《Infected [killugon/killuaxgon]》A lot can happen

Four months had passed since the bet me and Kurapika had made that night.
Lots can happen in four months, so ill catch you up.
First off, around a week after we moved in, I began work on our property's exterior. Every now and then, Zushi likes to lend a hand, and it's amusing to see him try to use basic tools. Slowly, he's beginning to get the hang of things.
Ikalgo and Killua have gotten along very well; I'd even go as far as to call them friends. For the most part, they cooperate, and Killua has told me how he has taught Ikalgo a few things. They are good friends once they stop arguing about everything.
Leorio enjoys scouting the forests for plants and spices that may be edible or useful for treating wounds, and Kurapika and Bisky pair up to go out and bring safe food for the lot of us.
Kurapika and I have been teasing each other about the bet to ensure that neither of us forgets about it. I admit that I really want to win this wager. I've had countless opportunities, but the time hasn't yet been appropriate. Kurapika hasn't come close, to be honest. They spend plenty of time together but are rarely alone.
This bet is quite difficult for the both of us.
"You look tired."
I had just finished constructing a second floor for the far half of the barn and I was slumped down flat on the pavement.
"Could it be because I am? How you're not in pain right now, tool boy, is beyond me."
Zushi folded his arms as he pouted and sat down on the floor next to me. "It is a huge workout for me as well. Trying to remember the meaning of all these names is impossible." I'm convinced.
Ikalgo greeted us while dragging a worn-out Killua next to him. While Zushi indulged Ikalgo in conversation, Killua hunched close to me and sighed heavily. "It looks like these two just aren't putting in the same amount of work we are," I say in a mocking tone. " At least we have our own tiny helpers, right?" Killua grins at me and says. We did a little laughing, but it was simply too exhausting right now.
"By the way, nice job on the second floor. Is it finished?" Killua stood up, walked toward the rickety ladder, and climbed just far enough to see the surface. "Yes, I believe so. Finding wood that wouldn't collapse on us was difficult." Killua dropped, wrapping his arm around my shoulders as he led the way back to our house.
"Considering how much work we've been doing lately, how about we take a break and unwind for a while?" Killua suggested, bending his head in my direction and causing me to blush at the distance between us. I swallowed any comments as I tensed and forced my head to sit up straight. "Um, sure, sure. by the way, there's something-" "Killua, Gon! Come inside, Bisky found something in a shop down the street." Kurapika waved his arms near the door and bellowed at us.

He really does seem to know as soon as something is about to happen. Perhaps the timing wasn't good, but at this point, I have no chance of winning. "I'm feeling like cake right now." "You feel like a cake? that's not healthy-" "I mean I want to eat some cake, you fricking corndog. What did Bisky bring, I wonder." The mention practically made Killua's mouth water, and he hurried inside.
"Hot damn! Yes, please!" Killua yelled as he noticed some chocolate robots on the table next to Bisky. He hurried over, but she smacked his head and sent him rolling on the floor in agony. "What work have you done today to deserve this?" Killua practically fumed, standing and hiding behind me. "I sanded the deck railing as you told me to do! You old hag, you even watched me do it!"
Bisky appeared to change her mind, perhaps recalling the load she had placed on him. "That's true, but since you labeled me an "Old hag," you can only have one pack." Killua proceeded to groan, acting like a young child throwing a temper tantrum. I had no idea killua enjoyed sweets so much or that he had a sweet tooth at all. But after a while, I came to the conclusion that was the case.
He reluctantly accepted the chocolate box from Bisky and nibbled on each piece. He remained laying on the ground in horror as Gremlin suddenly burst into the room and took the package from his hands in a flash. "Hey, get back here!" He yelled, chasing after the raccoon which had grown larger in size over the past few months.
Bisky resisted laughing while maintaining a shite-eating grin on her face. I considered following them out of concern but decided against it since I felt Killua was old enough to handle his own bullies. "I fucking love that rat," "That was excessive language."
I was waiting for something to happen.
Almost every time I couldn't sleep something bad happens. I slept until maybe two in the morning, and I got a gut feeling something was about to happen. It finally hit me, we were fighting against human-eating monsters and anyone could die at any moment. This was our reality, it felt so fake but everyone would know it was real. Thinking about everything that has happened or could happen just makes my stomach twist.
And at that moment, I almost puked.
When a loud crash was heard from outside, Killua jumped out of bed and gave me the same look I was giving him. We both dressed quickly and rushed out the bedroom door to join the others in the hallway. Isn't that odd? I swear, something always happens.
"Should we check it out?" Zushi yawned frightenedly. "Obviously. Who will carry it out?" Ikalgo asked while scanning the group for a volunteer. He grumbled and trudged downstairs, navigating the pitch-black spaces. He soon found the kitchen window, gazed out, and ran back up the stairs. "Actually, I believe that you all need to see this. maybe hurry up?"

