《His Personal Chef》Chapter 21

I argued with myself whether should I go out or not. I'm hungry and I need breakfast. Living under his roof, feels like he's a god, providing me with shelter. Even though I still dislike him I am also thankful for him for all the help. I don't know where would I have gone if he didn't come to pick me up.

Not thinking more, I decided to step out of the room. I went towards the dining room, Damien was sitting there, reading newspaper while sipping on his coffee.

"Good Morning!" I greeted and got no response in return as always. This man is more colder then Antartica itself.

"Good Morning, Miss... You want something to eat?" The girl from yesterday said. I regret snapping at her, she seems a sweet person.

I nodded my head at her, she gave me a pleasant smile before going back to the kitchen and returning with a tray full of delicious breakfast.

I took a seat and that's when I noticed Damien was in his suit. "Are we going to office?"

He didn't spare me a glance as he stood up, wore his coat and went outside. Such a workaholic. Who even works on Sundays. Do I need to follow him? He didn't say anything so I might just stay in, afterall it's Sunday.

....

Sometimes life is unbelievable, you end up on the doorsteps of people who hate you. God makes them your helper.

I was laying on the bed and it was currently 5 pm. I bet he'll come around at 9 or so. That man has no life seriously. How can he manage modeling and his big company with thousands of enterprise at the same time? This is mad sick.

I decided to go out of the room. Maybe help with something. I feel unproductive. Can't be trapped inside this room, bored.

As I went out, towards the kitchen, Emma was there cooking. She looked in a very happy mood. How can this girl be always happy and cheerful? God I wish I had her mood.

"Hi!" I said in a polite voice.

"Hi, How are you?" She greeted back with enthusiasm.

"I'm good and you?"

"Good too. You want to eat something?"

"No! I was wondering if I could help you with something?" I asked, looking around the kitchen. The kitchen is designed in a very unique and appealing way. I can cook here whole day whole my life.

"Not really. I wanna enjoy my last day here." I looked at her dumbly, not understanding the meaning behind her statement.

She saw me all puzzled up and explained, "I'm leaving."

"Oh!"

"Yeah! I finally got a job in a company." She smiled to herself. Good for her.

"Mr Knight is such a good person. He is the one who helped me with it."I laughed a little at her comment. Nice and Damien doesn't fit in one sentence. She should double check it.

"Since you'll be the one working here, I was wondering if I should explain you how he likes his things to be." Is she out of her mind. I narrowed my eyes at her and gave her a questioning look.

"Huh?"

"I think you'll be taking care of most things around this house." What is she even saying.

Since she's leaving, he thought to bring me here and be his maid? So is this why he was helping me? Of course! It all makes sense now. He's helping cause he wants something in return. No one helps for free. He wouldn't leave such an opportunity to disgrace me.

I excused myself and went to the guest room. Should I just leave? I let the tears out of my eyes, he is no better then any other man out there who wanna take advantage of vulnerable alone girls.

There was a knock on the door as Emma spoke from outside, "Mr Knight is here and he wants to speak with you." And I don't want to speak with him.

If I had a home, or a friend, any relative, anyone, I would run away and never come back around his presence. But unfortunately for me I'm in his debt.

I went out, Damien was sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee. He looked tired but who cares. I sat down on the couch infront. He turned towards me.

"Miss Smith, I have a proposal for you."

I know where it's going.

"To be your maid? Offer rejected, Mr Knight." I said without hesitating.

"Excuse me," He said, looked confused.

"Whatever offer you have for me, I reject it, Mr Knight."

However that didn't make him stop as he continued with his offer, "You're living under my roof without having to pay for it." Ok it's been just one day, the way he says it like I have been living here all my lifetime.

"I'll find a hotel to live until I arrange for my house, if you want me to pay for the night I spend here when I get my first payment..-"

"How are you planning to pay my money back, Miss Smith."

I stayed muted. I don't even have a cent right now. How am I going to return him millions. It will take forever and ever.

"Let's make a deal." He said, he crossed his legs and laid a little backwards leaning his whole body on the couch.

Looking towards the ceiling he continued, "You are already my assistant." He took a great pause.

"But from now onwards you'll be My Personal Chef as well for next five years to clear the debt."

What?

5 year?

It's too much.

But the offer isn't that bad for a person who is homeless.

Being his assistant for next five years will be good for experience.

And cooking.

It's my passion.

"Maybe when you grow up, you can be My Personal Chef."

I remember those words clear.

His Personal Chef.

How is life always favouring him?

I looked upto him and noticed he was observing me.

"Not your maid, right?"

"Yes, Miss Smith. But there are other rules you'll have to follow. When you sign the contract you can read them." So we'll have a contract for that too? Nice!

"I didn't even agree."

"Not yet."

"How are you so sure I'll say yes to your stupid plan?"

Not minding my question, he went on with his decision, "And you'll be living here with me." My heart suddenly exploded with excitement. Woah wait heart. We said we moved on from him. Why do you still beat for him?

"What if your fiance doesn't like the idea of me living here?" Does she not live here? I thought engaged people live together?

"Look at yourself, Miss Smith, and enlighten me, does my fiance really need to worry?" He sarcastically smiled to himself. Is he calling me ugly in his words. Was that supposed to be a joke?

I gave him a bored expression and went inside my room.

"You have the whole night to think about the offer, Miss Smith, I want an answer by tomorrow morning."
