《Laughing Jack X Reader》Chapter 22

Not too long after LJ left, he returns to the room, with a bandage around his chest.
"LJ? Are, are you okay??"
I say as I approach him, reaching my hand out to his ribs.
I don't know what came over me but my 'mothers instinct' just seemed to jump right out of me like he was someone I cared about.
There was a slight pause as he stared wide eyed at me then down to my hand as I rest it lightly on the bandages. I watch as he blinks a couple times before averting his gaze to the wall.
"Put these on"
He orders, pushing my hand away and shoving clothes into me suddenly, causing me to drop them.
"Ugh you're useless"
He growls, crouching down to pick them up but he winces as he does so, grinding his teeth in discomfort.
"Here.. let me.."
It was only right for me to pick them up being as I was the one who dropped them. But once I had them in my hands, I saw clearly what they were. My eyes slam open and my jaw drops as I start to feel short of breath.
"What now?"
He snaps, but his angry and discomforted expression changes to shocked when he looks at my face, seeing tears fall down my cheeks as I lift the clothes to my chest and hug them.
"How could you"
I cry softly into the clothes. Beginning to sob more and more, standing to my feet as he does so.
"HOW COULD YOU!"
I scream as I throw the clothes at him, thrashing my arms against his shoulders in rage. But despite being sore, he was still taller and stronger than me, so easily grabbed both my wrists to stop my slapping.

"These were Ash's clothes you fucking asshole!"
I yank my wrists from his grasp and stumble backwards, wiping the tears from my face.
There was a pause for a second as he picks up the clothes I threw at him, stepping toward me and holding them out for me to take.
"Put them on."
He didn't even care that they belonged to my now dead best friend.
I shake my head, taking another couple steps back, only to be stopped by the table meaning I could go no further. LJ grunts, stepping towards me once more, placing the clothes down on the table beside me.
"I'm sorry [Name]."
My eyes slam open. Not only did he apologise, but he said my name..
"How did-"
"That's how we find our kills. We have their names on a list"
Why was he telling me this. Why be so honest now and use my name?
"But why.?"
I ask. But he ignores my question and grabs the shirt from the table, lifting my arms with his hands and proceeding to pull the shirt over me, dressing me.
Checking my thigh wound before continuing with the trousers.
"After all this time I waited for this moment... and it's just... not turning out how I thought it would.."
He sighed, his voice was soft and calm. Almost in an admitting tone.
"So.. I'm letting you go."
After those words left his mouth, two emotions rushed over me. Relief that I was going to survive. But also anger.
"You kidnap me. Torture me and kill my best friend in the entire world. Just to let me go?! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!"
Furiously I slap him right across the face. But this only turned his calm demeanour to rage. Grabbing my throat he forces me down on the table, pinning me with his body weight, with one of his legs between mine. The angle surely was uncomfortable.

"How dare you strike me. After I said I'd let you go. Do you know what I am risking setting you free!"
Out of reflex I spit in his face, causing him to flinch. His eyes start glowing red as he snarls. Instantly making me regret my decision as his grip tightens on my throat. After wiping away my spit, he brings his free hand to my face, his long claw like finger stroking down my cheek, causing me to shake.
"Oh so now you're scared? What happened to all that anger and confidence hm?.... I won't lie, I do love seeing the fear in you"
He smirks in what seemed like a sexual way, swiftly slicing across my cheek, causing me to gasp as much as I could with the already lack of air. His long tongue comes snaking out his mouth as he licks the blood.
"P-Please stop."

Re:The Worst System Leveling Turned Me Into A Zombie
Before I reached Lvl. 100, they called me Death God Hei. But when I broke the limit, the System punished me. It cursed me to become this monster. I woke up as a Lvl. 0 again. Dying only brings me back to a save point now. But I don't go back until I die twice. First I suffer as a human, then I hunger as a zombie. The worst part is...I still have to watch when that thing takes over my corpse. I call it the Gray. I can't do anything even when it's hunting down those I'm trying to save. Sometimes, I wonder. When I level, I swear I can hear a voice speaking to me. This thing...can it think? It's like Re:zero crossed with SAO, Solo Leveling, and Tokyo Ghoul Re:The Worst System is a dark, 1st person timeloop story where the main character is slowly driven insane by his ability to respawn at a save point. However, each time he levels, there's a possibility that the next time he dies, the zombie inside him will become too powerful for anyone to stop. So he has to level up a harem...ahem, others, to fight for him against the System. Oftentimes, Hei will get trapped in repeating death loops which are truly terrifying. You've been warned...please don't read if you're not willing to see the darkness all the way through. The light on the other side may be a long ways away...I'll be trying to post on Thurs/Sundays, but honestly, depending on how I'm feeling, chapters could come out at some wonky times.
