《Conquer {BLEACH}》(26).

[Agito's POV]
Dodge, punch, shunpo, jab, repeat.
This is the mantra that echo's in my head every time I fight with Yoruichi. Let me just remind you who exactly Yoruichi is.
Yoruichi is the heiress to her clan. She is the taichou of the Second Company and the taichou of the secret assassination unit. She is known as the 'Goddess of Flashstep'. She is so strong that she doesn't need a zanpukuto to defeat a taichou in their bankai.
She is also my mentor in hohou. Fighting against her in a sparring match is an honor I took for granted when I was ... younger, I suppose you would say. Training with her, learning her secrets, perfecting my own moves, and becoming a master in close combat. If this isn't the best type of training there is there I don't know jack.
"Come on Agito! I expect the best from you!" Yoruichi yelled before shunpo-ing to my side and sending a kick into my ribs. I flipped over the dangerous limb and delivered a volley of fists and kicks while spinning upside down.
Our spars are usually intense and epic battles of great proportions, usually ending with myself collapsing in exhaustion but after every battle, but my stamina and endurance increases exponentially. As of now, Yoruichi and I have been fighting since dawn. It has now only dusk and I still have energy to spare for the night.
"Diabolos-san! A message for you!" Yoruichi and I stop and turn towards the messenger, bowed at his knee.
"Well? Step forward," I said and reached my hand out expectingly. The royal messenger shunpo'd to me before resting a scroll in my hands before disappearing. On the scroll was a wax seal with the stamp of the Soutaichou.
"Your acceptance letter?" Yorichi asked. I nodded my head before breaking the seal and reading out loud.

Agito Diabolos~
I, Soutaishou of Gotei Juu-san, congratulate you on passing the Shinigami Academy Exit Exam [S.A.E.E.] on the first year of your admittance. ~1st Company, Yamamoto-soutaichou
~5th Company, Shinji-taichou
~6th Company, Kuchiki-taichou
~9th Company, Kenji-taichou
Select a Company to enroll in before the following date. Directions will be sent at a later date on your new barracks, uniform, and Shinigami etiquette.
"Damn Agito! You got four Companies that want you!" Yoruichi exclaimed before snatching the letter of acceptance out of my hands.
"Yes, but which should I choose?" I asked. Yoruichi scratched her cheek in deep thought.
"That's for you to decide and I won't take a part in your descision. Also remember that you can transfer Companies if you wish." I nodded my head in understanding before taking the letter back from her hands.
"You wanna go back home and tell Rue? I bet Byukuya is already there waiting to tell the news of his acceptance letter." I nodded my head in silence before we both started to shunpo back home.
When we arrived, Yoruichi was immediately pulled away by a herd of servants and important officials. I walked soundlessly to the lounge where I usually found Byakuya and Rue waiting for me after training with Yoruichi. When I turned down the hall, I could hear the distant sounds of Byakuya's exciting tale.I smiled before sliding open the lounge door. Byakuya and Rue looked back at me. Rue sitting on a couch while Byakuya stood facing her with a scroll in his hands.
"Agito! You have your letter?" I nodded before throwing my scroll at him. Byakuya caught it effortlessly and threw his own scroll at me. I caught it and read the whole thing through before smirking.

"One less than me Byakuya-brat? I'm surprised," I partially mocked. Byakuya flushed red before throwing my scroll to the ground, only to be picked up by Rue.
"Shut up okay! At least I got a personal note from the soutaichou, himself!" Yes, on Byakuya's acceptance scroll was a short note from the Yamamoto-soutaichou. It basically told Byakuya to keep up the good work and make the Kuchiki Noble House proud.
"So which one will you chose Agito?" Rue asked as she scanned the scroll.
"First Company of course. What about you Byakuya?" He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Sixth Company to be under Grandfather," he replied.
"If you two already got it figured out, you might want to send a letter to the Souttaichou about your decision." At the doorway was Yoruichi, leaning against the doorway with crossed arms. Around her shoulders was the Second Company haori. That usually means that she's going to be leaving for a mission, or other taichou related business. I nodded in agreement before sitting down on a small available table and writing my letter. Byakuya later joins me. I write as neatly as possible the hiragana and kanji needed for the letter before letting the ink dry and rolling it into a scroll.
When I was finished, I called out to one of the royal messengars. Byakuya also gave the messengar his letter of acceptance. When he left, I turned back to Rue and Byakuya.
"I'll see you at dinner," I said while leaving.
"Wait! Where are you going?" Rue called out.
"I'm going to be training with my shikai," I answered.
"Then let us come with you!" I gave her my full attention.
"I will be fully immersed in Jinzen," I warn, "I won't be a very interesting sparring partner.
"That's fine," Byakuya said taking a step in front of Rue, "We'll spar together. You can be the weirdo sitting by theirself, probably falling asleep and not pay attention."
"As long as your priorities are straight," I mused before turning away from them and walking down the halls. I wanted to start training as quickly as possible. When I heard the footsteps of both Byakuya and Rue behind me I couldn't help but smirk.
"Do you really think you can scare us off? You gotta do a lot better than that," Byakuya said as Rue and him fell into step beside me.
This is all where we're meant to be.

Small Chests Are Fine Too
It is an undeniable fact that good things come in small packages. More often than not, it is necessary to trim the fat in order to bring what really matters to the forefront. Having extra bulk may seem like a good idea, but in reality it is merely a crutch that will one day become a hindrance, as it is no substitute for personality nor ability. Indeed, often times it is the small things in life that brighten up our daily lives and constantly remind us exactly why we do the things we do. However, it is important to keep an open mind, for while bigger is not always better, there are also times when it is. This holds especially true when it comes to hopes and dreams, which have been known to require a suitably large container from time to time. And while dreaming big could potentially lead to massive dissapointment, one will never truly reach fulfilment if they think too small. A truth that one small woman with meager aspirations is about to find out. DISCLAIMER: This is a spin-off/side story of my main series, Everybody Loves Large Chests, which is also mandatory reading to understand this one. It runs parallel to the main plot, branching off from the chapter titled Upheaval 2, so there will be spoilers for anyone who hasn't reached that point.
