《Conquer {BLEACH}》(49)

[9 years later ~ Agito is about 23-24 years old]
It pulsed. Like a heartbeat of a monster. It breathed like a rolling thunder. The earth trembled in ecstasy. It demanded attention. I kissed the cross around my neck and my soul separated from the gigai. I didn't give much thought to the freedom of being able to stretch out cause I was already shunpo-ing towards this new monsterous presence. It wasn't overly huge but it was surprising to me when it suddenly appeared. Why haven't I noticed it before? What could this new threat be?
I shunpo-ed above the city lights. As I drew near, I hid my own reiatsu to avoid detection. It surprised me to see how close this presence was to the Kurosaki Clinic. I jumped onto a building and remained hidden as I looked down below. What I found was horrifying.
Ichigo Kurosaki stood in the middle of the street in Shinigami robes, a huge sword in his hands that was as long as his body length. Never before have I seen a zanpakuto of this length and it's not even in shikai! A little ways from him is a small girl also in Shinigami robes but drained of her power. Such a rebellious girl, giving her powers to a mere human when it's against the law to do so.
"How's the view from up here?" I don't even have to turn around to know who spoke.
"I got perfect front row seats, care to join me?"
"Don't mind if I do," he said as he stood beside me. We watched as Ichigo fell in a dead faint, probably in a mental overload and spiritual exhaustion right about now cause of recent events.
"Looks like this is my entrance," he mumbled. He jumped down from the roof, green and white stripped robe flowing behind him. A small smirk came to my lips as I took my que to leave, shunpo-ing back to my apartment. Once there, I turn on my laptop and hacked my way into Hueco Mundo. Once there, a slightly static image of the Primera [Starrk] appeared.
"Report, Ichigo Kurosaki has gained Shinigami powers at 1:06 tonight. His spiritual pressure is abnormally large for a recently acquired Substitue Shinigami but it might have been caused by his genes. Will continue in observation until further notice."

"Report noted. When do you think you'll be back Comadante?" I grinned.
"Give or take 2-3 months. When I get back, everything better be in tip top shape. It's been a while since I unleashed my sadistic tendencies and I will not show any sympathy towards anyone. Am I understood?"
"Yes Ma'am." I closed the lap top and leaned back on my chair. It seems like Aizen's plans will start sometime soon. War is about to begin.
[About 3 months later]
A shiver went through me and my heart speed up for a minute in fear. This wasn't Ichigo's out of control reiatsu I've come to recognize. No, this was older. This reiatsu has been engraved into my memory ever since I was 12. There was a slight difference since the last time I sense his presence was about 50 years ago. But it was still there.
I eliminated my presence and started running back to my apartment. What is he doing here? Is it for Rukia? Would he be able to sense me? What would I do if I have to confront him?
When I arrive at my apartment, I put away the groceries before sitting down on the couch and meditating. I focused in on his prensce and those around him. There was another one with him, some unknown Shinigami but I could tell that he was strong, probably leutenant strong if you remove his damn seal. Rukia and Ichigo are there to confront him. I don't know exactly what's happening since I'm so far away but I can tell that Ichigo was easily overpowered and Rukia and escorted back to Soul Society. After that, I could faintly sense Urahara's faint reiatsu hovering over the area. I opened my eyes once more and stood up.
It would seem like my part in this war will soon be coming up.
[3 days later]
I rolled my neck around, my bones cracking. My blood was slightly racing I was so excited. It's been a more than a dozen years since I've trained someone in swordsmanship and this invitation is almost oo good to pass up. I climbd down the ladder and landed on the ground. As I looked around, I was impressed in this underground facility Urahara set up.
"Agito-chaaaan~! Over here!" I whipped my head around and scowled at the grinning mischeivous shop owner.

"It's Diabolos-san to you."
"Diabolos-sensei?" I look away from the giggling blonde to the orange haired newly made vizard. He was probably a 6 inches shorter than I was* but he still had that grumpy grandpa look he's always had ever since Misaki died. I put my hands on my hips and look him up and down, assessing his physical stature up close.
"Good to see you too Ichigo. It's been a while."
"What the hell are you doing here?!" I sigh in disappointment. Looks like I got another loud mouth.
"I'm here to train you what else? You got ten days to learn as much as you can so no complaining."
"Wait, how do you and Hat-n-Clogs know each other? You knew all about this?" I roll my eyes, a bit annoyed at his mountain of questions.
"I've known centuries before you were even thought of Ichigo. No shut up and get ready. I will not show you any sympathy or mercy. Those things are for the weak and I don't train weak soldiers." I kissed the cross on my rosari and my gigai fell away, revealing my true soul. Instead of my arrancar uniform, I wore a plain white kimono with the rosarie around my neck. I summoned Michael into my hand and when he appeared in a flash of flame, he was pratically singing in joy. Ichigo's eyes widened.
"Who the hell are you and what is that in your hand?!"
"My name is Agito Diabolos. I will be your swordsmanship teacher for the next 10 days. This is Michael, my zanpakuto. You should really stop asking questions right about now cause you won't have the luxery to ask them." I charged at Ichigo and took a swing. I tsked at his sloppy form but also at my own rusty moves. I kept in close combat, not giving an inch to Ichigo as he parred against every thrust of my sword. Ichigo had one of the worst foundations in the world for swordsmanship but that was a given. He was basically handed a blade and thrown into the fight against hollows with no training whatsoever so I can't say anything.
"What is that?" Ichigo asks once he starts to warm up. I growl before sending a volley of strikes against him.
"What's what?"
"That. That sound." I listen for a bit before stopping our fight. I riased my hand up and simply stop Ichigo's blade with my palm. As he babbled on in nonsense, I looked down at Michael. The blade was screaming.
"Hmmm, nothing of your concern Ichigo. Michael's just mad at me." I took my hand away and began the fight again. Ichigo seemed overwhelmed before standing his ground and fighting back.
"Mad for what?" I don't even have to stop this fight to explain.
"Michael is an attention whore and me being this sloppy is unacceptable."
"Sloppy?!" I put us into a lock and gave Ichigo a nasty grin.
"Of course, it's actually rather pathetic having had this little warm up fight with you for over 3 minutes," I offhandedly comment.
"You think this is a joke?!" Ichigo screeched, finally putting a bit of force into his thrusts and attacking me out of anger. I was amused at his little temper tantrum.
"You think that this training is a joke?! You're nothing but a martial arts teacher! A past relic of best a world champion fighter! You're the joke!" I flashstepped in front of him and pressed my blade upon his throat. I pressed the sharpened edge into his soft flesh, drawing blood and making Michael heat up slightly to caterize the wound.
"You'll regret ever saying that Ichigo Kurosaki. It was I who trained Byakuya Kuchiki and it is I who is willing to train you. Do not underestimate my ability to teach you the cruel hand of swordsmanship. It is a privilegde to be under my tuteledge but I have a few requirements. You must obey any and all orders given by me. If I say jump you say, 'how high?' and you better jump until I say stop. You will not complain even if you have broken bones. and last but not least, never say you can't, only do." I flipped back and got into stance. Ichigo's shock was soon overcome with eagerness and he attacked me with everything he's got.
*I'm guessing that Ichigo's about 5'7". Agito stopped growing taller at 6'1"

8 121How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend
