《Conquer {BLEACH}》(38)

[TPV ~ 5 years after Captain promotion. Agito is about 19]
"Get your butts back in your seats!" The academy students scrambled to their seats. but when they were all sitting, most of them were already wiggling like impatient preschoolers. Today was Instruction. Instruction being a day where a ranked Shinigami would get assigned an Academy class to look over, to assist, to give pointers to. Luckily today, this class was assigned a Captain for Instruction.
"Knell-sensie! Do you know who's going to be coming?" Knell-sensie smiled wide in excitement.
"Yep! My old student, Captain Diabolos of the 3rd Company!" An excited chant ran through the room at the name. Captain Diabolos is legendary for her teaching skills and power. All of her students end up to be high ranking Shinigami and widely respected. It's rumored that she defeated a menos with nothing but her fist. There's a legend where she protected an entire village against an attack of a legion of hollows. A myth says that she can talk to hollow's. A story about how she looked into the eyes of a mobster and he died of a heart attack. A tale where she protected her entire squadron against an attack. She was surrounded by mystery, shrouded in legends, and placed on a pedistal of glory.
"I've said this before but I'll say it again, do NOT ask stupid questions. Do NOT show her disrespect. Do NOT run your mouths and ask for an autograph. And last but not least, whatever you do, do NOT challenge her! I don't care if she arrives with a broken arm and both legs cut off but if you challenge her, She will destroy what little ego you have!" There was a knock on the door and nearly everyone squealed in excitement. Knell-sensie opened the door and shook hands with the Captain.
"Welcome Captian Diabolos to the Advanced Swordsmanship class!" chorused everyone. A tall woman walked in and everyone couldn't help but stare. Captain Diabolos is a walking legend!
She had midnight blue hair, tipped with navy blue. Her hair was brushed and clipped down the middle of her head, giving her a mohawk. Burning, yellow, slit pupil eyes framed with long dark eyelashes looked around the room with an intensity to set alight. She wasn't smiling, no, she was smirking in amusment. She wore her white Captain haori lined with maroon over an unmodified Shinigami uniform with a maroon tie around her waist. To finish off the look, she wore a mahogany beaded rosarie around her neck with her zanpuktou at her left hip.
"Thank you for the warm welcome. My name is Captain Agito Diabolos of the 3rd Company. Let us start Instruction," she said. Her voice shocked everyone. If you closed your eyes and listened to her voice you would have thought a male spoke. She had a deep, bartone voice that rose and fell beautifully like a cello.
"Okay everyone, pair up with someone and let's head outside." Everyone filed out of the classroom with both Knell-sensie and Captain Diabolos in the back.

"So am I supposed to act like I didn't witness your juvenile deliquency when you were younger?" Knell teased. Agito scoffed, a tiny smile forming at the edge of her lips.
"I would appresiate it if my younger and wilder past would be kept a secret. Don't underestimate my power to track down your mother if you do decide to open your mouth about my juvenile tendencies." Knell nervously scratched the back of his head, knowing full and well that Agito would track down his mother so that she can drag him by the ear to her house and watch with a sadistic smile on her face as his mother probably pop him upside the head. As they arrived outside, Knell was immediatly put to work editing a student's stance. Agito walked around, studying all students indivually and making mental notes.
"Captain!" She looked at the student who called for her attention to see a 16 year old boy with black spiky hair and black hawk-like eyes. His uniform sleeves were ripped so he gave everyone an eyefull of bicep in every flex.
"Do you remember me?" he asked almost hesitantly. A grin tugged at her lips as she recognized the boy.
"Hello Hisagi. Congradulations on getting into the Shinigami Academy, and being able to enter the Advanced class." A wide smile overtook his face. He just got a complement by one of his idols besides Captain Kenji.
"Thank you Captain! I have a question, do you accept students only when they graduate or even before then?" He was hopeful that he could secure a place in the future to be under her tutilage.
"I take any students ready and willing to learn but I'll give you a test." At her words, a gang of boys all came around to hear what she had to say.
"It's a test meerly to see if you have the potential."
"What's the test?" A boy asked impactiently.
"Simple really, I thrust my zanpuktou at you and you have to block, if you can hold your own against me then I'll train you."
"But that's easy!"
"It only sounds easy. But do you really think you can hold your own against a Captain's zanpuktou?" She rested a hand on the handle of Michael and he hummed in appresiation. He loved the attention he was getting. The group of boys were fearful and fully realized exactly what the test was. If you weren't ready, or even a little bit sloppy, she will kill you.
"Go back to your sparring now before Knell-sensie comes around." The boys scampered back to their places and Agito made her rounds. Deep inside of her, Agito wanted Hisagi to start to train harder so he can par against her. She favored him because of his aura. His aura practically scream a strong sense of consciousness. Right and wrong. Good and evil. Justice. As she walked around, she found the oddity of the class.
She wasn't informed of someone who will be training alone and was rather surprised to find a 12 year old boy with bright white hair with his back to her. He was practicing the same stroke over and over again, wanting perfection. She watched a little bit before releasing a small flare of her reiatsu to announce her presence behind him. It pleased her however when his reiatsu flared in response. He turned around and stared wided eyed at her. Wide turquiose eyes. The turquiose and the white surprised her before a half-smile curled on her lips.

