the one there. Nonetheless with a harsh look on his fact but yet still helping her in a rudest way possible.

His ex kidnapped her, or whatever she was to him. It wasn't his fault either. However someone got shot, and someone was at fault on that. And that was her. If only Chris didn't come to the rescue. Baby Oakley is in a position to lose her only parent, all because of her.

Tears appeared in her eyes, as she remembered her childhood. Growing up with one parent is hard as it is, and growing up as an orphan can be tougher. Oh God, why is she thinking so negative and worst. She prayed to God in silence to bring Chris back to health.

"You're blaming yourself, aren't you?" Commented Damien. Knowing her, it was obvious she is blaming herself for the condition of Chris. She wasn't at the fault, so she has nothing to feel guilty about.

There was a knock on the door, "Come in." Damien answered.

Winnie anxiously looked as a lady doctor entered inside the room.

"Sorry to disturb you both." The Doctor said entering inside.

"How are you, Miss Smith?" She asked.

"Good." Replied Winnie.

"Well then, Miss Smith, I believe your hydration level is a bit better now. Due to not receiving any nutrients from past week, your body was feeding on your muscles. It would be really appreciable, if you please take care of your diet. Drink a lot of water and eat fruits and vegetables regularly." Doctor elaborated.

"Understood." Replied Damien instead of Winnie.

"And please have a mental relax too. It would be recommended if she doesn't go to work or study, whatever is that she does. Just rest for a while." Doctor said, looking towards Damien.

"Ok. Thanks."

"When can we leave?"

"If Miss Smith feels better than she can leave now, I'll just write some painkillers and vitamins." The doctor said, going out of the room to write a prescription of medicines for Winnie.

"We can't leave." Winnie commented as soon as the doctor was out.

Damien knew why she was saying that, and he understands her but the longer she stays here the more stress it will cause to her mental health. He, himself was also worried about Chris, but he was healthy and Winnie was exhausted due to the longer week she had experienced. It will be better to stay at home and calm her mind.

"Let's do this. We'll go home. Take shower. Eat something. Rest a little. Then maybe come back to the hospital." He spoke to her very gently, in a tone he mainly uses with Oakley only.

"I don't want to."

"Please," He pleaded, sighed.

Winnie looked at him in confusion. What was wrong with him. She hasn't seen this kind of Damien before. He was acting kind and weird, maybe it is all so he can go back to rude self again. And doesn't he always do that. Bipolar man.

"You want him to come back to health, right? Don't you want to help him through it, in this state, it might be really impossible." He said, convincing her.

Winnie nodded. True his words. Winnie was herself a mess right now. She needs to go shower at least.

He came forward towards her and helped her out of the bed, she hissed at his touch. There was a time, she would have done eveything in her power to get close to him but right now she doesn't feel a thing. All of the feelings she had for him are gone suddenly. She feels nothing at his touch, not even despise. She knew at the moment her heart was finally done with this man. She chuckled to herself, took the heart long enough to know it's worth.

Instead of just helping her walk, he decided it would be more better if he carries her all the way to the car. As he picked her small body in a bridal style, Winnie gasped. There were too many people outside, it would be so embarrassing to be carried like that. But Damien didn't care about anyone's opinion.

"I can walk." Winnie said, protesting out of his hold but it was firm and strong. She struggled for a moment to get out but gave up as her energy drained out, now she thinks it's better to be carried, she is too worn out to walk.

"Damien," shouted Oakley running to their direction as Ethan paced up behind her, out of breath. The little kid has caused him trouble in just 30 minutes.

Ethan passed Damien a smirk at their position.

"Winnie," Oakley exclaimed.

"Thank god, you came, man. This little child has tired me up."

Damien pleaded Ethan through his eyes to babysit Oakley for some more time. He could take her home but Winnie wasn't in a position to babysit Oakley infact she herself needed a babysitter.

"Alright." Huffed Ethan.

"Damien, your friend bad. Doesn't buy me chocolates." Said Oakley standing close to his legs.

"I brought you 7 chocolates, you monster." Ethan replied back to her.

"I wanted more!"

"Pick me up too." She said, extending her hands to Damien.

Meanwhile Winnie was too embarrassed to be caught like that, her cheeks turned red so she turned her face towards his chest, hiding herself from everyone.

"Oakley, Winnie has a boo boo and that's why she needs to rest. I'm going to drop her home and come back to you, okay?" Oakley pouted, a little sad but nodded. She ran out of the area and Ethan ran behind to catch her up making Damien chuckle.

He sat her down on the passenger seat, tightened the seat belt. He sat on his seat and drove the engine towards the direction of the penthouse.

There was awkward silence in the car which was felt by him. Winnie was occupied by her own thoughts as she stared the busy city. However Damien wanted to talk, make her speak up. Just anything. He was craving to hear her voice. But of course this isn't the best time, she is exhausted. Perhaps any other day. Damien was sure they're going to have more moments in car. And why won't they. She is going to be his, real soon. But he can't just figure it out how to confess everything, how to apologise. Should he do it over a dinner date. That will going to be their first ever date. But for that he will have to ask her on a date. Things like those aren't really his things. He wished Chris was awake so he would have asked him for the guidance as Chris has always been one of romantic kind of a man.

As they reached the building of the penthouse, he got out and helped her out too. He was going carry her again but she was already walking on her own inside the building.

As they both entered the penthouse, Winnie's eyes roamed around the penthouse. She is back in the hell. All those insults, taunts and attitude is a suffocation to her. The miserable life is going to come back and there is no escape.

"You should go and shower." It was more of a command but with a tender tone. As much as Winnie would like not to listen, she really needed a shower because she was stinking.

Winnie made her way to the toilet in her room. Taking her clothes off, she hurriedly entered the shower and switched the tap on. She relaxed under the hot water and closed her eyes to forget about whatever has happened until now. How did her life become dramatic from boring?

She shampooed and conditionered her hair and scrubbed her body with the shower gel, hissing at the contact of hot water touching her small cuts that occurred when she fell on the floor while running.

Damien was right, she really needed to freshen up by shower.

She wrapped the towel around herself and got out of the room. She opened her closet to find something to wear. Couldn't find anything cozy enough, her eyes travelled to one of his shirt that she kept here. That night when Chris stayed and she wore Damien's shirt, she never returned it. She was never planning to return it. It is the most cozy shirt ever. She took it out and after drying her body with the towel, she put the shirt on with underwear.

She jumped on the bed and made herself comfortable in her duvet. Her eyes were begging to be shut down already. She snuggled her face on the pillow as she waited for a deep slumber to occur on it's own.

Just as she was asleep, there was a knock on the door waking her up. Damien didn't wait for her response and entered inside the room. In his hand there was a tray with a milkshake and bowl of fruit salad.

Winnie covered herself till the neck, making sure he doesn't see that she is wearing his shirt. Or else his stupid mind will think something else and she is only trying to sleep in cozy clothes.

"I brought you dinner." Said Damien.

"Are you cold?" He asked, as he saw her covering herself in the duvet as much as possible. He put his hand on her forehead, he relaxed as he felt her temperature to be normal.

"Shall I close the windows." He stated, before going towards the balcony area and closing every windows including the balcony door.

Winnie looked at the uneven size of fruits in the bowl. Did he make her a bowl of fruit salad? That's really seem to be impossible. He is someone who doesn't even cut fruits for himself. Did he go out of his way to cut fruits for her? But why. Out of sympathy possibly.

He was still in her room when his phone rang in his pant pocket. He looked at the called id and picked up the call. Ethan was calling, and it probably due to Oakley. She must be causing him trouble.

"Yeah," He picked up.

He hissed at whatever Ethan told him and replied, "Ok, I'm coming." He cut the phone off.

Winnie was eavesdropping and was aware it was from the hospital. Did something happen to Chris. She stood up from the bed, tears dropping her eyes as she went towards Damien.

"Is he alright?" She asked.

The first thing Damien noticed was his shirt, his heart melted with happiness at her act of wearing his shirt. That means there is a chance of her forgiving him and forgetting the tragic past. But right now he has serious case to take care of in the hospital.

Looking at her tears, his heart shattered into sadness. He stepped closer to her and wiped the tears from her face. He took her body into a hug, soothing her.

"Everything is fine, love. Don't worry." He told her.

"Eat the dinner and go to sleep. Okay? Everything is fine, you don't need to worry yourself." He spoke to her in a soft voice.

"I'll come with you." She said.

"No. You're not." His reply was stern.

"Please,"

"Come on, you have to sleep." He was telling her to go sleep peacefully when there was a life in danger due to her fault. She knew he won't take her with him so she will just wait for him to leave.