We did so, and what we saw shocked us. It was a helicopter that struck our fence close to the grove of trees behind the home, bringing it down and drawing attention from nearby and distant walkers. This was undoubtedly a bad thing, as it led walkers into our yard and made no escape routes. What would we do, now? Was the person inside alive?
"Well, shit. This looks familiar, doesn't it?" Leorio joked, trying to lighten the mood which seemed impossible.
"I... have an idea," Zushi mumbled hoarsely as he watched the walker's inch closer, dread washing across his face. "Ohm, upstairs. go upstairs."
So we did. The only thing we could do was go with what we had.
We followed Zushi upstairs, Ikalgo seemed the most scared out of anyone else since he knew Zushi the longest and knew how stupid he could be at times. Zushi walked to his car themes bedroom and cracked open his window, peeking below before explaining his idea.
"There's a cell tower right out the window, it's within reach and we can use that as a safe route down. Two of us can get to the car and drive towards the lane where the rest of us will wait for the car. The walkers are only at the back of the house right now, so we need to act-" Yet another large bang cut Zushi off, though this one seemed a bit closer.
It was the front door being knocked off its hinges.
This prompted us to move a little more quickly, going to each room as fast as we could to gather our backpacks and weapons as the walkers searched the ground floor for anything they could eat. Back in his room, Zushi opened the window just wide enough for each of us to fit out separately.
When we reunited, Ikalgo was the first one outside the window. A loud squeal could be heard from just above the stairs as he gripped the cell tower, Gremlin sacrificed and gave himself up so we could have more time, on purpose or not. Ikalgo shed tears, but he flicked his eyes away from the poor raccoon that was presently being eaten.
He descended just far enough for Zushi and Bisky to do the same. Gremlin had already been completely consumed by that point, and the walkers were surging toward our room. Kurapika made a quick decision and shut the door, which unfortunately lacked a lock. 'Oh crap, I would have used the locked doorknob if I had known this would happen.'
"Next few step down, please!" Kurapika rushed out, already out of breath from holding the door. Leorio rushed to help him hold down the door, which left me and killua to go down next. "Go down first Gon, just in case. okay?" Killua asked, which made me tear up thinking about it.
"Nothing will happen, okay? go down after me." And with that said, I climbed out the window and down the tower and killua was just after me. When we both reached the ground, walkers began pouring towards the front of the house and around it, causing us to draw our weapons.
"Kurapika, ill hold them, go and climb down the tower." Leorio pleaded, shoving the door.
"Leorio, I've already told you to go! You are so stubborn. Just, get down okay? everything will be fine." Kurapika seemed calm, and Leorio trusted him with his life. He accepted, and reluctantly let go of the door causing Kurapika to stumble a bit from all the extra weight.
Leorio rushed out the window and slightly down the ladder and waited for Kurapika halfway down. Kurapika held the door one more second before letting go and letting all the walkers fall to the floor, giving him the chance to climb down before they got back up, but of course, it wouldn't be that easy.
"KURAPIKA! FUCK!"
Kurapika had leaned out the window and the walkers caught up as quickly as they fell, sinking their teeth into Kurapika's flesh and tearing out the skin, causing him to let out an agonizing scream gaining everyone's attention.
"Kurapika, oh fuck, oh fuck-"
"Go, please. Actual-ly come- here for a second?" Kurapika's voice was staggering and he was nearing death of blood loss, and Leorio hasn't climbed a ladder faster than this before in his life.
"Le-orio, Marry m..e?" Kurapika asked, holding his hand towards Leorio which held a chained ring, making Leorio burst out in tears.
"Of course Kurapika! Of fucking course ill marry you." Leorio pulled Kurapika in for one last Kiss, only to get a mouthful of blood. "I love you.. dam-n much..."
And that was that. Kurapika was pulled back into the bedroom and died that same morning.
And it was okay, because it was completely within his expectations.
