Looking for something similar to Boss Level Face-Slapping Specialist or I am a Big Villain and this was among the recos on both works so decided to check it out. Emm... how to say, it wasn't what I expected. If anything, I feel like this is closer to QT: The Prodigal Son.

Our MC is the underworld Boss, but lately, the souls that comes to Hell refuse to reincarnate since they have so much resentment. MC opens a Soul Pawn Shop to take revenge for them for the price of their soul.

- Ancient times. Client FL is a royal Princess. An upstart General asks for her hand and the Emperor grants it, then General goes missing and comes back months later with a commoner woman saying they're true love so Princess is reduced to a laughing stock. Emperor gets angry and had the woman punished, she couldn't take it and died. General later rebels and kills the royal family as revenge for his true love. MC becomes a talented young master and when General goes missing, he proposes to the Princess too. Emperor chooses MC over General.

- Campus story. Client FL has a BFF. BFF has a crush on school heartthrob. Chooses love over friendship. After getting troubled by hearttrob's fangirls, asked FL for help. Laters, BFF finds out that heartthrob has a crush on FL but didn't chase her cos FL was poor and chose her instead cos she's RICH. Laters, they were blocked again by the fangirls and when FL let her escape so she can call for help, BFF chose to leave her alone. FL was raeped by gangsters hired by the fangirls and committed suicide. MC comes in and becomes a school bully, he shows that he's chasing/interested to FL so the fangirls/gangsters don't dare to bother her. Laters, he revenges on BFF/heartthrob/fangirls/gangsters by drugging them and exposing the scandal.

- Client FL is an orphan abandoned at the orphanage, grew up introverted. Laters, she was trafficked and sold to a mountain village, the man is violent and would often beat her, she tried to escape twice but was caught back. Laters, she was sold as a slave(???) and some rich girl took a fancy to her husband and told her that everything that happened to FL was because of her. MC becomes a rich young master and adopts FL from the orphanage when she was young. She was still kidnapped by rich girl laters though, MC tortures rich girl as revenge.

- Entertainment circle. Client FL is a straightforward gal. Pretty but has no interest in love, treats guys as friends/brothers. Laters, she joins a reality dating show and one of the guys approaches her and gives her hope then later reveals that he just got close to her for one of the other girl contestants. The two become CP and for some reason, netizens abuse FL for being green tea??? FL's wish is to fall inlove. MC becomes a superstar and joins the dating show as well, he chooses FL in the show so the other contestants/netizens become jealous of her.

Uhhmm... putting this on-hold for now. Still not a fan of "Save the Girl" missions (sorry!) and I keep wondering how come all the souls with resentments are girls???? It's also a bit overdramatic for me: Obsessed fangirl group in Arc 2 [anime much?], the slave part in Arc 3, Arc 4 netizens abusing FL when it's a reality show and it's obvious that the GUY is SCUM! For Arc 1, the guy was so stupid-mouthed that he actually manage to climb to being General without offending anyone(???), the commoner woman #spoiler becoming yandere???? I got so many questions. Lol.

I also dunno why the client FLs keep forgiving people, for example, the mistress (yes! mistress cos she knows that upstart General already has a Princess fiancee) in Arc 1, the BFF who used and abandoned the FL in Arc 2? I mean, they aren't direct culprits but they aren't exactly without sin. Why the special treatment? Is it because they're *girls*? Is it to show how kindhearted our client FLs are??? I guess, the...development just didn't sit right with me XD that all the problems got solved just by the MC showing interest/chasing the FL. I wish more character development for the FLs, that the problems got solved with some contribution from them too.

Dropping this/putting this on-hold for now. Might get back to this if ever I'm in the mood for damsel in distress FLs.