"You're leaking reiatsu. But that's my fault." The boy reigned control over his reiatsu before looking back at her. She remained in perfect eye contact with him, interested in the young protege. A 12 year old in the Advanced Swordsmanship Class! There hasn't been one so young ever since Agito graduated. She looked to the side to see a large zanpakuto.
"Is that yours?" The boy mutely nodded.
"Pick it up and spar with me," she ordered. The boy obediantly did as he was told and unsheathed his sword. He was frightened but he didn't let his emotions show. Why was the legendary Captain paying special attention to him?
"State your name."
"Toushiro Hitsugaya," the boy stated. Agito smiled and unsheathed Michael.
"What a ferocious name, Winter Lion. Let's see if you can bare the weight of that name." She charged him. Needless to say, she held back a lot of her power. Everyone knew it, even Toushiro knew it, but he still had difficulty blocking her strikes. There was a reason why he wasn't practicing with his zanpuktou before this. His zanpuktou was too long for him to effectively use, and he had no idea how to handle the length of the blade. She noticed this immediately and changed her fighting style to help him out. The sudden change brought his curiosity out but now he could stand on his own two feet he felt a slightly bit more confident. Sure, his zanputkou sat awkwardly in his hands but the way she was attacking, it made it easier for him to strike. Soon though, she ended it with her bare hand.
The class gasped at the sight of Captian Diabolos stopping Toushiro's blade in midswing with her bare hand. With one hand caught up with the blade, Agito sheathed Michael back. She stood up and Toushiro untensed himself, knowing that this fight has ended. She let go of the sword and Toushiro sheathed the blade.
"Well done Toushiro Hitsugaya. I'm glad that I was able to test you." There was a collective gasp that rose amoung the students that watched them.
"You wouldn't mind if I speak with you privately?" Toushiro shoke his head, not minding at all. He was rather nervous, but that was understandable. Captain Diabolos could be a very intimadating woman in the eyes of a 12 years old.
"All right everyone shows over! Get your butts back into high gear!" Knell shouted, breaking the small circle around them up. Agito lead Toushiro off to the side of the training feild to speak with him.
"I just have a few questions I want to ask. First off, when did you get your zanpuktou in it's physical form?" Toushro didn't look her in the eye. It made him uncomfortable.
"About 3 months ago," he said.
"When did you first started speaking to your zanpakuto?"
"About a year from today."
"What is the true form of your zanpakuto?" His head flashed up to her. No one has ever asked him that.
"An ice dragon," he answered, a little bit proud of himself. He should be proud. Everyone knows that Hyourinmaru is one of the strongest ice type zanpakuto in Soul Society. It has the stuff wet dreams are made out of, a zanpakuto so powerful, it can control the weather. Toushiro had yet to unlock his zanpakuto's shikia but he was already proud of his sword.
"Why won't you look me in the eye, Toushiro?" He winced a little bit. He really hoped that she didn't notice...but who was he kidding? She was a Captain for kami's sake!
"I'm...not used to people looking me in the eye," Toushiro muttered. It's true. The only people that ever looked him in the eye was Hinamori, his Grandma, and that crazy blonde leutenant.
"Why not?" He wasn't comfortable with spilling the truth but he did anyway.
"Not many people look me in the eye. I don't know why." She smiled sadly at him.
"It's your appearance huh?" she asked catching his attention. She sadi, "People are afraid of different. It hurts because they stop seeing you as human and start seeing you as somethina alien to them." Toushiro looked curiosly up at her.
"Did people judge you for your appearance?" A dry chuckle slipped out of her lips. She admitted, "Yeah, I was considered demonic when I was your age. Navy blue hair is extremely rare on a human and my eyes don't help at all-"
"Your eyes?" He couldn't help it. Even from far away, you can tell her eyes were different. While sparring with Captain Diabolos Toushiro had seen the slit pupil eyes that no one rarely has. He didn't know what was wrong with them. To him, they were beautiful. Agito made eyecontact and forced her pupils to dialate to make the wanted effect. He almost jumped when he finally realized what power her eyes held. Hyourinmaru growled in his head and Toushiro made the inference that her eyes drew a challenge than anything. Her eyes were something to fear. Any animal or human with primal instincts would take her slit pupil eyes as a challenge. Her eyes made her look like a predator. He couldn't look away.
"Last question, would you like to become my student?" The question paralyzed him.
"Of course you won't be taken out of the Academy but I can train you either daily, bi-daily, or weekly. It all really depends on how much you want to improve." This was a golden opportunity. Toushiro took it.
"Yes, I'd like that very much."

Brilliantly complex, adoringly rendered and quizzically intense. A must read and one I plan to revisit, and share!"- Amgwatts, Wattpad Reader"This has to be one of the most original and well written novels I have had the pleasure to read, on Wattpad and in general. It was captivating, interesting, immersive and above all, fantastic. I was left in awe of the beings, history and world you created. It was never dull, dry or predicable and it was a nice change from what seems to be the ever popular teen romance with vampires or werewolves or 'bad boys that are actually romantic good boys.' In the end it was a very pleasant surprise."-IridescentLies, Wattpad Readerhttp://dawnoftheepoch.weebly.com
